Music 🎵 Bass guitar players? Songs with recognizable bass.

He's not really a mainstream guy, but the best I've ever seen is Victor Wooten with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones.

I like listening to music, but have no talent. I've never heard someone make a bass guitar like it, especially when it he goes up to the higher notes.

Here he is as a solo act back in the day.

Up on Cripple Creek, the Band

The Less I Know the Better, Tame Impala

Found a Job, Talking Heads

You don't have a well-rounded education on genius bass playing until you've experienced "Big Noise From Wannetka" from the late 1930's.
The drummer isn't too shabby, either.;)

Happy Transformer Day. 50 years ago on November 8, 1972, Lou Reed's Transformer album was released. I'll be honest, I'm not familiar with most of the songs on the album. Some are good, some not so much, but Reed's most famous song, "Walk on the Wild Side" is on this album. If you're not familiar with that song, here it is.

Here's a link to the Rolling Stone review of the album: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-album-reviews/transformer-89126/ (Transformer)

'Treat Her Like a Lady' by the Cornelius Brothers and Sister Rose has a highly recognizable bass line

Money -- Pink Floyd
I've been thinking a lot about this one lately. Yeah, great bass intro, but later in the song, listen to the bass through the sax and guitar solos, especially the guitar solo. The bass line picks up considerable urgency. Great stuff.

'Seven Nation Army' by the White Stripes; although it's not played on a bass guitar, it is a pedal effect on a Jack White's guitar. Still cool, still very distinguishable.

I recently listened to a reaction video for this song, and I've taken to listening to reaction videos with headphones. Maybe it's the pedal effect, but that bass line has a lot going on; the sound of it is kind of trippy when you listen with headphones. The reactor even commented on that.

I also learned that the title "Seven Nations Army" actually comes from Jack White mishearing "Salvation Army" incorrectly when he was a little kid.

Jack White is a living musical legend.

The entire The White Stripes oeuvre is stellar...beginning to end.

The constant in this song is the steady bass riff. The melody and vocals alternately jive with and disagree with, and ignore it.

A contribution directly from my phone (back in September...a bit of the bassline by Alejandra of The Warning, Hell You Call a Dream)
