What's your go-to order at breakfast restaurants?

Are there certain things you tend to order for breakfast more than others? If you're out of town and dining at a restaurant you've never been to (and we're not talking Denny's, but rather, some non-chain place) what do you tend to order?
 
At Ihop I usually like either the country fried steak and eggs or chicken & waffles. Most places I'll just go with an omelette.
 
My go-to order at new restaurants is typically a western omelette
 
Depending on the menu...but always with corned beef hash. Typically either a corned beef hash & cheese omelette or scrambled eggs with a side of corned beef hash.

Always milk to drink. :)
 
Two eggs, over hard; sausage; hash browns; and whatever non-white bread they have for toast. Orange juice to drink.
 
Denver omelette with hashbrowns. If they have some sort of spicy omelette I will often get that. I am not a pancake or waffle fan.
 
What, no one said grits? Omelette with cheese ham and hash browns. If at [STRIKEOUT]Crapper [/STRIKEOUT]Cracker Barrel, oatmeal with toast. Anything else there breakfast wise, simply sucks.

You didn't say grits. ;) I'll have grits for any meal, if they are cooked in milk. Those cooked in water have little flavor.
 
Ham & cheese omelette with hash browns and wheat toast (with strawberry or grape jelly)

OR

Scrambled eggs with ham or bacon and hash browns and wheat toast (with strawberry or grape jelly)

I will gladly substitute the toast for an English muffin or biscuit if it's available.

I will sometimes get biscuits and gravy instead of toast as well.

And as much orange juice as possible. The fresher and pulpier, the better.
 
I'm not a big breakfast food fan, at least not in the morning. I actually like bacon and eggs for dinner better than breakfast. That's why I love the Waffle House; I can get an awesome patty melt on Texas toast at 8 in the morning and not even feel bad about it. Hash browns are good any time of the day!
 
2 eggs over easy with whatever homemade bread they have going for toast, hash browns and either sausage or ham - black coffee and keep it comin' sweethaaaaart...
 
Usually go with waffles and a side of hash browns. Its hard since going vegetarian. Eggs and meat now repulse me.
 
related funny story - years ago I worked for this nameless firm where one of the principals of the firm was really uptight and overly proper (he's loosened up over time but at the time, wow) - so here we are, in a diner in Batesville Arkansas and here I am with my co worker, all of 25 years old he and I were at the time, with our boss, who is in a 3 piece suit and a bow tie, and he orders the following:

I will have my eggs braised please

there's a pause, then she peers over to him and says

I am praying at the moment for me to not break out laughing and that I could be whisked from the room in a tornado

it was awesome - had to be there possibly...

that was a crazy project - master plan for Arkansas College - people thought we were from outer space and at times rightfully so - many stories from that trip

I don't really have a go-to for new (on the road or in the field) breakfast joints, but I can guarantee that 99% of the time my order will involve eggs and pork. :D

My go-to at Waffle House: bacon, egg, and cheese on texas toast, hash-browns scattered, covered, and peppered. Regret usually sets in about two hours later...

You bring up a relevant point - what toast to order? I figure because I'm at a restaurant one should order something they don't usually get at home, so I gravitate towards out of the ordinary things like raisin bread or rye at breakfast restaurants.

I order wheat toast (which is really good with peanut butter and bacon), English muffin or a biscuit.
