Daily things 5️⃣ Three Things Thursday

1) Our oldest has been difficult the past few days. Wife has the day off and he is grounded. She is going to make sure he completes his very long list of chores.
2) I went to the gym a little later than normal this morning and was blown away by the number of people out walking in the neighborhood. It was awesome to see.
3) Yesterday I replaced the lights over the mirror in the master bathroom. The plate to attach them to the can was a horrible design and resulted in me having to disconnect the cans from their brackets, rotating them 45 degrees, and re-securing them. The lights are up, working, and look great. Although the glass is clear this time, so we need better looking bulbs.

1. Today is a work at home day. I took a short walk and went into a new coffee shop, where I found retired friend working behind the counter. This is one of the reasons I like living in my small town.

2. I'm going to the beach for a few days.

3. I'm feeling disillusioned by something and it's affecting my moods.

1) Woke up with a borderline migraine. Had to take the morning to battle it down to bearable.

2) My direct boss is pregnant. Fall this year is going to be interesting!

3) We are still short staffed.

1. Sweet potatoes are yummy.
2. There doesn't need to be a graduation ceremony at the end of every grade level.
3. According to Itty Bitty, everything is boring forever.

1. I won't be in the office tomorrow so I'll do today's list instead of tomorrow
2. Flying down to Fla to pick up mom & coming back Sunday
3. I was on one of the panels for interviews for the new finance director - one candidate was nothing I'd ever seen. Good stories though.

1. Funny how some things that give you great pleasure when you're young are less appealing as you age
2. All brick and mortar stores in the country will be gone by January and replaced by e-commerce
3. 2002 was an okay year as I recall

1) Wife took my truck today. Youngest gets carsick riding any distance in her car and they need to go 35 miles to the dentist (that will be changing). I hope to get it back by lunch. She drives a 2019 Accord Sport... and compared to my Supercrew F150 it is like driving a gocart.
2) If I had the money, I would find a custom streetrod builder to build a fiberglass body 59 Chevy Apache Truck but on a modified frame of a 2022 F150 Lightning. It would be so cool to have an old school truck. The Ford Eluminator is cool, but 1979 Ford isn't as cool as 1959 Chevy.
3) A headhunter called me yesterday and the opportunity was extremely tempting... but it would have required full relocation and I want to stay put. We have really great trajectory here.

My brother had a 59 Chevy Apache (non-electric of course). The previous owner had hotrodded it up with a rear lift and mufflers that set off alarms. It was a fun truck to ride in, but either due to his poor driving or the heavy front end/elevated rear we wound up in the ditch a lot. It looked about like this, but not near as good shape.

That is a great looking truck. I am not sure why, but I have always been drawn to the regular box instead of the step side. I would love for it to be something like this, but in a dark blue:

1. Don't tell me you're coming to meet with me at 11 and still not be here at 11:49.
2. I swear some days it's like I'm playing Dr. Phil here. Oh the unnecessary drama . . .
3. The Georgia Port has about 40 ships just hanging out in the ocean waiting for dock space. So if you're waiting for something I might know where it is.

3. We've had a pretty good harvest season this summer. Fall is looking okay as well.

1. Chilly but humid here.
2. I need a fall scarf.
3. Today I decided to get serious about improving my eating habits. And then proceeded to eat a chicken cheesesteak and fries. Bah.

1. The internet was down until 1:30pm today. Glad I sat through a 90 minute commute to be unproductive half the day.
2. 3 weeks and 1 day left in my current gig.
3. My lunch was good.

1) I am going a lot of planning work in my back yard landscape. Also took some additional cuttings and will try to propagate them this fall. This weekend I am going to finalize the new bed shapes, scalp the grass again, and then spray it with grass killer. In a couple weeks I will put news paper down and mulch on top. That way this winter I can plant and the grass won't come back up next spring.
2) My oldest is really enjoying going to the teen group at our new church. Last night was only week 3 and he wanted me to come into the building so he could show me around and meet the leaders.
3) I am exhausted. My fitness tracker (Whoop Strap) also tracks my sleep recovery, and I have been in the 40% range all week. Oh, and I have a night meeting tonight too. So the quest is to find out how to get quality knowing that I won't be able to get quantity.

