Daily things 5️⃣ Three Things Thursday

Do you have pictures of said kitties?

1) Quiet here today. I'm playing Spotify.

2) Ready for a nap.

3) I'm thinking burgers and beer for dinner.

1) Onion seeds germinated after only a week. The pepper seeds started yesterday
2) Going through the motions
3) Got a new planner in the office. She seems nice.

1. Another oddly warm sunny winter day.
2. Disruptive week with a contractor in doing some plaster work on the main floor and basement.
3. There is a cat playing with a paper bag behind me.

1) Slept crappy last night and have to present for a client at a P&Z that's an hour's drive from here.

2) Going through the motions on a lot of things right now.

3) Broke a fingernail way low over the weekend, so I chopped all of them short.

1. Going through the motions
2. Can I request more cat pictures in the thread?
3. I think I saw a secret ventriloquist today at the office.

1. missed out on being 1 of 10 volunteers in a joint FEMA/USGS project.
2. new USGS National Map Corp editing coming soon.
3. My Step Uncle passed away.

1. Went out for a walk on this oddly warm February day. Decided to mix up my lunchtime route; funny how you notice different things when you are coming down the block from the opposite direction.

2. Our home landline number is gone as of now, having been disconnected earlier today. This marks the first time I've lived in a house without a landline since I was born. And I've had six landline numbers over that time . . . the most recent being (775) 342-6073. Knock yourself out and try to call it now. :)

3. My wife decided on her own to get rid of three bags of clothes she will never wear again. We can actually walk into our walk-in closet now!

Bonus: 4. JNA: Sorry for your loss. May his memory be a blessing.

1. Ditched our landline a few years ago. Was only $15 a month but hardly was used.
2. First landline phone number was 612-473-7035 (1971-1981)
3. I don't miss the landline.

Hey, I'll be in the 612 in a few weeks!! I've never been there unless you count the airport. And airports don't usually count.

AT&T was wanting $60+ for something we didn't use, so it was time for it to go.

Enjoy. I'll be there in April for the national conference and will stay a few extra days to visit the old neighborhoods.

I'd love to stay an extra day or two, but I'm flying home at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. My original plan--before Wifey overrode it--was to stay two extra nights on my own and poke around a bit. (Though it's great after 30 years she still likes me to be home and misses me when I have to travel.)

Jim

1. I've always thought for Leap Day, they should extend a fun summer month, like July or August, and not a blah month like February.

2. I hurt my back cleaning out our storage unit the other day. Still a bit sore but it could have been a lot worse. I'm getting too old for this.

3. I am not a fan of the word "sharrow." Just sounds snooty. But there really isn't another portmanteau that would work.

Jim

1. Our "green" non-stick pan is now sticky. :(
2. Hubby is about to make cookie cake.
3. I have no willpower around Hubby and sweets. :cookiemonster:

1. Yesterday: 15c (60F) and a thunderstorm.
2. Today: -9c (16F), windy and sunny.
3. Lousy almost Smarch weather.

1. Is it yoyo or whiplash weather ?
2. read the book Leave No Trace by A.J. Landue in 1 day
3. Anybody travelling for the eclipse ?

1) Yes, it's Thursday and I'm ready for the weekend.

2) Back to back meetings today. How am I supposed to get any work done??

3) I want to win a large slot jackpot someday soon.

1. I'd like to skip forward to the weekend
2. Ronnie Milsap is blind
3. China is facing serious economic, demographic, and political problems in the not very distant future

I never knew Ronnie Milsap was blind. (And I also haven't thought about him since sometime in the 90's.) There's no getting over him though!

I guess I could try inviting myself to my brothers house in Fort Wayne, that's almost in the optimal zone. Or even go to Buffalo.

1. RJing a few hours early this afternoon
2. I'm getting Trump news fatigue
3. I hate living out the last several months of a phone contract with a dying battery. Damn thing is next to useless, since its charge capacity is so limited.

1. Drove a buddy to the airport at 4 am and sat in the office parking lot for the sunrise
2. Circumstances on a handed-down case dictated I make completing the application a condition of approval :(
3. Out around noon tomorrow!

1) Not feeling so great today.

2) At work for some mandatory stuff, but would rather be at home.

3) Raining!

1. Our Planning Commission meeting tonight is cancelled because one of the agenda items said "Not for action," when it was for action. Oops. Just as well, since the Canucks play the Golden Knights tonight and it's too hard to run a meeting when I am watching the game on my phone. (I neither admit nor deny doing that in the past.)

2. Our storage unit is all cleaned out and vacant, and we are officially moved out of it, so our garage is full of crap. Well, not all crap, some of it is precious family heirlooms, photos, etc. from both sides, which we will keep, but I wouldn't mind if some burglar came and took 90% of what was in our garage.

3. I hate dirty dishes in the sink overnight, unless they are soaking, like last night's meatloaf pan was today.

Jim

1. Ugh. Kids can be a challenge. 😬🤬😤🫨😵‍💫
2. Is it too soon to go on another vacation?
3. A solo vacation?

1. Is that why I never married & had kids ?
2. YOU - that is RJ thinking
ME - That is why I retired to be on vacation.
3. YOU - come to the Midwest for the Eclipse.
ME -That is all I do.

1. That moment when you forget it's Three Things Thursday until it's almost quitting time.

2. I am still getting used to going to work in the dark again, but that should only last a couple more weeks.

3. Weeds have begun their appearance for the year, so someone should go out to the yard with the weed killer this weekend.

Jim

  1. The Sabres are only three points out of a playoff spot.

:D

1. I ordered French Onion soup for lunch. It has so much wine in it that the broth is red.

2. I opened a book and found a dollar bill I used as a bookmark.

3. I hope my afternoon passes faster than my morning.

1) Leftover pizza for lunch while listening to a presentation for AICP credits.

2) Got my vacation time approved for my summer trip.

3) I'm thinking about chicken and pasta for dinner.

1. I need a pedicure.
2. Just found out my supervisor is leaving for a 12 day vacation tomorrow. I guess meeting scheduled for Monday is cancelled.
4. Living here is like a completely different world sometimes. School spring break is next week and people I know are going to Portugal, Morocco, Tenerife, Copenhagen, Edinburgh, Algeria.

1. We have a short getaway planned to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks.

2. While there, we will go inside the Sphere, which will be the shortest time between adding something to my bucket list and crossing it off said list. (Also seeing the AGT show and the Canucks vs Golden Knights while there)

3. Getting my annual fake development story ready, to push out on April 1. Every year, people believe me despite obvious hints sprinkled throughout.

Jim

1. Getting pumped to be back in my home state (MN) for the NPC.
2. Spring is in the air - temp and the smell.
3. Parents will be visiting next week.
