NEVERENDING ♾️ The NEVERENDING Gas Price Thread

I was a little suprised on our trip up to Maine. The prices I saw in Portland were around $5.20, while prices at the isolated, touristy coastal towns seemed to be around $5.10. I figured it would be the other way around.

We're around $4.30 down here, but there's been talk of pausing state gas taxes which would probably drop us down a dime a gallon.

Locally, the Sheetz is selling 88 for $3.99. I checked and it appears I am run it in my truck. So, I am going to give it a shot.

$3.94 with the club discount at Parker's a few minutes ago. Our gas tax also went up $.02 on July 1st so not that bad all things considered I guess.

$4.76 in Pine Beach yesterday. The Parkway was charging $4.92.

Paid $5.21 for half a tank this morning in Chicagoland (specifically DuPage County).

That's actually pretty nice given recent months' prices.

Most stations I've seen recently are a nickel north or south of $4.909. It seems we are always among the first to rise and the last to fall.

Last I filled up it was $4.80/gal, I see now it’s $4.70. That’s at the AGO which used to amoco which used to be BP. I avoid the discount sellers, cheap sad gasoline imo.

$3.299

$3.88 earlier this week. Down about a dollar a gallon from a high of nearly $5 back in June

The VW went into the shop today for timing belt, water pump, and AC work. Should be done in a couple days. Which means driving my Tundra to work in the interim. Thankfully gas prices have come down some around here. 14 mpg is kinda painful at $5/gal.

Bought my first gas for under $3 a gallon today. Paid $2.99.9. A few of the low cost fueling stations made the jump, but many of the others range from $3.26-3.50. So I think it might be a bit more about marketing.

It has spiked $0.40/gal here in the past 10 days or so, to $3.959/gal. Not sure what prompted it (beyond greed, I mean).
