1. It's been a nice warm day here after the rain, rain, rain.
2. Council tonight will have 3 presentations besides normal stuff - each presentation should last an hour
3. Dinner tonight will consist of a granola bar (see above)
4. NYC, here I come.
5. The Girl scored her first goal today in her middle school soccer game. She plays defensive midfielder so those chances are somewhat limited.



I hope this is acceptable in the eyes of all.
 
1. I walk from the parking lot to the office with a nice lady. She talks on her phone using speaker, and I'm getting to know her friend and current happenings in their neighborhood. Pretty soon I expect to be greeting the woman on the phone.
2. My trip to Louisville this weekend is getting taken over by invitations to my cousins' houses and to dinners, and I'm feeling overwhelmed.
3. I'm afraid that travelling with my 83-year-old mother is going to be like travelling with a child.
4. I had a trailer hitch installed on my car and bought a platform bike carrier. I'm not used to spending money on myself, but this was a good purchase.
5. Things are rather cold here for May.

1) Wish my planner worked full time right off the bat, but she negotiated a part-time starting period.
2) We are understaffed and unfocused. It's contagious!
3) The last new house in my neighborhood sold!
4) I'm trying to figure out how to stay focused while being pulled in several directions at once. It's not time management - it's crisis control.
5) I'm ready for some door closed, no phone, no email, no questions time to do some research.

1) Slept like a log last night, and am still dragging this morning.
2) Have to schedule training for my new Planner and a refresher for some others in the office, on some tweaks I made to our permit software.
3) Found out someone at my old office tripped in the office and banged her head when she fell. Went to the doctor just in case - ouch! 8-!
4) Still trying to figure out what to do for Memorial Day - stay in town taking care of dog while Hubby works, or head up to friends/family in the metroplex?
5) Got my new business cards today!

1) Downloaded several new songs to my phone. Most of them are classical and bluegrass.
2) Last Friday there was an eerie coincidence that I am having a difficult time forgetting.
3) Today is splurge day for lunch. I am going to eat mexican. I just realize that you don't see that many mexican buffets around...
4) My morning routine did not go as intended this morning. I slept in until 4:45!
5) I think that I may mow the lawn tonight. Shame there is no tornados forecasted for today.
 
1. Going to be on the local Phoenix NPR affiliate later this morning talking about entry-level/affordable housing
2. Had lunch with a former co-worker from my Economic Devt life yesterday. Cool to catch up.
3. New job sometimes feels like it's non-stop all the time, but I'm loving it.
4. Daughter turning 3 in less than 2 months. Already thinking abut her party.
5. My fave Mexican place just opened a location about a mile from my office! :D

2) Didn't have the best night's sleep, so I'm dragging. I had caffeine with lunch, but still . . .

The Girl received a "re-education" about the importance of sunscreen. Her shoulders are nice & sunburned.
I mowed 2/3 of our lawn before it started rainy on Sunday. I didn't get to finish it yet.

CM called and wanted a timeline for a project. I forwarded the same one I sent to him a few months back.

1. Just realized that I graduated from high school 29 years ago today. Wow.
2. Between working and actually buying tickets and attending concerts this year I'm going to see some awesome acts.
3. Very excited to see Roger Waters in August. Supposed to be bigger than The Wall.
4. I got into Pickleball a few months ago. It's great fun and good exercise.

I once snapped an admin who was complaining instead of answering the phone (so I had to do it, then jump up and go to her desk to look at the park calendar). She said "I'm tired of being fat" and my response "well whose fault is that?!". It felt good but I later apologized.

I like that your budget has priorities. I tend to keep to my budget... except for all the things that fall into the "unexpected" category.

I need to download a playlist for the truck. It will be a total mish-mash of all the good truck appropriate songs -- like Roger Miller's 'King of the Road', Trace Adkins' 'Her Favorite Color is Chrome', Don McLean's 'American Pie', and "Somethin' 'Bout a Truck" by Kipp Moore. Other suggestions welcome!

My sister bought me a wine subscription for the big birthday last week. The first box has arrived today. Can't wait!!!
 
A. All the school buses have returned to the maintenance yard. These things have returned to the nest for the summer and have been crammed in very tight.
B. I have no need for a Mr. Coffee, Kuering, Nespresso or similar machine.
C. The Girl & I were in Zaxby's yesterday and she asked for Arby sauce. The guy at the counter said "BarBQue?" She said no Arby sauce and then realized what she had done. She was Very Embarrassed!
D. I asked for my car to be detailed for Fathers Day. Preferably by a professional and not by Mrs. P and/or The Girl.
E. I think the summer weather is here - Hot, chance of rain.
 
1) Neighborhood meeting tonight. It will be a long one.
2) How many different examples of a landscape buffer is too many?
3) We had a new pet person today - and she did fine. Dog barked at her, but was fine after being petted and let out.
4) What's the chance of me getting a decent dinner tonight???
5) Phones were down earlier today. Yeah!

2. It's hard to take seriously an adult who is wearing aviator frames made of glow necklaces.

1) Took a portion of our code revisions to one Commission last night. A couple of questions, two suggestions for language clarification, and a strong recommendation for approval. Two hour meeting (included 3 other items with no controversy).

2) Take more Code revisions to another Commission tonight. Expecting push back, conflicting advice/suggestions/comments, and might not get a recommendation. This same Commission tabled it after 2 hours with no recommendation at their last meeting, and we haven't changed anything. It goes to Council later this month, and if they don't give a recommendation tonight, then it goes without their comments.

3) Have company coming over this weekend - time to clean the house!

