Bumping, because I live/work in WNY as of this week. Love being here.
Wondering if this might be a distant relative of mine. My mother's father's name was Cutter, and he had siblings and cousins scattered around upstate NY and lower Ontario.

You think there will be a repeat of a few years ago where the primary winner ended up losing? I assume there was a Republican primary too, though I don't recall hearing anything about it, not that they stand a chance.Sean Ryan won the Bflo Mayoral primary. I am pretty content with the result. Sean has allot of the progressive policies that India Walton championed in 2021, but has more institutional gravitas, name recognition and governing experience than India ever did. I'm kind of optimistic about Buffalo City Hall for the first time in.......ever. Not getting my hopes too high though.

Technically my extended family on my father's side (one of my great aunts married into a Buffalo family) and my wife's family (the majority of whom still live in Buffalo and its burbs).Who let you in here?

No thankfully! Chris Scanlon announced he will not be contesting the mayors race ("Scans" is acting mayor and Conservative Dem faction favorite with significant Republican buy-in). A coworker of mine that I quite like, just accepted a position with a Buffalo city office, so I am hoping the Ryan transition will be smooth for him.You think there will be a repeat of a few years ago where the primary winner ended up losing? I wrote a report on this for my Transit Planning class in Grad School in early 2024 (I just finished MUP in January, felt good at my advanced 30+ age to make some zoomer friends) and at that time the DEIS had yet to be finalized so I am really glad to see something moving forward on Metro. That's not to say that we still dont have a big battle ahead. I drive down Niagara Falls Blvd in Amherst frequently on my way to a particular music venue in North Buffalo. I see the "No to Metro" signs and want to to create "Yes to Metro!" signs to distribute.NFTA has been busy cooking away on transit expansion plans:
I'm hopeful -- it seems like a fairly thoughtful extension from the gander I took at the draft EIS, even if it is largely an at-grade setup. I would like to hear thoughts from folks who live up there, though?
