NEVERENDING ♾️ The NEVERENDING What's For Lunch Thread

At home today. Had lunch at 10am.

Asian Chicken Dumplings with Soyaki sauce. (trying not to eat the whole box).

I just had more than a measured single portion of Teddy's peanut butter using a couple of Cortland apples as a necessary, albeit healthy, method of transmission for lunch

A PBJ, pile of potato chip crumbs, and a can of Vernors ginger ale

I had steak for dinner last night and used some of the leftovers to make a steak and cheese omelet. There were a few spots of cheese that had mold on them so I threw them out. Based on the taste of the omelet though the mold was more widespread than I realized.

You know you can just cut a quarter inch off the block and no more mold. The cool thing about cheese is mold forms on the surface and doesn't penetrate far into the cheese.

Ok people, I need some help. I forgot that tomorrow we're having a Hispanic food potluck for lunch. I of course had forgotten until now. I need some unique ideas because all the standards are spoken for. Any help appreciated.

Cuban pork sliders.

Black bean thoup.

Arepas!

I would suggest a margarita machine, but you might get in trouble for that . . .

How about churros or tres leches for dessert?

These are all fine but I need your recipes folks! C'mon make it easy for me please!

^^^Is that hot dogs on the pizza?

I had country style steak, mashed potatoes with gravy & green beans at the meat & 2 veggies a few blocks from city hall. With a drink & tax it came to $9.32

I've been doing this:

Fried tofu (firm tofu pan-fried with garlic, salt and pepper until it's all brown and chewy) with quick pickled veggies (shredded carrots, sliced radishes, onion, grated fresh ginger, cilantro, boil a quart of 50/50 water and vinegar with a tablespoon of salt and 1/3 C sugar, dump all over and keep in a jar in the fridge) with Korean BBQ sauce in a tortilla.

I made ramen noodles with veggies and sautéed shrimp. It smelled delicious but was actually a little bland. I was disappointed. The pita bread that I brushed with oil, salt, paprika, and cumin and then baked was outstanding though.

And you're still awake?

Homemade chicken and dumplings from the first day of our annual fall festival. (I think they were a little heavy on the paprika, maybe, or some similar spice. Still edible, tho.)

So I actually decided to make life more complicated and went with empanadas. Never made them before but they turned out great and our Hispanic employees gave them their seal of approval. Somebody made a shrimp ceviche that was absolutely amazing.

Today was last day lunch for one of our planners. So we went to an Asian Fusion type place, and I had Pad Thai.

Lots of lime wedge juice gave it the right kick.

Those are pepperoni. One of the hallmarks of Buffalo pizza is having 'cupped' pepperoni.

I think I am going to have a Thai version of Spicy Bamboo with Beef and Rice.

Although the picture of the Pizza above is making me crave pizza as well.

I had some soup too: I had to pick something up from the pharmacy so I walked to the fancy grocery store next to it and got a pint of fresh spicy shrimp gumbo and brought that home. Delicious!

After a busted trip to Lowe's on lunch hour, I scarfed veggies and meat from Panda Express. (Have to tank up for Council tonight)

Jimmy John Liautaud is the worst human being I have ever had to work with.

I had a crappy apple for lunch but alas somebody brought in leftover pizza from a lunch meeting so excuse me . . .

Had a basic diner burger with onion rings eating out for a coworker's 50th bday.

Leftover avgolemono soup I made last night for dinner. It's delicious but I wish I would have brought a roll or hunk of bread to go with it.

I had the final bit of leftover avgolemono soup today. I made sure to pack a requisite hunk of bread today but left my little Tupperware container of cut up veggies sitting in the fridge at home.
