NEVERENDING ♾️ The NEVERENDING Gas Price Thread

I got $1.97 at the local Speedway this morning and filled up.

Well mostly filled as the card readers on the pumps weren't 'reading' correctly. I'm sure they weren't rationing though. Just an odd accidental timing. :smirk:

I did start seeing some sub-$2 prices this past weekend. Don't know if any place has gotten to below $1.90 yet, though.

Hard to believe that Atlanta once had the lowest gas prices in the nation.

Damn. Still above $2.50 / gallon around here. THe Syracuse area, about 60 miles away, is 20¢ / gallon cheaper. This area has traditionally had very expensive gas prices for upstate New York; usually close to the average price in the NYC area.

$1.85 last night.

Shell has a member benefits program that offers 5 cents off a gallon, and in September they start a promo called Big Ten Tuesdays. Ten cents off a gallon, runs through the end of basketball season.
Not being a sports fan, I add it to my calendar so I get a Tuesday morning reminder. BUY GAS.
Looks like the cancellation of the NCAA stuff means that BTT has ended for the year. Still, I paid about $4.25 on Sunday March 8.

I paid $0.79 a gallon - wiping out my loyalty points and filling up to the brim.

It was worth it to go the extra 5 miles (each way) out of my way to save. And if the directors make a decision to allow more/require all telecommuting, this tank will last at least 3 weeks.

So this was 2 weeks ago. I'm at the end of Week 2, and still have 3/4th of a tank. I think I'm good for another couple of weeks, especially since we're WFH again next week.

$1.789 today. Can’t remember the last time it was that low. Unfortunately, I don’t need any.

Down another dime to $1.54.

It's dropped 50 cents per gallon since the first of March.

The same store was down to $1.50 yesterday morning. This morning, that store had raised the price up to $1.65

However, look at this store in Ohio - hink, is that you in line?

However, the cashier at my grocery store told me how many loyalty points I had, and where to go to get the gas discount. I paid $0.79 a gallon - wiping out my loyalty points and filling up to the brim.

So that was 4 weeks ago. I'm at just under 1/2 a tank. My little hybrid is a gas sipper anyway - and now that I'm not driving to work, the only activity it sees is on weekends.

I think we are at $1.39. I have noticed that with no where to go except work, gas station, home and grocery store, I'm using a lot less gas. All filled up and no where to go.:r:

I noticed when I ran past a gas station this morning that it was up to $2.05/gallon. That's the first I've seen it above $2.00 in quite a while. FWIW, I haven't bought gas since March 24th when I paid $1.89/gallon.

It's $2.20 around here. The news just did a piece on Arizona having the 11th highest gas price with some of the lowest gas taxes. Some places go as high as $2.54. Low gas prices my @ss.

$2.20 today. While watching a movie with my son last night (1987s Dragnet) there was a gas station with .71 and .74 per gallon. Probably filmed in late 1986 or early 1987.

$1.92 yesterday at the membership warehouse. $2.04 elsewhere. I heard a market report a couple weeks ago that said consumers should expect to pay increasingly higher prices for gasoline throughout the summer.

Around here, gas prices have still not fallen to the sub-$2/gallon level. $2.08 is the lowest I've seen it, and that's the gas station where shit is always going down. Nobody that hangs out there wears masks, and there's zero social distancing. It's a Mobil, too. Anywhere I go, shit's always going down at a Mobil.

It has been a consistent $2.19.9 for weeks. I have put 1800 miles on a new car I bought on January 25. 800 of those miles on two trips.

I actually have no clue what my local place is charging. I'm still on the same tank of gas from mid-May.

Amazing what WFH and quarantine will do to your gas bill.

Yep, but what about the beer budget? :p

That's stayed generally the same, but I did add in a few bucks (relative term) for a bottle of wine with every beer purchase.

What has really gone up is the coffee consumption. Between Hubby and myself, I'm buying speciality coffee every month (boxes at a time) rather than quarterly. We will drink store-bought coffee, but agreement on flavor is limited.

It is what it is when it comes to gas prices so I don't really look either. It would have to rise exponentially for me to really alter any of my habits.
