RTDNTOTO 🐻 Random Thoughts Deserving No Thread Of Their Own 20 (2025)

So this is off topic, as if anything is on topic in this thread, but still...

There is a guy at my gym. Nice enough guy, but I can not stand it when he is in the sauna. I don't know how much pot this guy smokes, but the smell is horrible when he is in there. Once he gets out, it dissipates quite quickly. This has occurred 3 times now.

I had it with Verizon on so many levels... to the point that I have filed a complaint with the FTC.
About a month ago, we gave up and switched from Verizon to AT&T. The coverage for Verizon was ridiculous with no sign that it was going to get any better. AT&T was not awesome, but better than Verizon. AT&T also had a promo that would make our bill less than what we were paying Verizon, so we jumped.

Verizon e-mails us that we have our final bill, and it is quite a bit. I go to log into our account, and it won't give me access because I am not a current customer anymore. I call them. At first they refused to even give us details, and refused to send us a copy of the final bill. We asked for it electronically if possible (speed) but they don't have the ability to do that. Finally after 90+ minutes and going through 3 staff, they agreed to send us a paper bill, and that it will be there in less than 5 days. Today was day 7 and it still as not arrived. I call today and they they said that it will be at last two weeks (from today) for us to receive a paper copy of the bill with the itemized items on it. But the payment is due this weekend. Guess who isn't getting paid.

AIB above longevity postings -

I have been a Cyburbian for 22 years.

As noted in Face Book, we got another puppy this past week. She came to us from a rescue and was a stray and is very young and spunky. Our 6 year old lab mix is getting use to her and they spent the past couple days playing... until last night that is. They were playing and the puppy's back leg slid under a lower shelf for our coffee table and started yelping something horrible. We picked her up and she seemed fine, but would not put weight on it. We decided to see what a good night's sleep would do. This morning was no better. A trip to the animal hospital and a $400 bill, we learned that she has a hairline fracture. The vet explained that it would heal on it's own but did give us some pain meds. She also noted that since she was a stray, she likely didn't have as good of nutrition and that the food that we are giving her will really help her rebound quickly.

Go figure... we get her on Wednesday and she already broke a bone...

Just got off a long weekend of everyone else on the team working and me cheering them on because I don't know how to do all the database, GIS, and accounting updates they were doing to set up the new fees. Go team.

Woo just got into the office after a long weekend down in the Commonwealth - love going there to see my Mass peeps but happy to head north

Poor baby.

Cut my finger yesterday slicing open a roll. BAND-AID® needed for a few days. Remember when they came with a small red string you would pull to open the wrapper?

Sending out my son's wedding invites and commented to the Mrs. - remember when we had to lick stamps? Some people will never know.

My fair city does not have a Waffle House.
I know they are in Indianapolis. Not sure how much they intend to expand there footprint, none in Chicago, Northern Illinois, Wisconsin. Never stopped at one in my travels, not sure if I ever will. Probably make better waffles at home and can have real Maple Syrup which I'm pretty sure they don't carry.

We've got maybe two Waffle Houses that I've seen in the Phoenix area. I think we're too far west.

Just flew back from North Carolina (and boy, are my arms tired!)

I see we are back up.

Tried a Waffle House. Meh. I have no idea what the hype is all about.

Jim
When you have other options, Waffle house is 3 out of 10 at best, but where it shines is 2 am to 5 am, it's a solid 9 out of 10 by default. 10 out of 10 if you have been drinking.

You don't go to Waffle House for the waffles.

Zero points for me as well.

The missing #19 should have been: Crouched off to the side of the console television and served as your father's human remote control
