I made bacon in the microwave last night, to go with the po-ta-toes, and I should have known better. Not good at all.My preferred method of making bacon.
1. Put bacon in a cast iron skillet.
2. Bake this at 375º until it's done the way you like it. I like mine very crispy.
3. Save the bacon grease for another time.
Bacon is better when it's boiled in its own oil.I made bacon in the microwave last night, to go with the po-ta-toes, and I should have known better. Not good at all.
Your method sounds much better!
I ordered some Carolina Gold rice. Has anyone used it before?
I feel like it should be for company, but what fun is that?yes, it's not bad
as my Great Aunt Dolores used to say: whose better than us?I feel like it should be for company, but what fun is that?
Indeed. At home I normally do it up but since I am at my parents I didn't want to make another dish.Bacon is better when it's boiled in its own oil.
I learned to make these this year - the ones I made for Thanksgiving were fabulous but I forgot to put the sugar in the ones for Christmas and they were not as good
Reminds me to take ours in and get a tune-up.I got my KitchenAid mixer in 1986. I can't imagine how many rotations it's made, but until I lived by myself, I used it at least once a week, more before I went back to work. As contractors say, "you have to use that iron so it can pay for itself". This mixer paid for itself many times over.
Don't use yours to make mashed potatoes. It's too powerful. Use a potato ricer instead.
I use Nick Malgieri's recipe. My family not only loves then, they requested them. Except my sister, who prefers Brown and Serve.I learned to make these this year - the ones I made for Thanksgiving were fabulous but I forgot to put the sugar in the ones for Christmas and they were not as good
We went to a dessert buffet a few years ago and it was scrumptious.I read about a couple of dessert bars around town. They sell desserts by the portion instead of whole. The one I want to try is the farthest from here, but distance won't hinder me.
People take them to get tune-ups? Not to be confused with turnips.Reminds me to take ours in and get a tune-up.
Did you prepare them using a recipe in a cook-book?We had baked po-ta-toes for dinner last night.

I suspect her food will be of the liquid variety to-day.Will Mrs. Maister be able to eat the hot d'oeuvres post dental surgery?
Perhaps you should get some dips.

I bought leggings yester-day. But I did not do yoga. What if you wore leggings? Would that leave many begging?
Liquid party sausages does not sound appealing. Perhaps you should liquify some Buffalo Chicken Dip. (And po-ta-to chips).I suspect her food will be of the liquid variety to-day.
I think dips are a good NYE food. I might go get some Buffalo Chicken Dip and some po-ta-to chips.

I'll have to see how many people I can get rid of after lunch.
That, frankly, sounds off-putting.Liquid party sausages does not sound appealing. Perhaps you should liquify some Buffalo Chicken Dip. (And po-ta-to chips).
