I enjoy the time that no one is in the office and no one comes into the office. I have done around 20 hours of uninterrupted work over the last week or so. I would imagine I did roughly that in the entirety of 2024 prior to that.
 
Ouch. I didn't actually get hurt, but just felt like saying that.
 
We rubbed 8 racks of ribs, 2 briskets, 2 hens and 1 butt @ our friend's house last night in preparation of tonight's festivities. I was told they went on the cooker @ 6:00 am this morning. There's also a bushel of 'local clusters' oysters from the SC coast to be steamed too.

That's down from previous years, but the group is getting a little smaller.
 
Mrs. Maister is getting a biopsy today. We won't know anything probably for several days, which is the worst part.

A few weeks ago Itty Bitty was upset because her classmates said she would lose in an insult battle against this mean girl. We tried to explain to her that it was actually a good thing because it meant IB was a nice kid but I can understand her disappointment.
 
At the office today. It's a half-day, but I would rather work some today than work any tomorrow!
 
I'm not one for late night snacking but last night before bed I had a bowl of rice chex and it was pretty good.

Grilled, but I'd be perfectly happy with boiled to be honest.
 
We roasted chestnuts in our oven for a Christmas treat. They came out rather well but I need to score them better next time.

Ooh! we actually did that a couple years ago. We've made English muffins on several occasions. Still haven't got it down how to get the crumb really loose with lots of nooks and crannies for when you put on butter or jam.

I would eat them every day if I could! We have the added complexity of making it GF but might be worth a try.
