Daily things 5️⃣ Five Things Friday

1) I went out to look at the house last night. It has a roof, but they have not installed steps to the 2nd floor yet. I imagine they will do that soon being I should be going in next week to finalize the location of outlets and similar features. It is times like this that I wish I had a copy of the NC building code on hand. I might have to head over to permits to ask a few questions.
2) I found out that my step-brother is going through a divorce. It is the best decision he has made since I met him and I am surprised that he didn't wise up a long time ago. My dad and stepmom are excited because they get to see the kids more often. She would made accusations of my stepmom being abusive to the kids before because my stepmom gave one of them a spanking for mouthing off and throwing something at her.
3) Last night, I realized I was doing something right as a parent when my 4 year old was coloring and started to sing Barbara-Ann from the Beach Boys. :yoda:
4) I don't understand fashion in today's youth. Our nanny wears stuff that is right out of the 70's hippy generation. Oh, and mom-jean-shorts. WTF?
5) I just saw a conceptual landscape design that a coworker is putting together for our house. It is awesome and can be done in phases. My biggest fear is that my neighbors won't do much if any landscape design in their yard and mine will look like a freaking botanical garden.