3) It is warm-ish and humid outside... which results in everyone using space heaters because the boiler kicks on the AC in the building.

It's been raining and thunder storming here since late morning.

Thunder snow would be cooler than thunder rain, but it's about 50⁰ here.

I'm looking at some drawings for a bridge that are dated 1928. Cool.

1. Scored tickets for the Eagles for March in Jacksonville for my birthday. Those boys still sound great so I'm going to enjoy them one more time.
2. I really don't understand why people just be grownups and talk through their issues here. I spend a lot of time being Dr. Phil.
3. Trust me, you really don't want ME to have to act like Dr. Phil.

1. I've got over 30 onion sprouts going. Very excited
2. Taking next Monday off
3. I predict Junior's 18th birthday present to himself will be moving out

1) Still going through the motions at work. Getting things done but no sense of accomplishment nor excitement.

2) FIL birthday this week, so we're taking him to brunch this weekend.

3) Foggy drive in today, might leave early to beat the rain.

1. I have a terrible toothache and still no idea when my dentist can even see me. I don't know what's wrong but it freaking hurts!
2. Taking a lot of ibuprofen so I don't flip out on people.
3. Early budget projections still looking very healthy. So I've got that going for me.

1) Middle son turned 11 today. He is super excited about his birthday. I have already decided that we are going out some place for dinner because he wants boneless wings.

2) I may have a job offer for a place that looks like it might have some serious potential, but it would require relocation. Wife does not want to leave her job and it is way to far to commute, even if we moved halfway. So it looks like it is a no-go.

3) I took a nap at lunch. It was short, but it feels like it made a difference.

1) Can I just say how much I hate writing employee reviews by committee?

2) The person who created a template left, and when I import info into the template, it's all wonky. So I've spent an afternoon reformatting every application within the template. The template was supposed to keep us from having to spend this much time on it!

3) After a day like today, I wish I could pick and choose my job duties.

1. Not enough hours in the day.
2. Not enough energy to be productive with the hours I do have.

1. If all goes according to plan, this is our last day without a kitchen sink.
2. I'm considering lowering all the new upper cabinets 5" or so. They're fine for me but a bit tall for my wife.
3. Yeah, pretty much my whole life is the kitchen remodel right now.

1. Got the results of my MRI. Only a partial tear of my biceps tendon so just a brace for a couple weeks and then no real lifting or other movements for a while after that.
2. Huge relief. I completely tore the other one 13 years ago and the surgery and recovery were awful. I lost a whole summer.
3. Heading to the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town tomorrow and Saturday. The purse is bigger than what it was for the Masters!

1. I've been doing the cobra yoga pose every two hours at the insistence of my physical therapist. It's been moderately successful at temporarily reducing back pain.
2. My physical therapist also thinks I'd further reduce my back pain if I dropped the 35-40 extra pounds I'm carrying around
3. I wish

1. My ear was throbbing this morning. As I sat contemplating the bad health things that were happening to me, I realized that the throbbing was in perfect time to a bird chirping, and it stopped when the bird stopped.
2. Yes, I said throbbing. Twice. Take your juvenile comments to the men's only thread.

3 - I have to spend $3000 on office furniture or supplies before mid-May for our new office.

1) Coffee. Coffee! COFFEE!

2) Packing up mom's things for auction. Some of this stuff might be worth something to someone else, but to me, it's just clutter.

1. Had a difficult discussion with Mrs. Maister last night about her aging parents increasingly poor health

2. I saw Oppenheimer last night and I generally liked it. It was nice to go to a movie theater which I do about once a year.
3. I'm trying to finish a couple of houses projects by the weekend because we will be picking our kid up from camp and don't want their usual mess to meld with mine.
