Questionable purchases at the grocery store in advance of a blizzard and a week of sub-zero temps coming up.

I find the instant potato looking stuff kind of questionable. Just get some real potato. Also where is the beer? Finally, what is this prepping for a blizard thing you're talking about. I always thought that was just an excuse for people up north not to work.

I found a leftover Hershey's kiss in my desk drawer. I was sooooo happy. Then as I unwrapped it over the garbage can, I dropped it. Don't think about whether I retrieved and ate it. I don't want you to think of me eating the kiss that had been in the trash. Trash kiss. Trashy, trashy, trash kiss.
Does your wife know you're getting trashy kisses?

Looks like I get to be involved in the nest hockey stadium project around here. By involved I mean put together a letter telling anyone who wants to buy the property what infrastructure will be required. So heavy work there. I guess the town next door couldn't get the zoning done, lots of drama. So now it's our turn. Lucky me, I don't handle zoning cases, but I don't think a lot of people will care anyway.

No, Snuggies are. That and this is also dandy bait:

Lots of drama.

I'm always around. So what are you planning to see in the big city? We can catch some lunch or whatever you want. My work schedule is usually pretty flexible. I'll send you my contact info.

Put some on a BLT an hour ago. Recommend!

Haven't tried pickled okra but I definitely would. I love pickled vegetables.

I really like putting pickled onions or pickled red cabbage or kimchee on grilled cheese sandwiches.

First, the instant mashed is a throwback to the early days when the wife and I were really poor. Somehow comforting a couple of times a year. Don't drink much these days but I got a couple of IPAs in case of emergency. As for the weather, I'll let you decide.

High of 33 with a little falling water: RED ALERT
High of -2 with wind chill: yellow caution, leisurely strolling weather

During the mid-70's, Ed Bruce, Willie Nelson, and Waylon Jennings were singing that Mothers shouldn't let there babies grow up to be cowboys. 20 years later, Paula Cole is asking "Where have all the Cowboys gone?" I think we know know the answer.
So easy to blame the moms. Why do the biggest mama's boys become the worst misogynists?

A long awaited snowstorm is poised to hit in about 90 minutes. Experiencing the calm before the literal storm here. We have a half day today, but even so, it's going to be a rough drive home at noon I'll wager.

We get that storm tomorrow
We're in the midst of it right now. I hope we are told to close early. We'll see.

About 4" overnight and another 4-6 inches today. At least the wind is holding down for now.

It would be nice if my interview still happens this afternoon. Yes, you heard it right. It's with a music education center/venue.

If not for my MUP program being available, I seriously contemplated a museum curation/management grad course track and career. My undergrad was History.

I love museums...even the ones that have stolen artifacts. ;)

The Museum of Science and Industry is my all time favorite museum

Rain now, becoming windy later, with gusts to near 70mph tonight. I hope my neighbor's pin oak (quercus palustris) plays nice tonight.

I wanted to be a Park Ranger, preferably at a civil war battlefield. Back then, those dudes barely made subsistence wages. Screw that!

I can honestly say that the lawn isn't greener on the other side. That is because I added tall fescue to my lawn over the past several years, so in the winter, I have a green lawn while my neighbor's Bermuda is a pale shade of brown.

It was a balmy 69 degrees yesterday. Right now it's 29 degrees and windy.

I prefer yesterday's weather.

My undergrad was geography and anthropology; I love the little museums at state parks. My wife just didn't want to live someplace like Tropic UT, so I went for the glories of city planning. ;)

It's snowing right now, but not particularly hard. I guess it's supposed to start in earnest around 2 this afternoon.

I too was a Geography major with a minor in Landscape Architecture.

History minor here! Was thinking about archeology but my school didn't have that specific of a program.

Still did a summer dig in partnership with another school, but am glad I kept it a minor.
