This type of post is one that I think a majority of people would agree with but are coming from a different perspective. They just disagree on which guy is the problem. And I'm sure there are few who see no difference between the two men.

I see a calm and confident Obama and petulant Trump. I've seen stuff like this posted as a smug and pretentious Obama and a defiant and principled Trump.

A family member posts lots of biblical scriptures about the wicked being punished, prideful falling and the greedy losing power and wealth. She posts them as warnings of what will soon happen to democrats or non-Trump supporters when the Trump stays in office (as she still assumes will happen). Half the time, I look at her scripture for the day and can't imagine how she's fit it to her worldview.

‘I just want to find 11,780 votes’:

In extraordinary hour-long call, Trump pressures Georgia secretary of state to recalculate the vote in his favor

Trump’s conversation with Raffensperger put him in legally questionable territory, legal experts said. By exhorting the secretary of state to “find” votes and to deploy investigators who “want to find answers,” Trump appears to be encouraging him to doctor the election outcome in Georgia.

Yet Trump also recognized that he was failing to persuade Raffensperger or Germany of anything, saying toward the end, “I know this phone call is going nowhere.”

Trump begs the SoS of GA to alter the vote count..."c'mon, no one is going to question it"

Even as the last few glowing embers of his administration die, he still somehow manages to hit the Outrage button.:r:

...and Paul Ryan (remember Paul Ryan) said this:

"Efforts to reject the votes of the Electoral College and sow doubt about Joe Biden’s victory strike at the foundation of our republic," Ryan said in a statement. "It is difficult to conceive of a more anti-democratic and anti-conservative act than a federal intervention to overturn the results of state-certified elections and disenfranchise millions of Americans. The fact that this effort will fail does not mean it will not do significant damage to American democracy."

SDNY is prepared to file on Jan 20 at 1 pm.
I don't think it will matter and I doubt anything will come of it. It would be wonderful if it did result in something, but there is so much corruption with him I think it will be a waste of time and money.

So the VEEP has stated that "we" (not sure who "we" exactly is) will hear the evidence of voter fraud on Wednesday. Local, state and federal law enforcement found none but magically I guess Congress is going to. With that plus the results of Tuesday's runoff in Georgia (I get the ads on TV, it is vicious. The very existence of America is in the hands of Georgians!. At least that's what we're being told) it's going to be a shitshow of monumental proportions until January 20th.

The head proud boy was arrested yesterday when he went to DC due to his actions during his last visit. However he's been posting on Parler.

Tarrio, using a military phrase, vowed last week in a message on the right-wing Parler social media platform that there would be 1,000 Proud Boys “boots on the ground” at the protest. He also warned that the members of the group would not be wearing their signature black and yellow uniforms but would go “incognito” to avoid detection.

We talked about this at work a little bit. My boss said based on what he's read that even if for some reason Congress rejects the electoral vote, it would still take judicial action to prevent Biden from being sworn into office on the 20th. The date won't move and they have until then to do whatever they want to do to try to challenge the vote or the process, but that's a hard deadline. Assuming that's true, it is somewhat reassuring.

One of my distant relatives responded to one of those poll questions on Facebook yesterday about whether Biden legally won the election. I was horrified to read how many of my family members truly believe the election was stolen from Trump. They believe the evidence is there and all these entities that are charged with reviewing it are just refusing to do so. I don't watch enough of the ultra-conservative media to know how it's being spun in the news that they share. But truly, at this point, there is literally no investigation outcome that would convince these folks that Trump did in fact lose the election "fair and square."

1000 "boots on the ground"? Is that five hundred losers or what?

Bubba will always hold the bragging rights for most annoying election season in terms of advertising, TV, and all the garbage that goes with it from all the candidates.

I never thought I'd be glad to see the lawyer commercials back on TV. But it's literally been non-stop political ads for these Georgia Senate races.

I live in CA and got some "get out the vote" texts meant for my family in Atlanta. My poor family members must be drowning in the texts, flyers, ads. etc.

While I know it's bad...there's nothing like the deluge of ads than begin a year or more before the NH presidential primary (and I'm sure it's bad in Iowa too)...it's the worst because there are so many candidates until the Iowa Caucuses and NH Primary start the narrowing process.

scary schedule and recent firing - but nothing happens - if Biden does anything, he needs to set up some accountability process - like the President can't fire the Ethics Commission first of all maybe

Scotland's Leader Says Trump Wouldn't Be Allowed To Visit Under Pandemic Rules

"We are not allowing people to come in to Scotland without an essential purpose right now and that would apply to him, just as it applies to anybody else," Sturgeon said after being asked about Trump on Tuesday.
"Coming to play golf is not what I would consider to be an essential purpose."

So the question becomes: What will the Democrats do with the presidency and both houses of Congress in their control?

Ok Boomer.

Nixon was our greatest president. Second only maybe to Andrew Johnson or Bill Clinton..............

..........................lol JK!! the only good Presidents we ever had were Honest Abe and FDR.

If I was around in 8/74, Id have been too Glam to care about the news, and would have probably have also been on quaaludes because Id have been shell-shocked from being drafted in Vietnam and would have turned to drugs and glam rock as escapism. I would have been working class from South Philadelphia, and without the luxury or possibility of getting a student deferment. I would have become a VVAW activist when I got back stateside and would have naturally hated Nixon / probably voted Carter in 76, but for the Gus Hall and the Communist Party in '80.

Looks like Ossoff will get the win this AM and Warnock was called last night.

Should be an interesting Wednesday over there in DC.

The draft ended in 1972. I was a HS soph and a few of the senior boys had to register.

It's going to be an utter, complete shitshow today. I'm giving even odds tRump attempts to use the Insurrection Act some time over the next 14 days. A war with Iran may well be in the offing to boot.

You will tell your grandkids you lived through this someday.

Men born from March 29, 1957 - December 31, 1959 were not required to register with Selective Service because the registration program was suspended when they would have reached age 18.
The requirement to register with Selective Service was reinstated in 1980 but only for men born January 1, 1960, or later.

Richard Nixon (R) was the most environmentally protective president that he have ever had.

For me, my top five are as follows:
  1. Washington
  2. Lincoln
  3. Jefferson
  4. Kennedy
  5. Reagan

The biggest reason I have Washington over Lincoln is because he set the course for so much and did not believe in party politics. He had the potential to be appointed King of the US, but turned it down and in the end voluntarily chose to not run again. Few have that level of Character... the current guy in office has NONE of that character.

I took a course on NEPA, and one of the most interesting things I learned is that neither Nixon nor Muskie realized just how much administrative power they were creating or how far-reaching the EPA would be.

@kms - also...What the Hell PA?

Yeah, so many things have been frightening to me in this election year and that just tipped me over the edge in a pool of anxiety

lol, but really tho

adding:

Cruz saying "nearly half the country" is the same phrase flat earthers use when they say they have supporter around the globe - nearly half, Ted, really? not a majority...

To be factual:

USA population = ~328,000,000
Trump's votes in 2020 election = ~74,000,000

[/doing maths]

74,000,000/328,000,000 = 22.6%

True story.

And that's only if every damn one of the infamous 74M believes tRump. I've read somewhere near 1/3 believe Biden won fair and square.
