My oldest received his class ring last week. It is nice, but he has no intention to wear it. But then again, my wife and I don’t wear ours either.

However, a broker that I know always wears his college class ring because he graduated from an ivy league school and wants people to recognize it.

What are your thoughts? Are class rings still relevant today or have they ever been relevant?

Never been relevant. I believed it was an unnecessary accessory when I was 18 and still believe the same today.

Both my high school & college rings are in the bedside table drawer.

The Girl did not want to purchase either high school or college ring.

I guess I could purchase a high school, college, and Navy ring, but why bother. The only thing I wear sometimes is my masonic ring.

I have them from HS and college. Have never worn them but my mom offered to buy me both and it's kind of a nice souvenir to have.

I never bothered getting mine, in either high school or college.

I wore my high school ring for a while. It was a typical class ring.

My.college ring was a pretty little gold ring with an s-curve across the top of my finger and a few tiny diamonds. I loved it. It was too tight for a while. When I thought i could wear it again, it, and a small diamond ring my dad gave me were gone. I have a feeling one of my son's friends stole it. I'm still very sad about it.

My daughter has a class ring but im not sure she worr it. My sons didn't get rings.

I wore mine for a year in high school and about two years in college. I've tried it on once to see if it still fits. I do have my grandfather's ring he got for graduating in 1934. I don't know if they were all similar or just a gift. The only ring I wear regularly is a wedding band and I don't wear it much in the summer because my fingers swell at times.

One of my friends was smart and asked her mother for the money she would spend on a class ring to buy a very nice traditional ring. She's the only one I graduated with that still wears hers.

I have a couple of friends who graduated from Air Force, Naval, or West Point Academies that wear their college rings.

This. No point and nobody cares, especially a high school class ring. Might as well keep wearing your letterman's jacket if you have a high school class ring.

I have the letter with all the pins on it (It's easy to be a 4-year 3-sport varsity athlete when you go to a small school and do XC, alpine skiing, and track). Even in 1995 the jackets looked silly and the only person I knew of who had one was a giant dork.
