What you did not get the notice of the scheduled work ?
Are you still injured?
So you didn't read the post after the one you quoted before replying, did you?
This circus band I play with has a tune called Knock Out Drops and I said we can't play that anymore because it is about a date rape drug. They were shocked and said perhaps we should stick to Baby It's Cold Outside.
So the redundancy of my reply was unexpected? So you didn't read the post after the one you quoted before replying, did you?
Not so much - consider the title of this thread - me thinks of the classic line from the old NPR show Car Talk -So the redundancy of my reply was unexpected?
I believe you mean you've been hating "that song" for 52 years. Name another song, I dare you. No google - honor system.Oh my, I've been hating her music for 52 years.
I didn't expect that at all, actually....So the redundancy of my reply was unexpected?
When I walked into the Mall of America last week (killing time before heading into town to check in for NPC) there was a stage set up and my first thought was "is Tiffany coming?"Reminder of the day that you're freakin' old:
Tiffany Darwish (of "I think we're alone now" cover fame) is 52 years old.
Seems like it wasn't very long ago she was bouncing around the mall wearing her high tops and jeans jacket.
Glad to hear your are mostly better and that you responded well to the cortisone shots! PTs are miracle workers!I probably did get the notice in an email but their weekly email newsletters are so poorly laid out that I usually just delete them without even opening them.
I've got some lingering calf and lower back pain but have had a couple cortisone shots in the spine and that made a world of difference (and I have one final one scheduled for next Monday). My range of motion is still a bit limited but a ton of PT has made a big difference there too. I am back to running, though nowhere near what I was doing previously. It doesn't hurt to run once I'm up and going and I'm surprised that my speed hasn't suffered more than it did with nearly 6 months off. I think the biggest thing that has helped has been a lot of the exercises I learned at PT to really focus on strengthening my core and some stretches that I learned.
I did have an EMG a few days ago to check for nerve damage because my doctor was worried about the pain I'm still experiencing in a few spots and the lack of muscle resistance in a few area but he said the damage didn't appear to be as bad as he was expecting to see so that's good.
I do still need to file a claim with the VA since the doctor thinks a lot of the back problems have probably been building for years and years. I'm not expecting much but it's always worth a shot.
During my time off of running I've gotten back into lifting weights which I haven't really done in any serious manner in about 20 years and I'm actually really enjoying it. Now that the weather is getting nicer it will be harder to decide whether I want to run outside or go to the gym to lift weights but I'm still going to try to get in there a few days a week. Both running and lifting seem to give me the same sort of endorphin and mood boost but lifting doesn't leave me absolutely drained for the rest of the morning like a long run does.

I have a few dollars lying around but the remainder of my money is freshly laundered, heavily starched, and standing upright.Anyone have $9,500 lying around that they want to give me so I can go to the Olympic Opening Ceremonies? I will send foot pictures.
Being old & retired, I would like have that amount of $$$$ too.Anyone have $9,500 lying around that they want to give me so I can go to the Olympic Opening Ceremonies? I will send foot pictures.
Got any drindl pics instead?Anyone have $9,500 lying around that they want to give me so I can go to the Olympic Opening Ceremonies? I will send foot pictures.

any stories of violence towards bats will not be tolerated
Happy International Bat Appreciation Day!
Nope, can't name another song.I believe you mean you've been hating "that song" for 52 years. Name another song, I dare you. No google - honor system.
Wait, I remember one. It was a good nerdy-kid slow song and Dawn Gutknecht would dance with us band nerds (she was willing to, she was a flautist, I played the oboe) in 7th grade and she always put her head on your chest and she had like a tiny heart-shaped sticker in the corner of her eyeglass lens. sigh To be young and dancing with Dawn Gutknecht in the gym.
That's my over-share for the day. I'm done, you're all in the safe-zone.
Might have to throw one of our developers in for a state planning award for their work on growth analysis stuff.
Yeah ok.Being old & retired, I would like have that amount of $$$$ too.
Not sure why my brain said developer, probably my hate for the Tiffany song making me feel older today. I should have said consultant. He does demographics for schools and did a good job with ours. Higher detail, plus a tool developed to track growth over time.I am intrigued. Compliments to developers don't get tossed around here very much.....
I found the sound of that song annoying and the lyrics doubly so.
17As of this morning I'm down 16 pounds in just over a month. Roughly speaking I'm about a quarter of the way to my goal.
I found exactly the opposite. I've been singing it again in my head since yesterday! There are any number of dorky, catchy songs, but that era boasted more than its share.I found the sound of that song annoying and the lyrics doubly so.
I'm sure you like it though.
Guess I missed the memo on the world domination plan embedded in the 15-minute city concept

We are all just pawns I suppose.....
Maybe we need an Old News thread. 😁Geeze I thought that was today, not just the anniversary.
