And now just a few more days to wait for the 2nd season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt! :D We actually started re-watching season 1 for the 4th time a couple nights ago.

Just started watching Season 2!

RT has me watching Last Man on Earth which is pretty entertaining.

Wife and I started watching The Detour...still trying to figure it out, but it's definitely funny (and not for kids).

just finished Dexter and it was awesome - I hope they do a reunion series when his kid grows up

Ugh I am still bitter about how things ended up for Deb (no spoilers here but I had to complain).|

Orphan Black is back for a new season and I did pony up for a season pass for the show on iTunes.

Woohoo!!

There are too many things to watch right now... getting caught up on Game of Thrones before this weekend (I'd paused to read the books but am now caught up on those). Also watching Daredevil, and want to watch the last two seasons of True Blood that I was bingeing on (but they aren't free on Amazon Prime like the first few seasons, so I've paused for now). I feel like there are too many good shows and not enough time. :p

I saw the first episode of the new season of Orphan Black-interesting.

I can't say I'm a huge anime fan, but I've been watching Black Butler hard core too. I'm almost through the first season.

This is one of the wife and I's favorite shows. I can't wait till the next season comes out in September.

Lou Diamond Phillips does a darn good representation of the Rez speech pattern. He is part Native American but is mostly Filipino. I am looking forward to the next time I run into Native Americans to see if they use contractions. Lou Diamond Phillips, as Henry, does not. Which I find interesting because I too tend to not use contractions in speech or writing. With the exception of y'all.

I saw the last episode the other day. :-c I have to wait until September to find out what happened in the last cliffhanger? Bummer.

Binge watching "Lost Girl" now.

I read an article about the show once that indicated that Lou Diamond Phillips took great efforts to make the part an accurate depiction of Henry Standing Bear. I believe the lack of use of contractions is part of that. I would imagine that the native language for the local Indians was Cheyenne and maybe it's still practiced upon the tribe. In my experience non-native english speakers are more formal with the langage. Where as native english speakers use contractions, which are sloppy hacks within the english language.

LDP is an enormously underrated actor. He really gets into the character in all his movies, even the stupid ones like Route 666. He's one of my favorite actors. I put him right up there with Bruce Campbell. They both embrace that they are basically B movie stars, but they give it all they have each and every time no matter how ridiculous the movie is.

Started season 2 of House of Cards the other night. WOW.

Wow, Longmire is an awesome show! I heard the guy who plays Walt Longmire is actually Australian 8-! .....G'day, mate! Crikey, let's blow the froth off a few sheilas and throw some shrimp on the barbie.

Admittedly, I've had little personal exposure to Native Americans but find the no contraction thing....curious.

Wife and I just finished Making A Murderer. Geez. Really makes one lose a lot of faith in the criminal justice system. Talk about all-around bias, ineptitude, and corruption at every level.

on PBS.com or any of the PBS apps on the streaming box things has many of the back eppisodes of This Old House. I like to binge watch them... for a 2nd, 3rd, and sometimes 4th time. :D

I makes you wonder though. My dad says that it is causing a bit of a civil war between people who think he is innocent and people who think he is guilty.

Ended up being stymied on Whitechapel - Amazon pulled it down off Prime availability with one episode in Series 3 left and all of Series 4. I guess I'll get back to it some day.

Finished up 3 and 4 of Whitechapel...I can see why there hasn't been a 5. I'll be poking around on Prime tonight for what's next...

I'm slowly working through Sliders, Portlandia, and How I Met Your Mother. Just depends on the amount of TV time and my mood.

Peaky Blinders Season 3 is up now - I won't see anyone for a few days.:-$

Wife and I are towards the end of Season 2, so will be on to Season 3 in a few days...

We are concurrently watching the Netflix show "Love". Starts out a little bit slow but gets better as it goes on. I'm definitely liking it now. Love the spunk of the main character chick (Mickey) and her quirky Australian roommate.

Working on Hinterland now and then Bloodline Season 2 is up, woo hoo!

I'm obsessed with Bloodline.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Do yourself a favor, get a Hulu subscription and watch "The Path". It's uncomfortable, it's not easy to watch, and it is no fun at all....but the acting is outstanding, and it feels very, very, very real, and I think everyone should watch it.

