NEVERENDING ♾️ The NEVERENDING Weather Thread

It was rainy and dreary all day yesterday but the rain cleared out for a bit from about 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. which worked perfectly with our elementary school trunk-or-treat. The temps were in the 60s and it was pretty pleasant but I think the threat of rain kept a few kids away as we had a lot more leftover candy than the past couple of years.

It's rainy again this morning but temps are nice again and in the 60s.

I wish this weather held out until the Lion's Monday Night Football game, but that does not look like it's happening. I like tailgating, but not in the cold!!

Snow in the forecast tomorrow in Chicagoland. Last year was unseasonably mild on Halloween, this year the other end of the spectrum.

Maybe snow tonight. I'm thinking it's going to track north of us, though.

We ended up getting several hours of snow yesterday. Less than an inch accumulation stuck around, but enough so that another generation of Michigander kids will grow up to tell their kids "quityerbitchin, back when WE were kids there were BLIZZARDS on Halloween. You don't know what 'cold' is......"

Monday it was in the upper 80s. This morning it was in the mid 30s.

At least it didn't snow here like it did in parts of Michigan.

Last night it was a light rain and in the 50's with a bit of a breeze. It was enough to be annoying but really added to the 'spooky' ambiance of the neighborhood.

Sunday night I set up a portable greenhouse for the plants in advance of the big cold front. Monday night I set up the extremely portable greenhouse after the big cold front.

At this point, I typically leave the outdoor plants to their own devices. Tomatoes and peppers aren't going to produce even if they aren't killed by the frost/snows that usually dominate this time of year.

We didn't plant the fall garden this year, unfortunately. We just cut all the herbs and have them drying indoors. Mostly we just re-plant again in spring like you say, but the greenhouse is for the botanical curiosities my wife has collected. Cold seasons always make our house look like a big grow op.

It also appears you're in a much warmer climate (TX) than we are (MI).

I went outside around 11:00 p.m. to blow out the candles in the pumpkins and was surprised by the ~1.5" of snow on the ground but figured it would be all gone by the time I woke up. Nope... it stuck around through the night and is still all there just before lunch today.

Currently, there's an inch or two of snow on the ground. Been there since Saturday. It's supposed to melt by Weds. Which is good because I neglected to get the leaves raked up and need a window to get it done before it snows again.

Got up to 57 degrees this weekend. In years past I would have expected to find a few inches of snow on the ground in early December. I guess this is the new normal.

We had both in Northern Illinois. The snow happened a few days prior to the warm up and melted by afternoon.

Overnight rain Sat night/Sun morn woke me up a couple times. It was wet all weekend, but should be dry all week. Need to get the remaining leaves up.

Extended forecast is indicating a green Christmas. But I suppose its a bit early. Last year Buffalo got enough Christmas snow for several decades...

We're going to be in St. Augustine for Christmas this year - for now the forecast is low 70s with a chance for some light rain on the 25th.

Looks like we might get some weather today. That thin red line should pass by at rush hour. So much fun! We are in a level 2 risk, but it is level 3 just a few miles down the road. The schools here are letting out 3 hours early and in some other counties they are closed today.

The weather alerts here in Michigan were a big meh. Mrs. Me and I went through the ritual of preparing the cars with windshield screens just in case, but there wasn't even an inch of snow on ground when I got up and it's going to go away later with mid to high 30's and rain!

We got unexpected snow and ice overnight. Schools north of here went from delayed to closed.

Our boss told those of us who planned to come in to work at home. Rt.30 out that way was closed because of ice and snow.

It's warming up now and conditions should improve soon.

Three or four inches of really heavy wet snow this morning. I'm taking the afternoon off to shovel the driveway.

An inch or so here and barely snowing, think it will pick back up later today, or they closed schools for nothing.

Picking back up again.
Looking at the extended forecast it looks like we'll have snow on the ground for at least a few weeks.

Thunder!

According to the radar, the rain should be out of here by 5:30 & Council is at 6:00. We shall see.

We were told we'd get up to 4" on our side but ended up getting nothing over here.

We had a funeral this morning and my wife's aunt and her cousin drove in from your neck of the woods. They said it was extremely slow going (like averaging 15mph on I-94 coming east slow) until they got about halfway between Jackson and Ann Arbor where it became clear sailing the rest of the way into Metro Detroit. Another one of her cousins and his wife live out that way too.

We’ve got about 2-3” rain and high winds expected. It rained a bunch the other day so water levels are already high. Pretty sure there will be flooding in low lying areas.

Four inches lluvia in 12 hrs along with a big wind. Our county is so rural they closed the schools due to most roads being dirt and buses get stuck a lot culverts wash out and such.

That’s a lot.
