1. I don't broadcast my problems, which makes me a sounding board for friends who do. I'm tired of it.
2. I haven't been to church fr 2 years.
3. We had a good afternoon storm.
4. My daughter got a puppy she can't afford.
5. I'd love to have a dog.
 
1. Colorado tomorrow. Thank god.
2. I like soup. The best lunch is soup with bread.
3. Night meetings suck.
4. I like my new business cards.
5. Can I decompress? We shall see! See you in two weeks!!!

1) My mother hit a big bump on the road to recovery, and is now on bedrest for the rest of the week. She's allowed out to pee and eat.
2) I realize that my dad is not capable of handling taking care of her by himself - and this is a big game changer.
3) I now have 35 active projects to finish - with several time-sensitive ones and a few lollygaggers.
4) Got a great discount on the bulk balloons I was volunteered to buy for the retirement party!
5) I will have to work at some point over the holiday weekend just to catch up.
 
1. Junior has a birthday today. I will be taking the afternoon off to do something with him
2. Junior learned cursive in third grade. Not every school teaches that
3. Will likely be taking a few days off later this summer to go somewhere fun.
4. At a certain point that 'new carpet smell' disappears. I never noted when exactly that happened at work
5. The local fourth of July parade was stalled in the middle for about 15 minutes. Never did find out why.
 
1) Did not sleep well last night and am really dragging this morning.
2) Don't want to be at work right now, but have a ton of work because of transferred files from the now-retired person.
3) Hubby did me a favor, then got upset when I didn't IMMEDIATELY notice and thank him.
4) I am going to ask my supervisor if I can work a slightly different schedule for the summer. If he says yes and the summer hours work well, then I'll see about just continuing them year-round.
5) Anyone else have times when you just want to be left alone? My social batteries are drained . . .
 
1. Just going to steal some of Sal's 5 things because they match my life.
2. Also didn't sleep and don't want to be here.
3. Wife is annoyed because I talked to her last night during her show, but if I didn't I'd get in trouble for not talking to her enough.
4. At least when Tuesday is over my week becomes regular work
5. I still have too many projects coming due at the same time.

1. Spent the 4th in the lake, sitting on a pool noodle, drinking beer with my cousins

4. For no apparent reason, I woke up at 2:12, 3:47, 4:20, & 5:53 this morning
5. Summer project #2 was completed yesterday evening; on to project #3 which involves painting
 
1) youngest has not been sleeping well therefore neither have I.
2) now that we are settled in, we are starting to explore a future home to buy in he next few years. It is almost comical what some of these builders try to pass off as "quality."
3) I am starting to wonder if we will ever fully unpack. We will get to the why bother point in the next year or so.
4) My new bookshelves arrive tomorrow!
5) my oldest started 1st grade today.
 
1. Found out that my grandma's family name was different back in the old county.
2. An INS person screwed it up
3. That and her father didn't understand the question that was being asked
4. That happened a lot with the immigrants
5.. Orphan Black has turned into a pretty good series to watch.
 
1. Summer project #3 paint has been purchased, room has been taped and not starting tonight...why?
2. Have a council meeting tonight, the other guy is presenting the regional HazMit plan for adoption
3. Raf sorry to hear about all that's happening - sometimes life sucks
4. I don't like the way my car sounds when it starts out in the morning, need to take it in, but $$$
5. I hope the USNMT is playing the Gold Cup like the USNWT played in the World Cup...starting slow but finishing strong (right now they look unorganized)
 
1. Had the biggest interview of my career last Friday.
2. Felt it went great but concerned I want it too bad
3. The disappointment might kill me
4. This is the rainiest summer I can recall in years.
5. People need to understand that just because someone put you in charge doesn't necessarily make you a leader.
 
1) Came in early and staying late because I'm just freakin' busy.
2) Didn't bring dinner, which limits how late I'll stay. Maybe long enough that dinner will be of the liquid variety.
3) Inherited a doozy of a project, and walked into a situation with it that made me want to curse in public.
4) On the upside, the sun is shining and is predicted to do so for days! :tx:
5) I wish I had a beer right now . . .
 
1. Playing the harmonica is on a short list of things I'll look for in a guy, if I decide to date...

5. A local restaurant received a visit from the IRS last week who locked up the place because of an "accounting discrepancy"

3. I guess "Sea Monkeys" are being re-branded as "Ocean Aliens" or it's away around some trademark. I guess brine shrimp isn't very marketable.

