Daily things 5️⃣ Five Things Tuesday

1. Son forget the grill for deer camp
2. Drove up last night to drop off
3. 64 degrees at 8500 feet at 6PM
4. Some orange showing on a few trees
5. Love fall in the mountains

  • This is the slowest time of the federal fiscal year at my job.
  • My youngest continues to fight against doing homework although she did it today without being asked.
  • I’m ready for fall. It’s been a hot, humid, and wet summer.
  • Time seems to pass by so quickly these days.
  • Headed to Boston for a 3 day work retreat. First time they’ve ever tried this.

1 - lovely weather to talk a walk around the square after lunch
2 - cooking dinner tonight, but I need to decide what to cook
3 - I was cut off in traffic twice morning on the way into the office - grrr
4 - my Clemson fan friend doesn't want to talk football right now
5 - evaluations are done

1) Just finished a call that was all about killing a project.

2) I'm behind on some stuff at home. Need a day (or two) off to get things done!

3) Brain is tired. It's like drinking from the fire hose right now.

4) I think I should have had a second cup of coffee this morning.

5) I'm ready for a nap.

1. Bike ride tonight.
2. I'm counting proposed inlets on a plan, and I like it.
3. I'd better charge my bike light.
4. I've been feeling left out of some things lately, even though I choose to stay away.
5. I'm feeling restless these days. I'm trying to plan a road trip.

1) Presentation for the kick off of our Comp Plan to the Planning Board went very well last night. They seemed to really understand the power that they hold towards shaping the City and the next iteration of growth. Now let's see if they can navigate the politics of it all.
2) I have been fatigued lately. Not sure if I have been fighting something or it is burn-out.
3) My youngest has his birthday early next month. He is reaching an age where we got his brothers their first cell phones and is already asking for accessories and cases. Not sure I like the idea of it.
4) The other day a coworker told me that I am relentless to get the best possible deal for the Town, regardless who it is we are negotiating with. This was just after a meeting with our DOT who didn't want to admit that we have the growth that we have.
5) Our middle son who is on the autism spectrum started middle school a few weeks ago. A ton of firsts including riding a bus to and from school with other kids, dealing with a locker, switching classes for each subject, and all sorts of things. Just got off the phone with his case worker and he is doing phenominal and is operating completely independent from her assistance, is actively participating in class, and has caught on super quickly with navigating the school and the bus situations. This is the same kid that had a melt down last year because he heard the song "We don't talk about Bruno" on the school PA system before school and shut down because his caseworker was out sick one day and attempted to leave the school to come home.

1 - one of the candidates for council came in and asked if he could put up an election sign on stop sign poles - I'm surprised he asked
2 - I'm the only one in the office today, its overcast and drizzling outside
3 - had dinner with 2 other couples last night - good food but terrible service - we were there for 2.5 hours but had a great time catching up
4 - Comp Plan adoption next week & there has been very little comment about it
5 - good friend of ours bought a 12' skeleton on clearance after Halloween last year at Home Depot - they put it up yesterday & the eyes light up too

Bike ride this evening. We're trying to fit in as many rides as we can before the time change and cold weather.

Cold and rainy weather will probably cause me to cancel a big bike ride on Saturday.

Sometimes I want to just go with autocorrect because some suggestions make me giggle.

One of my sons can be really jerky, but sometimes his kind heart shows through.

Working at home for the past two weeks has been a challenge. I'd rather watch the construction work at the fire hall.

1 - never owned a minivan
2 - low is projected to be in the 40s this weekend...small fall
3 - please don't ask me who to vote for (can't wait for silly season to be over)
4 - contractors supposed to done with renovations of our building this Friday, but it ain't going to happen

2) Hubby not in a good mood - both his fantasy teams aren't doing well.

3) I purged some kitchen cookware I haven't used in 4+ years. I donate it so someone may find it useful.

4) It's still in the 90s here. But a cold front is coming! With rain!

5) I'm ready for my new windows to arrive. I hope it's soon!

  5. im planning a convening at the end of the month and yalllllllllll ALL.THE.DETAILS. and I am not a detail oriented person
  6. PS a last minute bonus...my favorite thing is when you talk to coworkers about upcoming deadlines for MONTHS and then when you finally are near the deadline they try to give you grief that 2 weeks is not enough time

Lime washed the floors of my house over the weekend - then scooted the washing machine across the floor and scraped lines in it...

Cold front on the way!

Assignment: rewrite proposed ordinance to 1/3 the pages.

Daughter found out that wildlife guides are just cooler comic books.

Staff report edits...
