Family 👪 Post pics of your kids, yourself, and your pets - Part II

natski & cch- thanks, sometimes she acts a fool but I heard that's what toddlers are supposed to do so we're surviving. :-D

Budgie, hush! :p Only 16 more years until we have to think about college. Yikes. I need to go make a to-do list now.

From the looks of all the pup posts I should really try to take a picture of one of our dogs, it's not like we don't have enough of them to choose from.

We got family portraits done last night. Here is one of them:

Jeepers.... I think this is the first time I've shown my face on here.

Wow, J. is gorgeous! I think she gets that from her mom though, no photoshop needed!

Here's mine from over the weekend. We're attempting to do photos cards for Christmas but she won't give a real smile

Thanks! Oh my gosh, I don't know if you are making your own cards or not, but you could come up with some very clever sayings!! That picture is PERFECT! She is adorable!

Our practice run for the Picture People photoshoot. By which time they were all tired and crabby. But this one was rather cute, I thought.

My nephew, Owen. He'll by three in January.

Does Owen live near Chicago? If he does, you should be a cool uncle (or aunt or whatever you are:)) and take him to the Day Out with Thomas event they have every year at the Illinois Railway Museum in nearby Union, IL. We took our daughter there a couple of years ago, and it was a madhouse, of tiny Thomas fans running everywhere, in their Thomas shirts. But, it was cool. You get to ride on an actual lifesize Thomas!

No he lives near Buffalo where I'm from. I'm an uncle by the way.:-D

Downtown: dressing the boys like planners already? That's so sad....:-( ;)

Cute kids. :)

In total seriousness, how many 4 year olds do you know with municipal zoning maps on their walls? :-c

I totally didn't intend to indoctrinate them so early - but Jack saw it on my wall at work and asked for one for his room - he's a map fanatic. :D

and thank you for the compliment.

Is exporting planners a new Buffalo industry?

Apparently. I'm actually in planning school as a graduate student at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I'm under the effect that their are few jobs in planning in Buffalo and with the declining population its probably not the best place to start out a career. Besides I needed a change in scenery.

Playing music with the Men in Black

Next time I'll have them turn on the lights in the reception room.

We had some 40 players at TUBACHRISTMAS.

That's so adorable I could squeeze him! I got to color land use plans when I was younger.

Me and my precious baby :)
Sweet!

I have a stash of hot pink cable housing (bought 50 yds at a swap meet; can't imagine why the LBS didn't want to keep it on hand). Want some?

Also you need to trick out your brake hoods, bottle cage, and bottle. And you need a flamingo on there somewhere.

I think I'm good, but I am curious about the brake hoods :)......

Me, the GF and our dogs

This is one of the pictures we took as a potential Christmas card...on my desktop at work currently. The little dog is our 7 month old Shar Pei mix, Cowboy; the bigger one is Bentley, a 3 1/2 y.o. Pit Mix.

Okay. I am in. We finally got our camera yesterday and I am able to take some photos of our new addition.

Z and the Dogs. Kaia, is the chocolate lab (our old dog) and Kaslo (the yellow) is new.
Picture001.jpg

Here they are wondering what's for dinner (our dinner that is...)
Picture003.jpg

And finally, they are in the kitchen begging for me to toss them a bit of the delicious pork tenderloin I was cutting into...

Z - Didnt you adopt the chocolate as a puppy? Maybe not, I just thought you did and I see he is already getting grey around the mouth....
How is it with 2 labs? I have found 3 other chocolates that need home and one is a 16 month old female (Angus is 18 months) and I am thinking about getting her....but Angus himself is a handful, thinking maybe having a friend to play with the same size will help wear him out a bit...or it could just lead to double the clothes, shoes, etc being eaten!!!

No, we got the chocolate when she was 5-6 years old (they didn't know exactly as she was a stray). The vet now shes she is 9-10 years old. Kaslo was surrendered (who could they? I mean it) by her owners to the Humane Society. She is 6 years old for sure.

Two labs are good. they are very trainable and have had only one dog fight (that I had to break up) over the backyard tennis ball. They are getting along well, but like with any dog, training and attention is a must. We did notice that Kaia is more active during the day (now that I am home for lunch) with Kaslo around than she was alone. She also seems happier. But Kaia is very mildmannered (with enough Bloodhound in her to be lazy) and that has reflected on Kaslo making her a little less excitable. It helps that they are older.

If you have the time and the will, I say get another lab. I am getting used to having 2, but my wife has always wanted to and is very happy with the addition.

For those who may be wondering, Kaslo is named after the beautiful British Columbia town where my wife and I took our first vacation back when we were just dating. :)

Thanks, I think 2 are better than one as well. My only issue is that I have a daushaund as well. She is older and is really good, loves going to the creek and dog park with Angus and I, but doesn't like Angus. He is your typical lab puppy, BIG (80 pounds but tall, tall, tall) beautiful good boy, but requires a lot of attention and excersice (that he gets most of the time, but even one day of only backyard excersice and he is a terror). I adore him and is the best dog I have ever had but I think a friend his size and age would be good for him...why oh why do people get dogs and get rid of them?? I have found a pup, a 16 month female and one other chocolate lab for a adoption. I dont think people realize the commitment a dog is and dont do what is best. I for example KNOW I can deal with a little puppy as much as I want one, so I chose a 16 month old, best choice of my life, for sure!!!

Anyway, thanks, I am pretty sure we may have an addition before the weekend is over.....

Yeah...it's a Lab party.

zman and Jax - here is my lab Darcy. Her head gets heavy. :-D

Us at Monument Valley, Arizona/Utah about 10 days ago.

My kids make it look like it was 15 out. It was at least 20. :)

Boiker where you are moving to you can leave the jackets behind. Are you standing at POA on purpose?

POA?

What kind of scenic route are you taking? Doesn't that add a lot of miles to the U-Haul rate??

We haven't moved yet. We had scheduled an Arizona vacation months before I applied for the job out there. By a strange coincidence, I had my second interview for the position while we were on vacation and was offered the job before the vacation was over. We got to house hunt for a day of our vacation :)

Here's a picture of the little one and she's turning 5 Sunday.

It's been a while since I've posted in this thread.....
So here is the teenager with a girl her age in the same grade in Kirinda Village, Sri Lanka. The school was destroyed in the tsunami and rebuilt as a UNICEF project.