4) Played two rounds of Can This Marriage Be Saved: Picture Hanging Edition this past weekend. Still haven't put up the majority of pictures.

5) New :w:dog:w: working out nicely. I'm so glad she chose us.

1. Just followed a white truck back to work from lunch for about 3 miles. He was doing 25 in a 35 & 45 mph zone and didn't give a flip. It looked like parade behind me with the cars that he stacked up.

4. I got to play real estate agent & show some city surplus land this morning.
5. I'm afraid of tonight's council meeting. The agenda is very short, which usually means long in time.

1) No meeting tonight, but Hubby's coming home late. Can't win.

2) Had a great time with company over the weekend. Tried a new restaurant and my tastebuds are still happy.

3) Work just keeps throwing up surprises.

4) Long City Council meeting tomorrow. I'll be very tired on Friday.

5) Parentals coming this weekend. I need to arrange entertainment.
 
1. My coworker makes goose jerky. It's pretty good.
2. I'm in a slump these days, as far as work is concerned.
3. My friend is planning her dying husband's funeral and trying to make his final days count. I shouldn't be complaining about anything.
4. I'm giving a children's presentation at a library this morning.
5. I'm working from my back porch this morning. My view is of treetops and finches.
 
1. Yesterday - went home, changed clothes, walked dog, rain, rain, rain. Mowing the grass is currently in a weather delay.
2. Going to see Rogers Waters in concert tonight.
3. The Girl needs a new computer for high school, starting to look at student deals now.
4. The weekend was spent cleaning/organizing/rearranging the garage. I can't find a damn thing.
5. CM is out today. Should be quiet upstairs.

2. On Season 7 of the Office now. Binge-ing the whole series.
3. Replaced both hot water heater and garbage disposal in the past week. That was a nice $1,000 there.
4. On the plus side, finished my 2Q17 Executive Summary for work yesterday. One big thing out of the way.
5. Booked flights for trip to Boise and Northern Idaho/Montana for around Labor Day weekend. :h:
 
1. In the process of painting The Girl's bedroom. Mrs. P is not thrilled with the color choice.
2. This morning was wasted on a dept. head mandatory webinar.
3. This afternoon is a dept. head meeting.
4. This evening is a planning board meeting that has a potential 'pita' item.
5. Normally I take my dog for a walk right after I come home from work. Lately I've waited for it to cool down for a hour or two, which has confused him.
 
1. Got to insert a catheter in a mannequin.
2. Want to move to a new school district before Itty Bitty enters kindergarten next fall.
3. There are no houses in our price range with the amenities and architectural style we want.
4. Stressing about how to compromise.
5. I like our current house, just wish it was bigger, on a bigger lot, and in a different school district.

We finished painting Itty Bitty's room a few days ago. It took way longer than it should have but the color is nice.
 
1. Grilled corn-on-the-cob last night. It came from my MIL's garden & was delicious.
2. Mrs. P asked how long it would take to grill the corn. I answered about one beer long.
3. The Girl is in HS band camp this week. She's glad to see some of her friends again.
4. Someone's delay in approving to order materials has now caused the project to be delayed. That someone is not me but I'm dealing with the delay.
5. One of the 2 people in Finance that actually are helpful is leaving. Crap!
 
Things I noted whilst taking my noontime walk:

1. I hate that I sweat profusely
2. I am glad I did not wear full on makeup today as it would have sweated off all over me
3. I keep saying to myself - enjoy this heat as soon you will be really cold again
4. Being a little heavy set, in a ship figurehead kind of way I would like to think, I sweat in way too many unmentionable places
5. Today's earworm-while-I-keep-my-pace was "Thunder Island"
 
1. We're at the beach for a week
2. It's nice to go back to the hometown
3. The access road in is an obstacle course - big public works project
4. I saw 2 dolphins swimming in the gulf this morning
5. The humidity is oppressive in the afternoon & evening

1) Week One of the boss being out.

2) Have two night meetings this week. Beats the weeks with 4.

3) Had to have my car towed Friday after work. Hit something that punctured my tire and my hybrid doesn't have a spare.

4) Trying to keep my caffeine intake below obscene levels. Water just doesn't have the same kick.

5) I'm hoping you all are enjoying the last couple/few weeks of summer. I'm ready for Fall temps!

1) Hit new PR in my incline dumbbell press, squat, standing dumbbell military press, and deadlift this morning. I anticipate I will be immobile tomorrow and Thursday.
2) I have a great idea for a local planning meme, but I have zero photoshop skills.
3) I am in search of a new computer system for my house. Wife does not like the mac anymore. She wants a touch screen laptop. I don't see a reason for the touch screen.
4) It is cool and rainy today. It makes me want to work in the garden... or at least start a garden to work in.
5) For some reason my watch is not working.

1. I participated in our Health Screening Fair this morning and received results in fewer than five minutes.
2. Body Mass Index = 23.7. Ideal range.
3. Blood sugar, 82. Optimal category.
4. Total cholesterol = 212.
5. HDL (good) cholesterol = greater than 100 (it couldn't read a number higher than 100). Ideal category. Total/HDL ratio estimated at less than 2.1 = Good category.
 
1. School starts for The Girl on Monday - AND its high school - orientation is this evening
2. The county keeps trying to give us a problem in their jurisdiction
3. I think I might have finally convinced the city manager on something after a year of discussion

2. A few of the contractors I meet at work are old Italian immigrants who came here, worked hard and created long-lived successful businesses. I really like those guys.
3. I tried to stop at the back door of the pretzel shop this morning to buy a pretzel hot from the oven, but a delivery truck blocked the alley.
4. It's kind of sad to watch my young, idealistic coworkers become jaded.
