I wonder if this guy's business plan acknowledges "right wing nut jobs will pay stupid prices for piss water if you offer it as the alternative to woke" and laughs all the way to the bank.
 
Holy crap, $25 for a six pack of beer? That better be some damn good beer that I'll never try because I'm happy with a $10 6 pack of anything else.

I looked it up. It's all a cash grab.

He makes two beers. Ultra right and Revenge. It looks like a limited run thing partnering with Big Kettle Brewing which seems to be a custom brewing build your brand kind of place. I'm not seeing any distribution. Just online sales plus lots of merch. Not available in Georgia where it's brewed! Ha!

Update, it looks like they'll have it on store shelves in May.

Also, the CEO is a former political consultant.

I'm not touching on Trumpy beers. But, Glen (the main brewmaster at Big Kettle, who I guess produces these on a contract basis) is was a huge presence here in Georgia at the beginning of the brewpub scene. His heavily German-influenced beers at the late, great Phoenix Brewpub were an eye-opener for 25-year old Bubba...
 
The "innovation" in the craft beer industry is getting a little out of hand. At a restaurant I'd never been to the menu listed "IPA of the day", and not priced except to say market price like some special catch of fish.
When I asked for its name the server launched into a description so long and special term laden that I lost interest, waved it off and called for ice water.
 
Sycamore Brewery (Charlotte) released their annual (naughty labeled) holiday season beer. It is a spiced IPA that I'm glad I tasted, but don't need to purchase...except for the label. Sycamore does a "naughty" label every year with hidden images (like find a picture type stuff). Looking at this year's label was kinda hard to find until you see it. BUT when you see it, you always see it.
 
I've lost my taste for beer. After being sick and giving up drinking for over a year, I had a beer a few weeks ago, and could not stand the taste.
 
There is an INSANE number of beers from Buffalo area craft breweries with Buffalo Bills themes. They can't say "Buffalo Bills" on them, because the breweries aren't official sponsors of the team. Still, they skirt the edges of trademark violations in creative ways.

Mrs. Bubba's extended family is scattered around Buffalo and the farm country south of the city - there's a three month window during the summer during which I'm amenable to heading up that way to visit any of them.
 
A buddy of mine gifted me a bottle of New Glarus Brewing Company's Spotted Cow (saison) and their Totally Naked (American lager). I had heard good things about Spotted Cow and wanted to try it for quite some time, namely because of the name. Two things stood in my way, New Glarus doesn't distribute outside of Wisconsin and I haven't made it to Wisconsin. Both beers were good solid examples of their respective styles but neither was a life changing experience.

I toured the New Glarus Brewery some 30+ years ago. The beer that most sticks out in my memory was a sort of bock beer called Uff-da

They are 12th largest microbrewery in the country producing almost a quarter million barrels of beer annually. The don't distribute outside of Wisconsin. That's like 11 beers for every man, woman, and child in the state.

But I feel like a decent percentage of that is taken out of state. And when you're in Wisconsin its hard to find a place that doesn't sell it.

North Carolina has a handful of breweries that do more volume but they all distribute out of state. You are probably correct about the amount that goes out of state. It's the Coors effect of limited distribution area.

I made a decision to do a 30 day challenge at the gym.

One of the 8 habits is "No Alcohol", so I am going to see what non-alcohol beers I can find for this month. Are there any that people really like?

My FIL drinks non-alcoholic beer... he's also in his 80s and worries about something in the alcohol messing with some medications he's on. I don't know many people under that age who go fo the non-alcoholic stuff.

He used to buy the 0% Heineken which I thought was pretty terrible the time I tried it. Now he buys the non-alcoholic stuff from Athletic Brewing Co. and I've tried their "pale ale" and the "Golden" and I thought both were pretty good actually. I don't know that I'd go out of my way to buy those at the store but they also have a bunch of more interesting flavors like some fruity gose and sour non-alcoholic beers. If I ever saw those at the store, I'd consider them.
 
I was told the Sierra Nevada no-alcoholic beer was decent.


Oktoberfest beers are out in full swing. Have had a couple different ones. Our local brewery brews one that's very good.
 
I have had Guinness Zero in the past and I was surprised at how good that was. But that was it.

It would be great to find an NA english porter or a dark brown ale.
 
Rogue Brewery (since 1986) in Newport, Oregon has closed. Both breweries and their 3 pubs ceased all operations last week.

Evidently they owed $500k in rent to the city of Newport and some $36k in taxes.

I called my brother in the mountains here to go by Ingles & pick up a couple of 6=packs of Dead Guy Ale & Batsquatch IPA - I had bought those up there in the past. He was able to pick up some, so I have given a couple away to beer friends and drank a couple.
