Russian owner of Chelsea gives ‘stewardship’ of team to their charitable foundation.
Charitable foundation says ‘no so fast’ ...
This is like the Olympics letting Russia compete under no flag. It is a cop-out. Glad to see that at least FIFA has the guts to do what is right. I feel for these athletes, but in the end, they live and compete for a country that is now a pariah and they have to be punished as well.Starting with Sweden, Poland & Czech Rep refusing to play the Russians. Great move.
Then FIFA saying they could play as RFU & without national flag. Cop-out.
Glad they have now said NO.
I do hope that Ukraine will still be able to field a team & base out of another country. Hell, let them train in US. That ought to piss off Putin.
Dubious officiating in a MLS match? Get out...The new MLS team played their first real match.
CLT FC played well but lost to a dubious pen, a deflection & a pinball. Also had a goal disallowed for offside & a no call pen.
Not the result we wanted, but it was a promising start.
Dubious officiating in a MLS match? Get out...
A depleted Five Stripes side beat Sporting KC 3-1 in their opener, with a shaky backline and Guzan looking awful, and also without Josef scoring. That's a damn good start to the season.
I'm really hoping his performance wasn't a preview of how he'll play the rest of the season.Yes, ole Guz is starting to show his age.
Liga MX has absolutely hammered the Querétaro club over this.
Torn achilles, out for the rest of the season.Yes, ole Guz is starting to show his age.
The Everton v Chelsea match was very good. Everton needed to eek out that win to have a chance to stay out of relegation. I wonder how Pickford's face feels today?
I had an odd dream last night where I was sitting at a desk with Jurgen Klopp, eating a sandwich and talking tactics.
1 point separates Man City & Liverpool for the PL Champs with one game to play.
My Aston Villa plays Man City. Villa have really nothing to play for except Big Bad spoiler, which will be a great way to end the season for their manager - ex-Liverpool great Stevie Gerrard. It's even better (if Villa win) that they're playing @ Man City!
Liverpool host Wolves for their last match of league season.
At the other end of the table - Norwich & Watford are already relegated. Waiting to see if Burnley, Leeds or Everton go down too. My hope is Burnley.
Really hoping Everton goes down. Love to see big payroll fails.
Everton just beat Palace (& were down 0-2 but came back). They're safe now.
Burnely in a draw with Villa today (right now) so points are even with Leeds, but goal diff will put Leeds down. Big day Sunday!!!
Did you go Mormon us. Having brother husbands instead of sister wives? My goal is to see Neuer play in person next year...and to get him to marry me.
It is Neuer's heavenly duty to honor my priestesshood and covenant.Did you go Mormon us. Having brother husbands instead of sister wives?
Dayum...that's a lot of @mendelman collectable coinage right there.$5.33 billion
Hey @Planit - what the heck is going on with Charlotte FC?

Expansion Charlotte fires coach Ramírez after slow start
Charlotte fired coach Miguel Angel Ramírez on Tuesday just 14 league games into the season. Ramírez was hired by owner David Tepper to lead the Major League Soccer expansion club and was dismissed after five wins, eight losses and one draw in league games. I have no idea. Very short & sweet press release with no details.
Their match in Seattle was okay for 65 minutes. As soon as Seattle scored, CLTFC folded it seemed.
Must have been some bust up on the airplane ride home.
I'll be inquiring with a couple friend season ticket holders.
Seems weird during an expansion season. What did they think they were going to get this year? Must be more to it.
