  1. It's hot, mugy, and there's the chance of an afternoon thunderstorm.
  2. It's just how the weather rolls in the mid south.
  3. I like late afternoon thundershowers better than mid day thundershowers.
  4. I wonder what the sunbelt would be like without A/C.
  5. My grandparents lived here without a/c but people weren't pansies back then.

...and died at 60 yrs old on average and didn't have an option other than moving and living among those damn Yankees...and that certainly wasn't going to happen. :p

true. I had a great-aunt that lived to the ripe old age of 98. She had a/c installed in her house when she was in her late 60's. She credits her longevity to bacon, liver mush, sausage, and a/c.:p
 
1) Went to the doctor about my toe I complained about last Friday.
2) I'm having surgery next week on the toe - and it will hurt :-c
3) Running away from home this weekend.
4) Hopefully Hubby will enjoy some home-alone time
5) It's going to be hot all weekend - so I'll be keeping cool indoors.
 
1) I am going to bring work home with me this weekend. :r:
2) One month from tomorrow, we should be getting the keys to our house!
3) I think we are going to relax by the pool this weekend and do nothing. (other than the work in number 1)
4) I have a lot of night meetings over the next several weeks.
5) If anyone has suggestions for healthy quick meals that a toddler would like, let me know.
 
1. Going to a fairly private beach at a state park on the Chesapeake this weekend. Water, sun, naps and reading.
2. And excellent seafood for dinner each night!
3. My vehicle's AC doesn't seem to be quite doing the job. It's ok but not great. I've got plenty of charge so not sure what's up.
4. It's kind of hard to find a nice selection of swimsuits in July.
5. Some of these young planners are really skilled with various graphics programs. I think this old dog might need to learn a few new tricks.
 
1. Mrs. P is gone with her girlfriends for the weekend
2. Golf & work on the deck are my plans
3. A beer or three might be in order too
4. I should vacuum
5. Work will follow me home too mskis, but I will be in a better frame of mind with no interruptions
 
1. I'm working in the breezy shade of my back porch for the rest of my day.
2. I wish I hadn't accepted an invitation to see a play tonight.
3. If I could fit a bed on my back porch, life would be perfect.
4. My neighborhood is turning out to be the best one I've lived in.
5. I got to have lunch with my son today.
 
1. The heat index is supposed to get up to 104 today. :-|
2. I would rather endure -20 than +100 degree temps
3. A sub for lunch sounds good
4. The phone has only rung ONCE this morning!!! yay
5. Going to grill brats tonight and serve with last night's leftover cheesy spaetzle
 
1) Guy I know in the Michigan's Upper Peninsula pointed out that yesterday's high in his town is 128 degrees higher than the lowest temperature this past winter. 128 degree swing in 6 months!
2) I don't remember the last time that my desk has been this messy.
3) Our pool at the apt building is closed right now. Being it will be some of the hottest days so far this summer, I am not really happy about that.
4) We started sorting through some of our possessions. I am excited about how much stuff we are going to get rid of... which is funny being that we are moving into a larger place.
5) We have gotten a lot of compliments about how polite our children are. But I did not realize the difference until the other day when my middle son was playing with several other kids. As they ran past someone walking in the playground gate, 4 of the kids almost ran into the adult, but my middle son stopped, said excuse me, and my oldest held the gate open for them. The woman came up to us, said that she was a retired teacher, and that she almost never sees kids with manners like that anymore. #ParentWin #OldSchoolParenting.

4. We thought about taking a drink every time Trump said "Hillary" during his speech last night, but Mrs. P said she wouldn't want to get that drunk

1. I feel like I'm getting away with something when I use one vending machine to provide change for one that won't accept a bill.
2. I hate when a complainer's father calls to make sure I understand the complaint. I understand, yeah.
3. MS4 has become the new buzzword for people who don't like how they think a development is affecting them or their property. Wetlands are out.
4. We're helping a coworker come up with all the wrong vague things to say to the guy who's conducting a background check for someone he knows.
5. I'm afraid that this morning's storm only added to humidity at my level.
 
1) Had my toe surgery yesterday - and it did hurt
2) Changed my bandage by myself today - no one else around to do it
3) It was yucky but not painful
4) Staying home today - but brought home work to read
5) May take a nap instead
 
1. On Tuesday, the CC will see the same presentation for the 4th time. CM thinks it will change their minds this time.
2. A little pissed off today. A friend of mine left me hanging last night.
3. An engineering firm just sealed their fate yesterday. They will never work on a project of mine again.
4. Going to the Inter Milan v Bayern Munich match tmrrw night in the big city.
5. The threat of a stop work order gets the ball rolling.

2. I have a parade to do next week!
3. Also have to mow the lawn, that won't be done today

3) Going on a date with Hubby this weekend - we have tickets for Jason Bourne!

1) Pediatrician wants to meet with the wife and I next week. This can't be good.
2) I am going to the gym tonight to beat the crap out of the heavy bag. *Taped hands, no gloves.
3) I think some co-workers heard my conversation with the manager of the apartment building that I live in today. No one has stopped into my office, forwarded any phone calls, sent me any e-mails, or attempted to contact me in any way.
4) Today is the last day that the kids will have a nanny, thank goodness.
5) Sometimes I think that people try to fill up their calendars because they want to feel important.
 
1. Being an extroverted introvert is difficult when you are lonely.
2. I want to go out with friends but really like being home.
3. Itty Bitty is having a fake tantrum because I took away the blanket she hit me with.
4. I have a new interim director at work. :-|
5. Former director didn't leave by his choice.:-o

3) Have a dinner with friends tomorrow night - maybe the fun evening will boost me out of my rut/doldrums

2. It's been nice having a replacement secretary this week. She's quite competent
3. Have a father & son golf tournament this weekend
4. It's national beer day and all I have in the fridge is a single can of Natty Ice and two bottles of Oberon
5. Supposed to be cooler weather this weekend. That's a relief.

