For this old retired planner, what is this "pin and pixel album cover" that you speak of ?
Shouldn't it be the opposite of aggressive? Like a nice structured merge. Why does alternate merge need to be so aggressive?
Well, we don't really want them getting too close, shall I say . . . But I don't think she's interested in him anyway. They do get along really well as best friends. (Rio and our previous female, Jensen, barely tolerated each other, but what's weird is he was noticibly sad when she passed.)How can he woo the ladies without a nesting box? I mean it's where all the magic happens.

Poor Rio got friend zoned, but he'll still try.Well, we don't really want them getting too close, shall I say . . . But I don't think she's interested in him anyway. Remark that dandy is posting in the wrong thread and should instead be posting in the neverending gif battle thread.

Nikoネコ sohu ソフ- as written in katakana, which is used for foreign words. Second could be ンフ which is "nhu" but does not make sense to me. Two similar characters but written slightly different. Niko is "cat" but not sure what "sohu" or "nhu" conveys. Thought "niko" was Japanese, so not foreign, but appears to be culturally appropriate to use the katakana form. Catzilla would be カトジラ katogira. My best guess, anyway.
I only learned recently that she was the vocalist for "Different Drum" by the Stone Poneys. It makes perfect sense - her vocalizations are pretty unique - but it had never occurred to me before. I like the song even better now.Sometimes you hear a voice that's so good it brings tears to your eyes. Linda has such a voice. Just got this disc and it's simply fabulous. Years ago I only knew her for her rock songs, but when she goes full country she's in the very top echelon of singers in my opinion. I Can't Help It (If I'm Still In Love With You) is just otherworldly good.

The folks in the City of Houston Planning Department would like a word.Ironic that the 2027 National Planning Conference will be in Houston, a city with no planning.
I'm likely to skip that one; I've been to Houston enough times. (Hey! Wasn't it supposed to be in Houston in 2020 anyway, but didn't happen for obvious reasons?)

They have planning, just not traditional zoning. The folks in the City of Houston Planning Department would like a word.
I did a conference session on this last year--the myth of unzoned Houston, and understanding of pure performance-based zoning methods. I've often said many of the best planners I've met have worked in Houston, because they have learned to do without the crutch of traditional zoning. They have planning, just not traditional zoning.
I am sure we will learn all about it at #npc27.I did a conference session on this last year--the myth of unzoned Houston, and understanding of pure performance-based zoning methods. Explain? Does the company you work for do work for Houston? Cuz I thought you're in DFW.I'm so glad I don't have to defend the City of Houston's Planning Dept. any more!
Our HOA (Nevada) is hit or miss on enforcement. That should be a whole separate thread!!I worked for the Houston Planning Dept. many years ago.
They may not have zoning, but their subdivision and HOA rules are strict!
Would getting a cat be better or volunteer at a shelter ?Life is feeling a bit out of sorts and chaotic lately so of course I suggested we get a puppy. Can't have a human baby so might as well get a furry one. 🤪
Probably won't happen but fun to think about a chubby puppy belly. And chewed up everything. And potty accidents. And more barking. And more food. And more poop bags.

Yeah, it's TBTis' the time of year where I ask myself - is it a cold or is it just allergies.
My mother-in-law is on this gig service where she babysits cats and dogs. She actually has quite a few regulars! The best of both worlds is to foster pets. A lot of cities and rescue orgs will pay expenses for the animal and if you need to travel or whatever, they can take the animal back temporarily. Best case scenarios are you are a serial foster for several dogs or cats, all of which eventually get adopted into furever homes, or you really bond with a foster and adopt it eventually (aka "foster fail"). Worst case scenario is someone else adopts a pet you care for very much, or you have to give the pet back because it's problematic. In all of those cases you're a hero though.
My too. Since Monday is a holiday, those of us on 4/10's revert to 5/8s with the holiday off rather than our usual day off (Tuesday in my case). Our work week begins on Fridays (for some reason lost to history), so beginning Friday, I work 730-1630, and will be off Monday, then 730-1630 Tuesday through Thursday before returning to my 700-1730 on Friday.Different work schedule this week and next. WFH today, which is normally a day off, but working as I am taking Tuesday off as my youngest graduates HS. WFH Wednesday but do have a doctor appointment. Off Thursday for same son's surgery. In-office Friday. Off next Monday for Memorial Day but since that is my normal day off, I take another day off which will likely be Tuesday. WFH Wednesday and Thursday and in-office Friday.
Is that a 1st world problem ?Haven't yet figured out how to fully capitalize on the upcoming three-day weekend.
