NEVERENDING ♾️ The NEVERENDING What's Ailing You Now? Thread

You might get some relief from wearing compression socks too. My favorites are Sockwell and Comrad.

I have a few pair that I use to aid recovery after long runs so I've been wearing those for a few days, and while I was sleeping. It seems to have helped a little bit. Mine are a bit older and have probably lost some of their elasticity though so I was actually going to go to a medical supply store and get a pair of the good ones today but this arnica stuff is like magic!

I am not normally one for homeopathic medicine and I generally put chiropractors maybe a half step above faith healers, but this guy was on to something! If I go back to the gym tomorrow morning I'll have to thank him for the advice.

My mom is a chiropractor. I see the short term benefits. I also wear compression socks. I I got bit in one of lower legs by a baby brown recluse spider. Ever since that leg has swelled up. The compression socks helped keep down the swelling. It does help.

I donate plasma regularly and once a year, a blood sample is taken to test. Last one came back with protein level at 5.8 and 6.0 is the minimum. Took another sample to test with no result as of today. Said it happens to everyone at least once and the 5.8 is not a worry at this time unless it is consistently low. I do need to schedule a physical and colonoscopy.

Just some information-the day before the colonoscopy sucks but the day of the procedure is fine which includes a very good nap.

When I buy the arnica gel I always look for the one with a non-homeopathic amount of arnica in it.

Glad to hear arnica works for you. Homeopathy, in my understanding, is "hair of the dog that bit you". It derives from 19th century European practice, around the same time doctors bled people to cure them and malaria was said to because by "bad air".
Is non homeopathic content higher or lower?

Higher- like there is a measurable amount of arnica in it- as opposed to homeopathic “the more diluted this is the stronger it is” in which case just rub on tap water, right?

I've been down for 3 days with the flu. Started as a tickle in the throat, moved rapidly to fever and chills, and after 3 days I am not feeling like what you scrape off your shoe.

I'm not well, but I feel better.

Tested negative for covid twice.

Our household was felled by the stomach bug circulating in our area. Not fun and the time change did not make anything better.

Elbow is in pain now. I go to the doctor on Thursday for a good poking. I'll ask him about it then.

I have doctor’s appointments on Thursday and Friday this week. Getting old sucks.

I got a positive result on something called Cologard, which is a genetic based stool screen that indicates intestinal polyps, which are precancerous. That indication mandates colonoscopy, which is its own kind of ordeal.
At my referral consult with an endoscopy practitioner the NP that met me walked in the door laughing and said, "Thought you were going to get away with it!"
I said, it's not funny, but she kept on laughing, I guess over all the money they were soon to bill my insurance for.

I've lost a year of my life, nearly my marriage at times and will likely lose my job or need to find a new one after getting really sick and being hospitalized a year ago. I should if just crawled into bed and stayed thee, I would be at the exact same spot.

I've seen nearly every category of specialist, except a gynecologist, with no answers or even good questions from the drs.

Best descriptions of my condition:
Internal medicine- nefarious agents, opportunistic virus
infectious disease- nothing weird or wonderful for us to find
Neurologist - yes, you'll just have to live with it.
Naturopath - tried to put me on a starvation diet
liver specialist- lose 10% of your body wright, this is after I lost vlose to 30% of my weight and was given drugs to gain wright, that then caused me to get liver disease.

With the exception of the Naturopath, it was mostly "free" guess you do get what you pay for.

Yeesh, sorry to hear about this @donk ! I hope someone figures it out for you and you get back on the road to health!

I'm sad to hear this. I hope that someone finds a diagnosis and treatment. Try to stay positive, even though it must feel impossible.

Sorry to hear that. It is so frustrating when they can't figure out what is going on. Have you worked with a Functional Medicine doctor? Sometimes they can be helpful as they look at your situation holistically rather than just by system.

Out of the blue - vertigo
That's weird. A lady I know just told me Sunday that she lost her hearing in her left ear due to a mini-stroke on that side that was happening over and over and caused her to have vertigo. They misdiagnosed it and she lost that hearing. Be careful, OK?

^^And my company's wonky WFH policy means I'm taking sick leave for the days I'm supposed to be in the office, rather than WFH.

So I'm going to end up with no sick leave and no vacation time. Wow. Way to go, HR.

The last day and a half of vacation, my allergies kicked in; maybe a summer cold. Flying back from Albany I wore a mask to reassure surrounding passengers when I sneezed or coughed. I flew back Friday and for the rest of the day and most of Saturday I did very little. I did manage to get my lawn mowed; even with a mask my nose was running like crazy at the end. Sunday I felt better, but still quite a runny nose. Marginally better this morning.

I ask this in all seriousness, why are people still testing for Covid? I mean I can see if you are having major issues like difficulty breathing but beyond that, what's the point? People have illness all the time. If I don't feel well I stay home and treat the symptoms and if it goes more than a few days I see a doctor.

I tested because I recognized the symptoms: fever, deep chest cough, snotty nose, and body aches.

I don't test for simply allergy symptoms but add in the fever and body aches, and I want to know if I've got the flu or COVID.

I had someone today call in with COVID. HR doesn't accept a home test and they have to be out for 5 days so they have to go to a Dr. We have a couple of people in the office who have breathing issues and two with ongoing cancer battles. I appreciate people staying home when they have COVID or anything else.

Suffered through a colonoscopy this week. The gutbomb prep is the worst part. The doctor was so thoughtful and thorough that she included a photo of my anus, along with other disgusting interior views.

Have you ever seen yours up close?

6 month blood lab work
A1C was 6.5
Cholesterol was 55 (low enough)
Creatinine was .9 (good kidney function)
