NEVERENDING ♾️ The NEVERENDING Weather Thread

Snowed a couple inches last Friday night. It's been cold enough, though, that it still hasn't melted. Not typical of the tail end of March.
 
Pool iced over again this weekend. But yesterday was calm, sunny, and about 42. Nice day to shovel up garbage that has accumulated around the vacant house behind us.
 
It snowed all weekend and the roads were CRAP this morning on the commute. I thought it was spring...

In a related story, I have no idea how much my plow guy is charging me but he plows my long driveway every time it snows. I wonder when he's going to give me a bill...
 
It's thinking about getting hot. 96 this weekend. Another 20 degrees and I might go swimming.
 
A line of thunderstorms are coming through tonight.... I think I'll stay awake until the front rolls through... just in case.
 
I didn't stay awake... the front slowed down. I slept through it but my wife told me it was garden variety severe thunderstrorms (no tornadoes).

I slept through a tornado jumping the apartment building I was living in at the time (~25 years ago) - Mrs. Bubba managed to wake me up enough to drag me out into the hallway for shelter (that was the best we could do in that particular unit)...I still fell back asleep as soon as I sat down.

Once, my dad was working night shift. We had a tornado pass close by. My birth mom and I went to a neighbors house who had a basement. We let dad sleep through it at our house.

Went to bed to the sound of rain, it was nice. Woke up to accumulating snow. This is probably because I took the snowblower off the tractor to get ready for tilling season. It's pretty and all, but F*ck off, Nature.
 
Wind knocked a pretty big limb off the neighbor's pin oak and deposited in my backyard. I'll schlep it over to the trash to wait cutting and bundling it so our waste hauler will take it away. Might get that done this weekend, if it isn't too cold.
 
It's been below freezing for the past 3 days, this morning it was 63F.
 
This year's April Fools joke on us was waking up to an inch of snow on the ground. I am ready for spring planting and had hoped to start limited sowing in my garden this weekend. Frost hardy seeds like: spinach, lettuce, and peas. I'm also starting summer veggies this weekend inside that I intend to transplant mid-May. Things like tomatoes, cucumbers, and zucchini.
 
It spawned at least two tornadoes in the DFW area last night, one an hour east and north of us, the other about 10 miles south of us.
 
Woke up to a half inch of snow on the ground. I'm sure it'll melt by the end of today, but it's still a reminder that winter has not entirely relinquished it's grasp.
 
Stupid winter weather here on the morning of April 18th (aka 1/3 into Spring).

So I haven't actually met the plow guy since I moved in last month but he's been great at clearing the driveway every time it snows -- even before I leave for work at 7am. Last week, when it was almost 70 degrees, I texted him to say "since the winter is over, I want to be sure to square up with you". His response "yeah, winter is not over. Lol".

It snowed yesterday and is scheduled to do it again tomorrow. :| :indifferrent:

They were calling for 2" to 4" of snow here in Metro Detroit today but I wasn't believing them. It started snowing lightly while I was making lunch around an hour and a half ago. We've already got at least 1.5" out there.

I think I should walk over to the bus stop and hide behind the neighbor's bushes and destroy my daughter with snowballs when she gets dropped off.
 
Back home in the UP, it snowed. However yesterday it was in the mid 70's. I mowed the lawn and got a little pink.

Today it is raining all day (good soaking rain) and is in the 40's.

It will be 80 by the weekend.
 
Last few days it was comfortable enough to wear shorts. Over the weekend mowed the grass, put down more seed & fertilizer. I felt it was hot in the house, looked at the thermostat & its said 78. I turned on the ceiling fans (not sure when that was turned off) & turned on the AC set for 72.

Today (of course) its rainy & in the high 40s, but back to 80 this weekend.

I was told when some locals a while back to never set out you 'mater plants before Easter. Sure enough there's a frost warning tonight.

I've worn shorts a couple of times this year. My legs give a whole new meaning to a whiter shade of pale.
 
April saw temps 5.5 degrees below normal, 23 days with wind gusts 30 mph or more, 5 days 40 mph or more, and two days 50 mph or more.

That is some bullcrap.
 
2nd cloudiest April on the books here in Chicago. Certainly believable. Looks like the pattern is set to continue.
 
Haven't seen any official tally, but April certainly felt a little cooler than normal here in Metro Detroit. I know we're only a few days in to May so far, but it doesn't seem much warmer.
 
Cold and heavy downpours this morning in Chicagoland.

I'll take this over drought and wildfires though.

Windiest I can ever remember. Looks like its finally going to break this weekend and become more seasonal next week. I have not been able to bike on back to back days yet. Wow. This will be the latest thats been.

Four days biking to work this year. Four. Should be about 24 by now.
 
Overcast pretty much all week. Had yesterday off and went to the garden center. Normally, that's pretty exciting for me, but felt kinda meh in the gloom. That, and they didn't have enough bean inoculant.
