My folks took away my encyclopedia set one time. I was heated.
I had a babysitter ban me from the dictionary once for claiming my grandfather had written it.

I said no such thing--I said my grandfather was the chief etymologist. Which he was, and that was his name in the front.

Banishment was overridden. (Besides, that's a really odd thing to lie about.)

Your consciousness exists independent of your brain and survives bodily death. Our brains are simply biological interfaces with that consciousness.

I got a new cell phone--same provider, same WiFi--and now I can't access Cyburbia from it. I get a "blocked IP" address.

I guess it'll be only my laptop or work computer for now.

Looking at buying an e-bike & a new phone.

Don't need either one, but both will be major upgrades. My phone is an iPhone10R.

Got you beat with an iphone 8.

JNA still will be the winner of oldest phone.

When is the last time (approximately) you can recall using a rotary dial phone?

I want to say it was in the early-mid 90s. 30 years at a minimum.

I wasnt hungry when I woke up and left my apartment... Now, I am at work and I am hungry.

We should really have an omlette bar with Chef in City Hall....

Looking over some paperwork that we had not unpacked, we discovered that we still had a title for my wife’s vehicle from the old state.

This morning I stood in line outside for over an hour at our county clerks office because that is what the state website says to do. Finally get up to the counter for them to tell me, “No, you need to mail this into the state.” We don’t do that here anymore.

I called the state this morning and confirmed the details…

I am sitting in a waiting room at the hospital for a “advanced CT scan” where they will be running the scan and giving me a drug that will speed up my heart to see what happens. I am frankly a little nervous about them speeding up my heart. After all, I am here because of some recent concerns from my cardio sessions.

Wife said that it uses newer technology that she is not familiar with.

Well at least YOU know what part of the body is being scanned.

That song is so derivative. I mean it sounds just like every other freaking hit song released by every freakin' group of French nuns out there. Real cookie-cutter formulaic stuff
My folks were a little older parents than most of my peers so we grew up with AM radio on in the kitchen all day long. This was one I heard a lot and I thought it was catchy when I was a kid and now when I hear it I always smile and think of those days.

2007ish... It was in my kitchen. I took it down to do a light remodel of the space and it never made it back.

I have had several years of contrasting dye CT scans - my Ascending Aortic Aneurysm is "stable" -

Are any of you worried or scared for me because of that?

Good luck! It is good that you are taking care of yourself.

They just put the IV in and clarified that it is “Advanced Angiogram” and some other words that I don’t understand.

As they were putting the IV in, tube that connects to the needle popped out and sprayed blood all over when they put a bit of some solution into it. Not a good start…

It's not old man gibberish if I understand it
From Blazing Saddles

Now who can argue with that? I think we're all indebted to Gabby Johnson for clearly stating what needed to be said. I'm particulary glad that these lovely children were here today to hear that speech. Not only was it authentic frontier gibberish, it expressed a courage little seen in this day and age.

They are not sure what is going on. There have been several occasions where I have had some chest pressure or pain, shortness of breath, and a little light headed feeling when I am doing zone 3 cardio… but it clears up very quickly as soon as I stop activity.

I can do strength training without issues, and even long walks at zone 1 are fine.