I hate wasting time watching tv but the wife got me to watch Wayward Pines. Hooked.

There could be binge movie watching this fall by kids all over the place. Netflix will have Disney Movies! (LINK)

Personally, since they bought the rights to Lucas Films, this also means the original Star Wars movies will be on there too.

So far, Better Call Saul has impressed me more than any other series I've seen in quite a while.

Ditto on The Path, that was a good one.

Can't wait for Twin Peaks to come back!8-!

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Way better than I expected it to be.

I also just finished watching "Secrets of the Castle", a 2014 BBC documentary type show on the Guedelon Castle. It was pretty good, but you can only stream it from YouTube.

Over the past week, I watched a couple of episodes of the West Wing and a couple of episodes of Newsroom. The influence of Aaron Sorkin in the character interaction style and extensive monologues are very evident. In many ways, President Bartlet and Will McAvoy are very similar.

What are your thoughts? Which one is better?

I've only watched a few episodes of both and from what I saw preferred Newsroom but I've come to the conclusion that I just don't really like Aaron Sorkin's stuff all that much.

It is sort of funny though that I'll be watching a random show or movie and see some supporting actor that looks vaguely familiar so I look them up on IMDB and it seems to inevitably turn out that I saw them on The West Wing.

I liked Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, it's not something I would have watched if I didn't read about it here. My current binge is Cheers, well I am not as much watching it as I am using it for background noise. I appreciate the wisdom of Norm. As a side note, I caught my 10 year old daughter sing the Cheers theme song the other day. It was cute.

I wish I could find Night Court or Taxi streaming somewhere.

Hah...I have Night Court available by over-the-air reception every night at 8p on my Laff network affiliate.

I get it for free. :D

That's good to know. Unfortunately, I can't consistently get that channel with my current antenna setup but know that I could watch night court may justify a roof or attic mounted antenna.

Same here. We were watching it sort of concurrently with Peaky Blinders for a while and let's just say it was quite a contrast with that show. We just finished Peaky Blinders Season 3 and that just show got better and better. Looking forward to Season 4. Right now we are taking a break from binging any show. Not quite sure what the next one will be at this point.

Yeah...you need a good antenna. We have a big roof mounted one and have it wired to the three TVs in the house.

$500 well spent.

We started watching the first season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend on NetFlix this past weekend. We are four or five episodes in and it's pretty funny and different.

The Fall is awesome!

I just started Limitless last night and I like it - my eldest daughter's college friend is a production assistant so she got me watching it -

I just started watching "The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret" on Netflix last night. So far, pretty dang funny! David Cross is awesome so I figured the show would be pretty good.

Watched two great British shows: The Bletchley Circle - a group of women who were code breakers during the war solve crimes together using their special skillz after the war. (if you liked Foyle's War you'd like this show)
Land Girls - period drama follows the lives of people working on a farm in the Land Army during the war.

Two different shows both set around/connected with the war? One gets the impression WW2 is a bigger deal for Brits than Americans. As well it should.

Seasons 1 and 2 were great. 3 really REALLY sucks, so I stopped watching after the 1st episode of Season 3.

Started watching Stranger Things and finished the entire 8 episode season in two days. It's AMAZING. Watch this show as soon as you can. Very 80's horroresque vibe.

I've now moved on to Pokemon :D. Good to relive those childhood memories. The show actually holds up quite well and I'm enjoying it.

just finished The Returned - they better do a season 2 as the ending of season 1 was sucky - but it was a riveting show

starting marcella now

afraid of stranger things because it's a little boy that gets abducted, right, that freaks me out as a mom - I have to carefully choose shows with kids in them

loved the betchly circle!

Just watched Stranger Things. Not bad. Some creepiness, a little government conspiracy, and a monster. What more do you need?

Well yeah, but without giving the story away, he's not exactly abducted by a person so much as a...thing.

Very "late to the party"...but my wife and I started watching Game of Thrones a couple weeks ago...as of last night we are 3 episodes into Season 4...

You HAVE to watch Stranger Things if you lived through the 80's. I was 12 (like the kids in the show) at exactly the time they are depicting and holy crap they could be me and my nerdy friends. The kid abducted will NOT freak you out. It would be a crime to skip this little series.

That's my plug. :)
