I couldn't agree more, and let's get rid of grey floors.omg the replacement of the apartment beige to cool grey with the house flipping community must stop
Grey kitchens, grey walls, and grey floors. Give me wood, white, and a stone countertop all day.I couldn't agree more, and let's get rid of grey floors.
My 5th grade teacher was named Edna.My wife has an Aunt Edna.
I know a 4th grade teacher named Edna.![]()
Nothing screams "flip" like that gray wood-grain vinyl floorboard stuff.I couldn't agree more, and let's get rid of grey floors.
Those things always looked like torture devices so not surprised it hasn't been snatched yet. Cool hood, though.Passed this house on my walk this morning. Looks like they made it to 10 April with their New Year's resolution.

I mailed my check yesterday. Since the kids are old enough to not need child care services, that deduction is gone.Officially paid the IRS taxes for the first time in my life.

Well, until I moved here and got to know my neighbors... me.Who else besides me does not know anybody named Edna?
I hate black and white with a passion not frequently seen the mortal world. It's especially bad in neighborhoods that had a nice combination of various brick schemes with complementing trim colors that are black-and-white-ified one by one.I don't love the boringness of black and white, but you can't argue the longevity.
Painted brick = eyeball twitch from me. At least change the black paint for USFS brown.I hate black and white with a passion not frequently seen the mortal world. Yep, and maybe even an off-white instead of pure white for the main color.Painted brick = eyeball twitch from me. At least change the black paint for USFS brown.
Oh that brick can go right to heck. In my mind's eye the yellow brick goes with a cheap tin room and jalousie windows.Yep, and maybe even an off-white instead of pure white for the main color.
Of course my house is painted brick, but I've seen the original brick color and trust me, the paint is an improvement. The original brick was kind of a baby diarrhea yellow.![]()

I like the mechanics of them. I have only ever seen one house (now long gone0 up here in northern New England that had them. I bet they rattled in the winter wind!Wait. I have jalousie windows! I like the look from a nostalgic perspective, but they're not very good at being windows. They are drafty and transmit too much noise from outside. I've been thinking about replacing them.

Since I am retired, do I need to keep individual contact info from work?
Never did anything social with any of them outside of work, they are all married with their own family activities.
Should delete even any FB friends?
You never met most of us. I hope you don't delete us.Since I am retired, do I need to keep individual contact info from work?

Just unfollow them. No need to burn the bridges. If something comes up that someone wants to get in touch with you, that contact is still there.Since I am retired, do I need to keep individual contact info from work?

I never friend someone that I work with. I'm friends with one or two now they've left or retired, but I don't like the idea of stuff I post on FB coming back to work.Work people are hard. I get along well with work people....but am notoriously bad at keeping up with them when i leave or they leave. When I retire, I can only think of a handful I will want to see once in a while. Delete? That feels....permanent. I vote keep them just in case you need help moving a couch!![]()

Yea... ours was gone years ago. Our hit was my daughter coming off of "child" status and mere dependent... and me not updating my W-4 from my prior employer to accommodate. Lesson learned.I mailed my check yesterday. Since the kids are old enough to not need child care services, that deduction is gone.
Yo any good restaurant or cafe recommendations in chicagoland? Thinking about taking a trip out there this summer for a concert, and the foodie in me wants to plan.
It's like getting into Harvard. Either you're a genius or you're related to someone. How difficult is it to be admitted as a student to Oxford?
Anything other than the obligatory deep dish? You're pretty much obligated to get a Chicago style deep dish pizza when you're there. Sure it's touristy, but mandatory all the same. I recommend Lou Malnati's, but some swear by Giordano's
My family went to Giodano's. There are some good German restaurants. You should go to the Berghoff. As for the rest, I've been gone too long. FWIW, we never did a Chicago dog. We ate brats. There's normally some pretty good Greek food up there. If you want to venture out into the older neighborhoods, you can go to a neighborhood tavern. Pequods is good too, single location, the others are chains, and at least Giordanos has a pretty big footprint. You're pretty much obligated to get a Chicago style deep dish pizza when you're there. I am sure they have an affiliated hospital with a psychiatric unit, so if you can't get admitted, get committed. You might not get a degree but you will get grippy socks. How difficult is it to be admitted as a student to Oxford?