1. Awful Planning and Zoning Hearings
2. Applicants that stir the pot when they know you are agitated.
3. Having to wait another day to interview a new office assistant.
4. Have four zoning request come in just when you were getting caught up.
5. 11 phone calls on the Planner of the Day phone before noon time.
 
1) Some professional training is better than others.
2) It has been so sunny here that I have not turned on my office lights once.
3) I am fearful of going outside to drive home. Sounds like it is 1,000 degrees outside and there is a risk of spontaneous combustion
4) I think hot wings and cold beer are in order for dinner tonight
5) My oldest is going to a birthday party this weekend. He claims it is for his girl friend.
 
1. I don't really like Chipotle. Yea I said that out loud.

4. I also hate the fake argument about organic, etc. Organic is a pretty stupid concept. Technically it is all organic. And don't get me started on free range chicken.

3. I read an awesome book called "Setting Limits With Your Strong Willed Child" and have started implementing its tenets. It promises to change some family dynamics for the better.

1) Today is going to be a long day... I am completely out of it today and I am not all that sure why.
2) We have book club at lunch. I am having problems remembering the details since I read the book a month ago.
3) The post office says they have been delivering packages to the apartment office... the apartment office won't return my phone calls.
4) My new insulated coffee cup might work too well. My coffee from 7:30 am is still too hot to drink.
5) My life insurance agent is also a 'financial advisor.' He said that he is putting together some proposals for us and wants to get back together with us next week. First thought is I don't want to take financial advise from someone who does not have the financial situation that I want, unless they are the middle man providing information from someone who does.
 
  1. i unsubscribed from home delivery but the Press wants to send it to me free anyway. okay!
  2. I unsubscribed from the NYtimes, but for 99cents they'll extend it for 12 weeks. okay!
  3. For 99 cents ATT wants to give me a tablet, at 300mgs and $10 a month, no thanks!
  4. i bought a wooded vacant lot at tax auction sight unseen for less than 1k last year

1. My trip home from NC begins today.
2. I'm stopping in Floyd, VA, to listen to local music.
3. I shocked at the heavy, salty, greasy diet that the people in this part of NC eat.
4. I'm taking boiled peanuts home for my friends to try, and fresh peaches for me.
5. I love road trips.
 
1. It was a very busy weekend and it was good
2. Gave The Girl a written list of things she needs to do this week. That works so much better than just telling her.
3. The state is making it difficult to build a simple sidewalk extension, can't match the existing to even tie-in
4. KFC went up in smoke (local franchise had a fire)
5. Vacation starts @ 5:00 pm on Friday!!! That's vacation, not weekend!
 
1) We know who our new Director will be - and she starts late next month!
2) I have a nasty headache.:-{
3) Our new Planner has verbally accepted an offer - further details to be given after more discussion with him on his timing, etc.
4) I'm regretting the Indian food I had for lunch. Usually I like this place, but today something feels off.
5) Hubby had to be at work before the butt crack of dawn today. He'll be in a bad mood tonight.

1. Mentally preparing myself for being a single dad for the next week while the ex goes on a camping trip with her "friend". I am sure there will be some err adult activities going on.. :r:

3. Picked up 2 extra shifts at Old Navy this week.. which means i can have some extra cash in my pocket
4. Have to make a presentation for the mayor for our local home builders association :r:

1. I have to attend the council meeting tonight, it will be my third one in 6 months.
2. I don't mind, it's the least/most I can do seeing that the Planning Director is on vacation.
3. I used to have to attend every council meeting and budget session, It's a welcomed change.
4. I don't drink as much as a result but I have beer on hand for tonight's post council meeting consumption.
5. I wonder if "south arrows" would replaced "north arrows" on maps if the outcome of the Civil War would have been different.
 
1) Picking up dinner for the wife and kids on my way home from work today.
2) I seriously question if some architects or developers bother to read the ordinance or the application before they submit stuff.

5) A part time GIS assistant started today
 
1. Being gone for a week and having to catch up over 11 pages of Random Thoughts pages takes some time & messes with your brain
2. Watching my older brother face plant in the sand after The Girl made a nice move with the soccer ball = PRICELESS!
3. It's still really cool to see fish swimming by really close when we're playing in the surf.
4. The GOP / Fox / Megan circus is a sh!+show.
5. It's strange to me that I'll check emails while on vacation, but won't surf the web - Mrs. P says it should be the other way around.
 
