Daily things 5️⃣ Five Things Tuesday

1. Torn between leftover chili or frozen pizza for lunch
2. Wife is ill today and Junior is faking illness today
3. I can't pry myself away from the news about Ukraine. I lay awake at night thinking about how they might respond.
4. I am going to RJ this afternoon, I think
5. I'm down to 100% cheap beer at home. All the good stuff is gone
 
1) Slow day = want a nap.

2) Call from vet - dog has a mast cell tumor. Now we get to worry about surgery & recovery.

3) Mom started another chemo based on her test results. She's on 2 now, and looks like it'll be for the rest of her life.

4) Leftovers for lunch tasted fine but now I've got heartburn.

5) I'm off on Friday!! No plans except to take the dog for walks.
 
1. Been rather busy today
2. PITA engineer threaten to sue us & got attorney involved, we've cut off communication with engineer & only our attorney will talk to their attorney
3. PITA engineer is upset we won't schedule public hearing because plans do not meet fire code
4. PITA engineer claims building/fire council will vote next Tuesday to approve & codify change & that we should go ahead & approve it since that (supposedly) going to happen
5. If I get pulled over for speeding that's what I'll tell the cop - the speed limit is going to change next week, so I'm just gonna go ahead and speed now - valid argument right!?!?!?!?! No.
 
1. Booked our tickets to Spain.
2. I gambled on ticket prices and lost.
3. Have vacationa for next year planned but not for this summer.
4. I once ate an entire can of honey roasted peanuts and got a wicked tummy ache.
5. I once had a shot of tequila and got a wicked tummy ache. It has nothing to do with the 10 prior shots.

2. Still haven't heard back from the eye doctor. Am expecting a call probably today.
3. Ukraine military is punching way above their weight. I hope they can move to the strategic offensive within the next week.

1. Tonight's Council meeting just went from an estimated time of 2+ hours to an estimated time of 45 minutes with the deletion of a single item (& it wasn't one of mine)
2. Budget entry process should not need 14 pages of instructions & yet for ours does
3. Dog sat my brother's 2yo high energy dog over the weekend while he went out of town - they got along but our 12yo dog didn't like the extra activity
4. 25 years ago this week, Mr.s P & I started dating
5. March Madness play-in games start tonight!
 
1. Headed to Key West Thursday. TONS to do before that. Ugh.
2. I don't think I've had to review a sign permit in years. And I'm eternally grateful for that!
3. Just not interested in March Madness this year.
4. Don't you love when elected officials want a code enforcement crackdown and then get annoyed when they get calls about being "harassed" by the City?
5. Really getting hard to fill positions. Pretty well paid positions too.
 
1. It is raining sand thanks to the Sahara.

3. Hubby is scheduled to come home of Saturday after 2 weeks away.
4. Being a single parent is hard!
5. Dog is going to vacation with us in May. Gulp.

I seem to have eaten/ been exposed to something I'm allergic to.
I don't think I've eaten anything new...
It's been a while since I've needed to take allergy meds.
It's going to be a long day.
 
1. Picked up the dog from the vet yesterday & brought him home. He did not want to go outside. He just wanted to nap.
2. We'll be getting the bad weather tomorrow, so I need to mow this evening.
3. Submitting an advertisement to the newspaper for a federal project & requested confirmation of receipt. Never heard from them so I ended up walking over to make sure.
4. I forgot to put something in the budget request for next year. Remembered yesterday and had to submit an amendment to Finance. I'm sure I'll hear about that.
5. Enjoying the upsets in March Madness this year so far.

2. After much inner debate, I think I'm gonna pass on going to APA in San Diego
3. It has been confirmed, Mrs. P is not a navigator on trips
4. The PITA engineer we've been dealing with contradicted himself a couple times in a meeting yesterday (which our attorney, staff & I enjoyed)
5. Who wants mexican for lunch?
 
1) Moved an event from tomorrow to a month from now. Good. We were not all on the same page.

2) Have several meetings this afternoon.

