Daily things 5️⃣ Five Things Tuesday

1. Some of the bush beans sprouted yesterday
2. Some of the spinach has already bolted
3. I've been watering the gardens every day for the past couple weeks. I think we may officially be in drought conditions now
4. I had an entire frozen Jacks pizza for lunch. It's sitting in my stomach like lead at the moment
5. There's no way I'm going to get my time sheet AND all my correspondence done by 5 if I keep posting here

1) Ordered some repair parts for my gas grill. It was 4 years old and gets used a lot, but the box is still good.
2) Making salmon for dinner tonight.
3) At a cabana style seafood restaurant on the Carolina coast this weekend wearing a hat that had the UP map logo on it. Someone asked me if I was really a Yooper or just visited there.
4) I have been watching my diet and had been full-in Keto for over a month, then took the weekend off, blood glucose was not awesome this morning. My total carbs for the day will be 23 grams...
5) This will be a busy summer/fall for me. I leaned that I was accepted for a leadership program at UNC and I will be taking the pre-test class at University of Miami then sitting for my CNU-A.

1 - Rain all week. No grilling.
2 - At a wedding reception last weekend there was some necktie swapping going on. Nobody noticed except one's sister.
3 - College World Series has been good. Gators almost gave it away Sunday & Wake nearly blew it on Monday.
4 - My FIL is slowing down dramatically. We had to really coax him to go outside Sunday.
5 - The last 2 weeks have been busy, this week should be able to catch back up.

1. Getting a little hinky with City Council. Executive Session today at 5 will hopefully clarify what's going on.
2. Was in Tennessee over the long weekend. Friday was out on the river and got to watch a bobcat for about 5 minutes. That was awesome.
3. Saw Joan Jett open and then Bryan Adams Saturday in Nashville. I almost forgot what a rocker Bryan is.
4. Everywhere I go. Kids wanna rock!!!
5. I must be getting soft in my old age. I find I'm scoring RFQs much higher than I used to.

1) MD Planner is reading my notes. We are suggesting they go into closed session before our 5:00 PM meeting for the Attorney to tell them that they can't do what they are asking to do.
2) 1/2 an egg and 1/4 cup of cheese in a mini waffle maker is a damn good keto snack.
3) We have a particular pizza restaurant who is going on 90 minutes arguing with our staff about a new location they want to build, bit not meet our design regs.
4) The weather person has been talking for several days on how today was going to be a long soaking rain all day, which is very needed. It hasn't done much of anything beyond occasional sprinkles.
5) Why do people pay hundreds, sometimes more, of dollars to a super busy amusement park, stand in line for over an hour to ride on a 6 minute ride. I don't get it, hence, no mouse in my kids future.

1. fairly quiet around here since the manager & attorney are off this week
2. debating about camping this weekend with rain in the forecast each night (plus a couple other small factors)
3. had a meeting with a developer about a project that's been on, then off, then on, then off & now back on again & then he asked how quickly we can get this to council
4. lunch was not all that satisfying -maister's last 2 offerings should have been it
5. meeting tonight shouldn't be long, but ... youneverknow

1) Back from vacation and don't want to be . . .

2) Short week next week. Makes up for the busy week this week.

3) I want a nap.

4) Damn it's hot! I know it's :tx: and we're always hot this time of year, but after a week in the north, this heat seems brutal.

5) I'm ready to call it a day.

1. I have to earn more vacation time; I'm in the red. That means that I'm working Monday.
2. It took a whole week to feel like I was back from vacation.
3. I went to a bigfoot festival over the weekend. It was pleasantly civilized.
4. My cupboards are bare.
5. I went from not having enough work to having a little too much work.

3 I tried to find a cabin in a state park. No vacancy.
4. I found a Middle Eastern restaurant in Breezewood. Imagine that.
5. It's going to be a hot few days put here.

When you're driving at night and you get to Breezewood it always felt like all of a sudden you've turned onto the Vegas Strip there are so many lights and signs!
I doubt I'll witness that at 10 hour days in 90⁰ heat. I've seen pictures of the light haze after dark. It's cool because Breezewood is in the middle of nowhere.

1. It really bugs me to see job ads without at least a salary range.

  3. Raves about the bulk deals they get from Costco.
  4. Praises the fast shipping they get from Amazon.
  5. Emphasizes the points they earn with each purchase from using their Chase credit card.

This seems off to me.

Is it cognitive dissonance in my Planner's Brain? Is it the irritation of the virtue signaling I sense? Or is it someone just talking about the good life they have and just want to share their life experiences with me? Or is this what it means to be an American in the early part of the 21st Century?

1. the theme seems to be running - 'I called you this morning & haven't heard from you yet'

3) Monday Night Football return = some alone time for me.

4) Have an off-site meeting today. Whee.

5) My weekend is looking full. I might not get a nap both days!

1. My peaceful neighborhood was so noisy this morning - a fireman using the squad pickup truck as a toy, a daycare parent left their vehicle and radio on which I heard in my back room, and an idling delivery truck.
2. I'll be speaking with the daycare director today. No child should be closed in a vehicle with that noise. I'll use the term "mandated reporter" so they know I understand their legal requirement of receiving complaints.
3. I hope rain holds off for my bike ride this evening.
4 The local diner is serving one of my favorite items for lunch.
5. I'm having a hard time concentrating today.