1) Is it bad that I am excited for my new notebooks to arrive in the mail?
2) One of my best friends from GR is flying in on Thursday through Sunday and a buddy from back home who was the best man at my wedding is going to be spending the day in the area on Sunday. I am excited to see everyone.
3) I think my kids have a juice addiction even though we water it down 1 part juice to 5 parts water.
4) I hope those in Central Michigan are drying out today. I saw the photos on FB of flooded freeways and neighborhoods in and around Lansing.
5) I have a night meeting tonight that I am not looking forward to. Not that I have anything important to do with the meeting, but I am not looking forward to it because I don't have anything important to do with the meeting... and there will be 3 people there plus the board.

1. I'm looking forward to a four day weekend
2. Summer is ending soon but I plan to keep grilling as long as I can...maybe even into early November
3. Junior won the grand prize at the hobby store raffle - a $300 radio controlled car. Now he wants to start racing in r.c. competitions.
4. There's an old school video arcade in a nearby town that has lots of 1980's vintage video arcade games. I took the cub scouts there some months ago and the games were nowhere near as fun as I remembered
5. I think Elizabeth Montgomery (Samantha in 'Bewitched') eventually married one of the producers.
 
1) Got up at 4:15 this morning in an effort to start a new morning routine. It partly worked... I will need to ease into this.
2) The supervisor training book that we are reading for work is 50% awesome and 50% horrible.
3) It is not an enjoyable experience with a builder shows up to get permits, and the lots have not been approved yet.
4) I am looking forward to going back to the ocean this weekend.
5) Economic statistics can be truly frightening. I looked at what we make, what we spend, and realized where we are in the income distribution. For the life of me I cannot comprehend how people afford the lifestyles that they live without going into stupid amounts of debt.
 
1. Returned home Sunday from my annual Jimmy Buffett Roadtrip with stops in Pittsburgh and Boston.
2. That's a lot of driving but it was fun with 3 other guys in the car.
3. I've only ever eaten jello when it was in jello shots. Can't imagine any other reason to consume it.
4. I found out I didn't get my dream job that I interviewed for.
5. I really wanted it bad and absolutely nailed the interview. Not sure what else I could have done differently.
 
1. 7th grade orientation at the middle school tonight (no I don't have to repeat, its for The Girl)
2. The end of our Minor League baseball season is closing in & we can't go again until the last game
3. The annual city parade is Thursday - downtown will be crowded all day long
4. The Girl is starting her second round of braces today. Round one went great and the orthodontist says the early work should avoid major issues
5. Since it hasn't been so hot lately, I've been taking the dog for longer walks - that's good for both of us.
 
1. First day of school for the kids.
2. I am eating salad for dinner. It isn't healthy though.
3. Bacon jam is a thing, and it is wonderful.

5. I wish Freddie Mercury was around today.
 
1. It is now Wednesday on the East Coast.

3. Today is the first day I can use the new medical insurance.
4. My back is out of wack due to DDP YOGA.

1) Miniskis wants to join boy scouts. Meeting is this week, I think we will sign him up.
2) My wife is awesome. She cleaned the apartment on her day off and started sorting through stuff to keep and get rid of. She is starting to agree with my simplicity is better idea.
3) My ADD is quite bad this morning. It does not help that my training this morning was a total waste of time and I find the presenters style for webcast very ineffective.
4) I found a bunch of really good audio books on youtube. I can download them as .mp4 and use itunes to convert them into .mp3 to listen to using my cell phone during my commute.
5) I am always impressed with people who can do a drastic shift for the better in their lives.
 
1. I feel some sort of eerie calm, but I know there's a 'sload' of work to be done
2. I need to cut the grass at the house, but the next 3 evenings are full and afternoon showers are lurking on the horizon
3. The Girl jumped from a size 4.5 youth to a size 7 women in shoes this summer & I bought 3 new pair for her last night
4. I love directions that start with "go to the corner where they put in a new gravel drive about 10 years ago"
5. So idiot running from the highway patrol took out a main pole this weekend when he wrecked. Cable, Fiber, Power etc. went out. Everything is patched now, but permanent fixes will take a while. 20 years old and this was not his first offense.
 
1) First staff meeting with new director - there are goin' be some changes around here!!
2) I hate it when you think you did everything right, then find out in a meeting that you missed one small step, so now we all have to talk about ways to "fix" it. My feeling? Tell me I missed the step, then the rest of the group can KMA - I hate all the suggestions. I'd rather fix it myself.
3) We might see some rain today. Finally - my car needs a wash.
4) Two weeks til a long weekend. I need to get out and see some more of the area.
5) I'm starting to feel a bit overwhelmed. Maybe it's the 33 items in my queue.