3) Company coming for a visit this weekend - need to start cleaning/straightening the house!

4) What's the best way to tell your spouse he snores? :sleep:

5) I'm not ready for the rest of this week, but I have the rest of today to get there.
 
1) It has been a hell of a couple weeks.
2) I am going to unplug and go to the beach for a long weekend soon.
3) In full-on training mode. Event #1 80 Days, event #2 in 192 days, event #3 in 199 days. (Yes a week after #2) These are all subject to Doctor's clearance in 51 days. But time in the gym, on the bike, or running the roads helps to clear the mind and set focus for the day.
4) Rooms-to-go sucks.
5) @dandy_warhol, I am sorry to hear that you and Itty Bitty have COVID. That is no fun.
 
I washed our cars Sunday and within an hour Mrs. P's car had bird poop on it - reminded me of a Far Side cartoon
I was disappointed in the Grammys that there was no SLAP
We have a Councilman that likes to pick up the illegal roadside 'litter on a stick' signs & I thank him every time he brings us a batch (this morning there were 15)
Both the Kansas & Carolina coaches succeeded Roy Williams
The end result wasn't what I wanted, but overall that was a good basketball game
 
1. A week later...how are dandy and itty bitty doing?

3. if you use ghee you can reproduce movie theater popcorn
4. I recently discovered that salt and pepper are a great popcorn seasoning
5. My beer intake has diminished considerably the past six months
 
1. Have you ever gone out to dinner with your family and then sat two tables over from someone that constantly is a PITA in work related issues? That was Sunday dinner
2. Mrs. P's work right now is extremely overbearing & we are very busy here too
3. I grilled hot dogs for dinner last night
4. The Girl is coming home for Easter break
5. Tonight is our MiLB team's home opener (haven't missed one since the team arrived in the 90s).
 
1. Im doing allot better in the one course I am taking this semester than expected
2. Just finished off a big report for work, working late tonight (but on schoolwork)
3. Taxes will finally be squared away now that I have two competent CPAs on my side.
4. NYC Subway shooting this morning has me reeling and somewhat nervous to take the train into class tomorrow.
5. I need to stop snacking so much and change my diet, my birthday is this week and perhaps better health should be my present to myself.
 
1. I can't stand it when you try to leave a restaurant (for example) & there's people are waiting for a table, just standing blocking the door. MOVE!
2. Had a dad, uncle and daughter call about rezoning the same parcel, getting the same answer, arguing the same points, ignoring all advice and picking up an application all within 30 minutes of each other.
3. A councilman said to me yesterday that he might not make the Council meeting tonight because he think he's going to feel sick & will have to go recover at the beach.
4. Mrs. P got a compliment from her corporate boss yesterday. Evidently a manager resigned due to her enforcing some rules. Corporate had been wanting him gone for a while but didn't want to fire him.
5. Eggs, bacon & hashbrowns for lunch:up:
 
1. Pretty much cool temps and gray skies this week locally
2. I like lists. I like both reading them and making them
3. I very seldom just sit and listen to music these days. In fact, it's been years.
4. Mixed success on the seedlings started indoors: 80% of the tomatoes germinated, but only a third of the peppers so far
5. The price of bacon has pretty much tripled from three years ago.

1) Rain yesterday morning and cooler temps today.

2) Planted some seeds (flowers) and a couple of new plants before the rains came in. Hopefully I'll have a lot of color in my backyard soon!

3) Slept well last night after 2 nights of crappy sleep.

4) Full day today. I hope to have time to eat lunch.

5) Mavs won last night! Hubby in a good mood!

1) The storm is not brining as much rain as I hoped it would.
2) The PW director is holding a grudge because we are going to contract out his reviews
3) Tacos for dinner tonight make me happy
4) I am so ready for allergy season to be over with
5) The new FEMA maps and state's recommended language is the subject of the moment.
 
