Soooooooooooo.... my wife and I moved into our new house and from day one the cutest little stray dog kind of adopted us. However, his hair was very matted and he had living things nestled in
his hair, so, my wife dropped him off at the groomers this morning and told them to "clean him up".... :-| ....needless to say, I'm still not sure we got the same dog back. lol. oh well, we'll love him just the same and his hair will grow back I'm told. (I HOPE so!) I am less tha trilled that we now own a poodle. hahaha.

Isn't that so funny?!? Awww, he really is a sweet little guy.

Two of ZG's three cats.

Tigger and Shadow on the white freaking tile floor. :-{

cool cats! and what's wrong with cats on teh tile floor? Hair tumbleweeds?

hate to say it but looks like T and S need to go on Atkins... (ducks and runs)

SayTide, who knew a trixie was hiding under all that hair! Good luck with him, sounds like a keeper for sure!

Why there's never any room on the couch at our house:

Where's the tuna?

You can't tell from that picture, but she is about the same size as ZG's Tigger, I think.

What the dog did while we were away (no chewing involved - she just has a shoe fetish, I think ;-))

Tide, your new poodle-pooch is adorable!

Tide, that before-and-after of your pooch nearly made me spit out my tea I was in the midst of drinking. That is too funny. So, does he have a name?

Cute pics from everybody.

His name is Sammy, after Sam the builder who built our home and 'found' him for us. Everyone in the new neighborhood is jealous that we have him, but then again my wife and I were out at 10pm and 7 am trying to find him none of them were.

He's learning fast, the older dog we have, princess, is putting him in his place. I think he's started to realize he's not a paper trained dog anymore and he goes outside for that stuff.

Sammy is also getting fuzzier, we should never have to cut him that short ever again, but after he'd been living under the construction trailer for 3 weeks he was pretty nasty, we plan on growing his hair out in the future.

First thing I thought of when I saw the pic.

omg...that is the funniest thing I have seen/heard in a while. Very funny.... I don't think it is the same dog! Do you have a purse to put it in now??

Heavy metal Irish music

In another thread I mentioned my interest in band music. This is what I do for parades (and other events) in GR: haul out the sousaphone. (It's a York, made by the Grand Rapids Band Instrument Co sometime in the early 20th C.) For this parade I fell in with a Catholic HS band which featured a dearth of low brass...and they were playing "Rakes of Mallow," a piece I know backwards and upside-down.
Planning content: I like living close enough to DT to be able to walk there with a 30-lb horn on my shoulder (driving ain't my thing).
My buddy is another parade-a-holic who is a regular at the downtown peace marches. We met in the galaxy of Urban Planet.

It takes some people (notably the ones related to me) many decades to figure out how not to pose for a pic. Your 14yo genius has already figured it out!
Great shot.

My roomies

So how does a perfectly normal cat owner acquire three of them, and head down the path to Crazy Cat Lady?

Kitto was a kitten soliciting friends at the base of a hill at a bicycle tour in upstate New York. Her caregiver said, "take her home. She was dumped at my son's fishing hole last week, and we already have three cats." That was fifteen years ago. She's become a sleep-under-the-covers heat-seeking bony kitty.

Blanche was born in my father's garage five years ago. (He's a cat collector...long crazy story.) I'd been waiting for someone to come along to be a buddy for Kitto. Blanchie is a talker, and appointed herself to be my alarm clock.

This guy was a stray outside my last apartment move last year. He was extremely friendly, just wanted to a lap to sit on. I posted his availability on many message boards, but when it got cold I brought him in, fixed him up. (This pic does not clearly show his massive feet with the extra thumbs.)
thumbsie-3.jpg

Kitto's still adjusting to Thumbsie, and Blanche is his best play buddy. (Hint: get the dollar store fabric tunnel.)

RJ has posted a pic of my big boy Tigger but here is one that really reveals the extent of his over-eating:

Love all the new cat pics! Kitto looks like she's rolling in catnip... that crazed look and bizarre pose. :D

ZG, your Tigger picture should be entered in a Caption Contesttm. :)

Since cats appear to be in the spotlight, allow me to introduce Tazz and Domino.

Faithful readers should recall the story, a couple years ago, of the cat who disappeared in early February (northern Ohio winter temperatures very much a "happening") and was gone for a month or so. We found him hiding in the neighbor's garage, very skinny.

He is back to being a big cat, although it doesn't show a lot in this photo.

Domino appears to be part killer whale!

Kitto was my introduction to the tuxedo kitty. Found one (on the internet) for my newly-widowed father, and "Supercat" is his best buddy. Follows him around like a dog. The breed (flavor) seems to have a very gentle personality.

Here is my cat... well, actually it is my daughter dressed as a cat, for halloween. Since my husband is allergic to cats, no cat pets for us.

And here is my daughter a couple months ago, when she received our chihuahua, Tuco, for a birthday present from my parents.

Did they give her an espresso, too? Oh, wait, she wasn't unattended. (seen a sign saying that)

I picked up a Wonder Woman pet costume, but can't persuade anyone to wear it.

RJ and my cats are not overly fond of each other. The big boy we've posted pics of, Tigger, will amble into a room and sit down and look at me, look at RJ, and look back at me with the plaintive "Meow..." like he's choosing... So we sure were surprised when he plopped down on the couch next to RJ this afternoon. I was more surprised when I saw this:

Chet and M'skis: separated at birth

I'm on the left, camping at Saugatuck, MI last year. ...
Saw your pic and said to myself, "why is M'skis wearing Mardi Gras beads??"

Maybe it's just the beard and glasses, like an Elvis tribute artist's sideburns...

These are the daughters (14 on the left) (16 on the right) living at home
and my youngest brother at the Garth Brooks Concert.

Brother_and_both_girls.jpg

The 16 yr old has her "Save second base" tee shirt on. Have you heard about those?

I don't know who will be more mortified -- my SO or M'skl. Only time will tell, but I am guessing M'ski.

The two of us for my birthday some months ago. Still sorting over the most recent Disney trip pics for some good ones