1. I would try a turkey dew. Maybe that'll be the evening cocktail tonight.
2. My office mates are scarce today; I seriously considered not coming back from lunch.
3. In a perfect world, I would get to sleep in tomorrow morning. Sadly, I don't see that happening.
4. Pork chops for dinner tonight. Not too exciting but not bad.
5. It's after 3pm; that's close enough to 5, right?
 
1) Intern's last day, so we took him to lunch.
2) Took some pictures, too, and gave him some swag.:tx:
3) It's freakin' hot today! The 4 block walk to lunch had me sweating.
4) St. Arnold's :b:Oktoberfest:b: is already on the shelves. Yippee!!
5) I'm hoping to sleep in a bit tomorrow - I'm tired.
 
1. Thank baby Jesus it's Friday. It's been a week from hell.
2. I've been battling a sinus infection for a week but my schedule has made it pretty impossible to get to the doctor. Fun times.
3. Because of above I'm a tad cranky.
4. Got to tour an old building complex today. No a/c but so damn worth it.
5. I'm hoping for rain this weekend.

1) 3 people of high rank out of the office today - so it's quiet.
2) Been given contradictory views on an issue - so now I'm confused.
3) Going to get my grocery shopping done early tomorrow - it's the weekend before kiddies start back to school!
4) Traffic patterns for me won't change much - just a bit at the end will be more congested.
5) Might do some big-town-next-door siteseeing this weekend!
 
1. One of our coaches for The Girls soccer team blew his knee out last night at practice. It was not pretty (& its his b-day today).
2. Had a customer come in a insist her husband spoke to me yesterday (he did not). She called the husband to check. She was in the wrong city.
3. Get to play golf tmrrw morning for the first time in a couple of months.
4. For some reason we get a lot of calls for Customer Service billing.
5. So far, so quiet - and let's hope it stays that way today

1. I saw Phoebe Cates on Letterman a long time ago. Good thing she's pretty, because she seemed to be pretty dumb.
2. A late day inspection that would make an easy commute home is calling me.
3. I'm going to the county fair tomorrow, early, before the carnies wake up.
4. The coworkers are going crazy with after hours events.
5. When all is said and done, I really only want to know my coworkers at work. Beside, I'm old enough to be their mom.

3) Needed some retail therapy today, so went to the craft store at lunch. I feel much better now.:money::money:
4) I have Commission the day we get back from the Holiday, so no extra day off there.

2. A bridge construction area caught fire this afternoon, and 60,000 drivers have to find another way home tonight.
3. I love field work.
4. Not to happy about going to a bridal shower tomorrow.

1. Junior got invited to a sleepover tonight. I can't believe Mrs. Maister actually asked if I thought that was a good idea or not. :-|.
2. Busyness level today = 10. Productivity level =5
3. Gosh, I like salted peanuts
4. I need to get this silly pirate story done quickly.
5. Not in a very placid place at present. I can definitely feel a disturbance in the force.
 
1. It was actually in the low 60s this morning.
2. First time since April/May I've driven to work with the windows down
3. Oktoberfest is this weekend
4. Time for some brats, sauerkraut, German potato salad and strudel.
5. Busy weekend in general.
 
1. I didn't know the site was down. I feel a little guilty about that.
2. It's busy here at the new job. Lots to do; lots to read.
3. I love being busy.
4. I also love Fridays.
5. I'm scheduling a nap for tomorrow mid-day. I'm exhausted.
 
1) I am going to eat hot dogs with homemade sauerkraut for lunch today.
2) I think I need a better mouse. This one is not working all that awesome today.
3) Wife and I get to go out on a date night and the kids old nanny is babysitting this evening. She is super excited because she has not seen the boys since the end of July.
4) I bought a lawnmower last weekend and it has rained everyday since Sunday. I need to find time to mow my lawn tomorrow.
5) We ate at the local Applebees with the kids last night. The waitress was awesome and provided exceptional customer service. It is the first time we have had anything other than crappy service there.
 
1. Mom cancelled her trip because her new medicine is making feel fatigued. She's already told the doctor to change it back.
2. Big festival in downtown here tomorrow = busy day
3. I found out why the finance lady was nice - she wanted me to rewrite a few pages of the CAFR
4. Friday night spaghetti gathering at a friends house tonight...yum
5. CM just came in and said "I need to mention something to you" - then got a phone call and said nevermind
 
1) Busy weekend planned, so I'm heading to bed early tonight
2) Staff meeting today went well - breakfast was yummy
3) Tomorrow starts October - and I think I'm ready
4) Fall/Autumn is my favorite season
5) I'm not too sure about the upcoming performance meansurement talks - esp. since we don't have the buy-in from other depts
 
1. I'm biking a long section of the GAP trail that I haven't used, yet.
2. Off today so that I'm not rushed later.
3. I, too, am hating HR issues.
4. Early sunsets are making me feel like hibernating, and I don't like it.
5. As kids go, I'm pretty blessed.
 
1. Meeting with a Mortgage Loan Officer today.
2. If all goes well, I hope to make an offer tonight.
3. I believe the asking price is pretty much spot on for the 'hood. (One advantage of being a planner, kids.)
4. I won't go all the way, but I'll be very close.
5. I'll be on pins and needles until I hear something.

Bonus: I can't believe I'm going to put an offer on a 1960s split level. Never, ever in my wildest dreams.8-!:lmao:
