Daily things 5️⃣ Five Things Tuesday

1) Moving went well this weekend, finally staying at the house overnight and working on the great unpackening.
2) My partner is out of town all week for business, followed by a trip. Just the cats and I for several days.
3) Manager is out again today.
4) Parking in the street has left what I am guessing is some sort of sticky mosquito control spray all over my car. That or it's the strangest uniform tree sap/dusting I've ever seen. A car wash is in order.
5) Another trip to the home improvement warehouse after work.

4. The Girl dropped a class because the professor came in total disarray, couldn't work technology, dropped a stack of papers & said there would be pop quizzes throughout the semester. She said she couldn't shake that image and picked up another class.
I had a prof walk in to a sociology class the first day and announce "I can see all your auras ... ". I didn't stick around for the rest of it and immediately went to the Registrar to drop it. The Registrar lady said "You are like the eleventyhundredth person to drop his class in the first day since I've been here."

I dropped one class in grad school before the quarter started - I'd taken whatever 501 the previous quarter, and signed up for whatever 502. The professor for both actually called me to let me know that 502 was going to be basically the same as 501, and that I shouldn't waste my time.

Um, yeah - how many other folks do you need to call about this...?

1. Got stopped in downtown this morning by a former councilman asking about a project. He's one of the good ones. Afterwards he said "Don't you loved being harassed by old councilmen?" I replied "Just like every other citizen." We both laughed.
2. I get to design our new offices we plan on moving into next year.
3. Saw the owner of one of our local car repair shops riding a bike towards his business this morning - next time I see him I'm going to ask if his car broke down.
4. Mom is cleaning out her clothes and says she's finding some relics.
5. Not doing anything for this holiday weekend, but will be the following weekend.

1) Headed to the dentist this afternoon.

2) Cleaning house so my Hubby's perfectionist cousin won't have too much to say when she drops by later this week.

3) Still dealing with the last fight of the allergy issue from the last two weeks.

4) Is it nap time yet?

5) I'm looking forward to the long weekend!

1. Therapy tonight.
2. Running 5 miles afterward.
3. Tacos for dinner when I get home.
4. Maybe I need to make some coffee!
5. Mobbing the Roadblock tomorrow to help businesses that are affected with a big road reconstruction project.

1. I rented a cabin for the long weekend. I don’t get phone service up there. I'll be by myself resting and recharging.

2. I'm going back to the same cabin the following weekend with a too-big group of friends.

3. I can always tell when my kids are up to no good. Not that they're bad people, but sometimes make bad decisions.

4. Its a gloomy, rainy day here.

5. I'm trying so hard to squeeze in summer fun that I've worn myself out.

1. The calendar says Tuesday, but it seriously seems like a Monday
2. Applicant withdrew rezoning from agenda (not the application, just tonight's meeting). We posted it on city's facebook page around noon to inform public. I've received 5 calls now about why & if the city is trying to pull a fast one.
3. I'll have to buy a new car battery this week, I've noticed mine is struggling to start the car. It's 6 years old so not too bad I reckon.
4. I cooked a one skillet Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs recipe I found & it turned out to be good. It did however require 3 more bowls/plates to get dirty, which wasn't the point of a ONE skillet recipe.
5. RFP released for our comp plan today - I'll have something (else) to do for the next year or so, but excited.

1) Did not sleep well last night - really dragging today.

2) Can't find my notes from a conversation with someone that used to work here.

3) I need those notes!

4) Need to get my nails done.

5) Seriously - how do you lose notes?

1) had to get up quite early to do a blood draw at 6 am
2) I woke up at 4, though
3) I suffer from what is called 'terminal insomnia' - where you wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep
4) tomorrow I plan to can tomatoes and make sauerkraut
5) Yeah, Imma take the day off

1. Killed 2 projects on my desk this morning. Those that you have to concentrate on, which blows up if the phone rings or someone comes in to talk
2. This week's temps are great - low 60s to low 80s
3. My CM & I had a debate on whether another city was north or south of ours - I won & pulled out an old school state highway map to prove it
4. Had to replace the battery in my car this weekend - damn - batteries have got expensive
5.

5.
My last two I've gone with Interstate at Costco at $80 each.

1) Last night I was at my wits-end during a meeting. My sleep quality and duration was low, and my wife commented this morning that she hasn't seen me this angry about work in a really long time. Had a good conversation with the CM this afternoon, and I feel better now, but still angry.
2) It is roasting in my office. Earlier this year, we had to buy new box fans because the old ones did not have a 3-prong plug and OSHA got upset.
3) Why do some consumables like honey and salt have expiration dates?
4) I need to mow my lawn tonight. I might also spray for weeds too.
5) I have been pondering the possibility of taking up meditation. However I want to think about it more before I decide.

3. Took my three kids
4. Genre brings out interesting people

2) I've had MRIs, and those aren't fun but I least I know what to expect.

3) Mom's about to start Chemo #3. First one worked but caused serious side effects (quality of life sucked), second didn't work but the side effects weren't as bad.

4) Nice weather here. Actually cool in the mornings for the dog walk.

5) Part of me wants to get drunk, but a larger, more rational part of me says no, you won't like the consequences.

1) My 11:00 meeting with a developer was cancelled - thank goodness. Their proposed product is shitte.
2) I got an earful from the lady at the classified desk from our local fish wrapper - she doesn't like what's going on in town & wants it to remain a "sleepy little place that outside people don't need to know about"
3) I can't wait for the midterms to be over
4) Went to a Humane Society fundraiser last Sunday & got to hold puppies

1. Christmas lights are fun to see, but I drove past a row of houses that had colorful, elaborate Halloween lights. Those are fun to see.

Noticed last night that one of my neighbors has a gigantic spider on their roof for Halloween (it's at least six feet long from the tip of the front legs to the end of the back legs). I'm hoping they bring it back out for Christmas with a Santa hat and some lights.

The could go a little darker and have the spider pull Krampus in a sleigh or just put Santa's hat in the middle of its spider web. Make all the kiddies happy.

1. F@ck me.
2. Blergh.
3. Fratzin.
4. Snarl.
5. We are planning on attending at least 8 Christmas markets this year. Yay! Can't wait. Though there is talk that some of the Christmas light displays will be smaller due to energy costs.

1) Saw a semitruck from my hometown today. For many that is not a big deal, but my home town is 1100 miles from here.
2) My to-do list is long enough, but there will be some process changes coming down the road that will add to it.
3) I am going to take the dog for a walk after dinner tonight.

1. Battle of the Badges is tonight; Police v. Fire
2. I am playing for the PD since they don't have enough to field a team

2) We are Halloween hermits - stay inside, no lights in the front half of the house, and no interaction with the hordes.

3) Still not sleeping through the night. Don't know if it's my CSF leak, anxiety, general insomnia, or what. Heck, could be a combo of them all!

4) I don't think Hubby realizes how much help I'm going to need after surgery. I might just stay at my aunt's place until the weekend.

5) Thanksgiving may be affected - don't know how I'll be feeling then.

2) The weather is perfect outside today. It was too hot the past couple of days.
3) At a local restaurant the other day that was only accepting cash. Following lunch they hand me a hand written receipt for $15.00 for a $9.49 burrito. Knowing this was not correct, I asked about it and was informed that they "estimated the tax". I looked it up and found that our tax rate and showed the manager how to calculate tax. I was so disappointed in the lack of life skills.
