Yeah, this weather seemed to throw a lot of folks for loop. Almost as if it were unexpected. For example, they didn't salt the roads this morning. I hate to break it to them, but mid-March is pretty much fair game for anything weather-wiseIt was 14º on my drive into the office this morning and the windchill says it currently feels like 3º!
There was a tiny bit of blowing snow around our neighborhood but as I got a couple miles north when I was headed towards the office and passed by a small lake there was suddenly a lot more snow and the road was very icy. There was a pretty bad accident on the road about a block south of our office building. Southbound traffic looked like it was backed up at least a mile behind the accident... thankfully I was headed north.

For us it's late February to about now. All of the azaleas and cherry trees are blooming and a late cold snap kills them all. Two years ago, people lost a ton of trees and plants because of a late cold front that killed trees in early April. The last couple weeks of March and first couple weeks of April is always my least favorite time of year. We get teased with the occasional glimpse of spring but winter is definitely not over. We get wild swings in temps and everything is still has the grey, grimey remnants of winter salts all over it.
I will second this as being the time of the year when I hate living in Michigan the most. The last couple weeks of March and first couple weeks of April is always my least favorite time of year.