1. Stumbling around Prime for something to watch & found Kentucky Fried Movie. Still have same feelings about it after I saw it the first time,
2. Spoke to mom last night. It was her first day without someone there since she got home from surgery/rehab. She doing good.
3. Grilled chicken legs last night were pretty darn good.
4. These next couple weeks just got busier somehow, even with new bossman starting & budget going on.
5. The Girl's first year at university is complete!
 
1) Dog is doing well 5 days post-surgery!

2) The rest of this week is very busy. I will be in the office or off-site all day for 3 days. Looks like I'll be lucky to get lunch 2 of those days.

3) Hubby's office is renovating and expanding.

4) Celebrating Moms Day on Saturday. Just 'cause.

5) Watching The Batman with Hubby. We're about 2/3 of the way through.
 
1. Boss bought Chipolte food for us today, happy Taco Tuesday!
2. Raining.
3. Attended a regional transportation meeting this morning and caught up with an acquaintance.
4. Unhappy, but no one's fault.
5. Wish there was more coffee.

2. When/if we return to the US it will have to be to a blue state.

1) Two night meetings in two days. So much fun.
2) I did not sleep well last night.
3) A coworker pointed out that I drink a lot of water. He said it noting that I was in a meeting and I was the only one not drinking a soda or coffee.
4) My dog is a really good dog.
5) Over the course of the past 4 months, my entire Michigan team for Tough Mudder has dropped out. I am going to see about transferring to something in 2023 because I don't want to drive 12 hours to run alone.
 
1. Verbally assaulted by PITA citizen accuse me of not following law
2. I did not do what I was accused of doing
3. I do not enforce those regulations
4. People above me are laughing at the people accusing me because it is really petty
5. Researched law & law does not say what they thought it said (they were wrong)

1) At the office today. So's more than 1/2 the department.

2) Still not feeling 100%. Crappy weekend sleep, overall bleh feeling - took yesterday afternoon off.

3) Need to fight the blahs.

4) Dog still has her stitches. Trying to schedule with the vet but am on hold.

5) Family stresses are getting to me. I want to run away but don't know where to go.
 
1) Not in a good place today in my head. No specific reason that I can pin point. It started in the middle of the night when I woke up with crazy bad anxiety and laid there awake for 2 hours until I fell back asleep. Weird thing is there is no reason for any anxiety.
2) The sun is out and there are no clouds in the sky. It is also in the mid 80's.
3) I cleaned my desk off last week. It needed it.
4) Since my wife turned in her letter of resignation, two more nurses have also done the same. There is now only one nurse that was there at the start of the year and they have more than 50% of the positions will soon be vacant.
5) My former insurance company sent me a denial letter. I bought something on my health savings account from FSAstore.com and they are now saying that it was not an eligible expense.
 
1. Good weekend with baseball watching (live), soccer watching (tv), golf playing & friends pool party.
2. A friend of ours daughter turned 21 this past week.
3. Mom is still being stubborn, but that's not a surprise right now.
4. It's gonna be a HOT week.
5. YES this is Tuesday, not Monday.
 
1. I thought the cooler weather was supposed to start today but it's supposed to get in the mid 90's this afternoon!
2. I didn't water my zucchini this morning because I wasn't expecting mid 90s heat today
3. Shoot, my waistband is getting tight again. I was doing so well for a while
4. I haven't listened to the album Dark Side of the Moon for several years.
5. This extreme heat is causing my spinach to bolt prematurely :(
 
1. Perfect beach day yesterday. Not too crowded either.
2. The 19 year old next door is having raging parties just about every night. The parents have checked out and are working elsewhere.
3. The benefit is bonding with many neighbors who are sick of this crap.
4. Huge retailer is 95% certain about coming to my city. We all had to sign NDAs but the funny thing is low-level employees at other locations are telling everyone they're coming here. Worse kept secret ever.
5. Worries about the economy and inflation don't seem to be impacting tourism and travel here. Places are booming.
 
1. I'm cranky.
2. I'm tired.
3. I took a long bike ride in heat and humidity yesterday.
4. I'm taking a shorter bike ride in heat and humidity today.
5. I'm a glutton for punishment.
