3. Cool nights + warm days = Fall around the corner.
4. 26 years in my retirement system come Monday.
5. Saw 3 bear last weekend which is the same number I saw in the wild in all my years previously.

2. People, esp. kids just want to feel included.
3. I don't want to open a gluten-free cafe but I kinda feel like I have to.

1) Short work day - we get to leave early because Monday is a holiday.

2) No leftovers available so will get lunch from deli downstairs.

3) Cousin coming for a visit next month.

4) Labor Day means it's time to start closet purging. I try to donate most of it, but sometimes I hold on to something too long and it's no longer wearable in public.

5) May go to a couple football games later in the season. Friend's kid is playing and he needs the support.

1. House should be finished in September
2. I'll be happier making the new house payment (even though it's more), than the obscene amount I now pay for the storage unit.
3. LOTS of changes around here. And more than likely some more on the way.
4. People not staying in their lane at work is practically an epidemic.
5. Today is Jimmy Buffett Day in Florida. I'm not in Florida but I'm celebrating anyway by wearing a Hawaiian shirt at work.

2) Local election here is getting "interesting". I will just leave that there. I am ticked that I still don't show up in the voter register.
3) Oldest learned last weekend that he will be Professor Snape in the HS Production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. We were excited, then a coworker informed me that sophomores almost never get speaking roles in the fall productions. We now have family coming down from Michigan and Illinois for it.
4) Looking forward to the start of College Football and the Sherrone Moore era. I think he will do great. #GoBlue
5) My Alexa is still giving us weather alerts for the Raleigh NC area and I don't know how to change it.

1. Going to the gym after work today then probably out for dinner.
2. Going to a surprise 40th bday party for a friend tomorrow night.
3. Having family over to BBQ on Sunday. Keeping it simple with some burgers and dogs/brats.
4. First year since 2014 that we are not camping over the long Labor Day weekend holiday.

1. Depending on subs of subs of contractors on one of our projects can be maddening.
2. Playing in a pickleball tournament this evening as a fundraiser for one of our own battling cancer.
3. Hoping the rain holds off tomorrow evening. Mac McAnally is playing at Latitude Margaritaville on the outdoor stage.
4. Looking forward to seeing @luckless pedestrian at ICMA.

4. Somehow the daydream of the last couple of years has turned into reality.
5. Movin' on up...to the East Coast.

1- brother can get out of mountains now so he's coming in for the weekend to shower, do laundry, watch TV and shower

4) Why are some days fun at the office, and other days a drag?

5) Hubby forgot his lunch this morning. Hope he finds something good near the office!

2) The rental company is providing a mobile AC unit for our rental because the repair guy can't get the parts until Sunday
3) Today overall was a really good day.

"RJ it?" I've not heard that term.

3. Zapp's Voodoo potato chips are really good.
4. Middle child off to Orlando to see Charli XCX.
5. Youngest is testing my patience.

"RJ it?" I've not heard that term.
"RJ" is short for @RichmondJake a long-time member and contributor to our happy clubbe. Among many other things, :wine::wine:, Jake was known for exiting the office early on Fridays, which became known as "RJ"ing, and later shortened to just RJ, as in "I think I'm going to RJ it this afternoon", trans. "I'm getting out of here now" even though it is only 12:30. Sadly, Jake passed away a few years ago and is now an Emeritus Member. We remember him fondly and appreciate the marks he left here.

Like the explanation, not the fact that he has passed. I like eponyms!

It's really hard to find anyone in our office after about 4 p.m. on Fridays. I come out of my cube, find everyone gone . . .

Jim

1) I think we are going to do some light shopping for the new house this weekend. Wife wants to find a cool looking old bed for our oldest since he will be upgraded to a queen size, thus he loses his room when someone comes to visit. We are going to check out the restore. We also plan on looking at an architectural salvage store in the City for other things. I want to find an old door to replace the pantry door and some other things to give the new place some character.

2) We missed Taco Tuesday so today will be Fiesta Friday. I make chicken tacos in the Instapot and ground beef tacos with fresh diced jalapeno peppers and lime juice mixed in with my own seasoning mix. I am not a fan of the chicken, but everyone else is.

3) I woke up at midnight last night and it was a struggle to get back to sleep. Wife was on-call and I didn't want to wake her up with my tossing and turning. So I went out onto the couch. She got called in right after her alarm went off to get up, thus I woke up for good. If I could RJ it today, I would, but I have too much going on this afternoon to make that happen.

4) This week I decided to get back into my reading about the founding fathers and revolutionary period history. However I am changing it up a bit by reading what they would have read. Fortunately, several of the founding fathers provided really good details about their book lists. First up are Cicero and John Locke.

5) For the past several years, I have worn a Garmin watch that looked like a normal watch because I wanted a simi-smart watch, but one that looked more traditional. I have a separate health & fitness tracker (Whoop) and have almost exclusively been using that data. Today however, I decided to go old school and have on the Skagen watch I bought during my honeymoon 16 1/2 years ago. I think I will upgrade it some point soon with something nicer (or perhaps ask for it as a Christmas/Birthday gift).

1- I shouldn't be surprised, but I am still amazed at the people who just drive around barricades & then gets pissed off when you stop them
2- my brother is going back up the mountain for 'resettlement' - his neighbor called late yesterday afternoon & said they had power (13 days without)
3- Oktoberfest festival in the town next door this weekend
4- need to figure out a birthday present for Mrs. P which is unfortunate because I had an idea but forgotten it
5- sitting on the deck in the evenings right now is so very nice.

3) It got really close to freezing here the past couple of mornings.
4) In getting insurance for the new place, I discovered that the agent who we worked with for our renters insurance was trying to push one company over a different one, even to the point of lying about us not being able to get coverage due to a kid who was about to turn 16. Guess who won't be getting insurance from him anymore. (yea... that would be me).
5) The election for Mayor here is getting interesting. No so much with how the candidates are behaving (both are good people) but how the followers of one of them is behaving.

Top 5 Earworm Dance/Pop songs that I want to hear right now:

1. Hello - Dragonette

2 Play That Song - Train

3. She's So Mean - Matchbox 20

4. I love it - Icona Pop

5. It Ain’t Me - Selena Gomez

I have to wait till these songs come on randomly for full effect and I have to be driving. Somehow I don't enjoy the song as much if I download it or I hear in in any venue other than in the car. So I have to hear it as it comes on the radio, preferably on the open road. Sometimes it takes months to hear a song, even with Serious/XM. It has to be on the radio, while driving on the open road with no chance of slow traffic, red lights, behind some truck, etc. But that rarely happens. In fact, it's probably been over three years since I've heard that song by Matchbox 20.
