Y'all talking about snow and I already had to cut my grass for the first time this season.
To be fair we do have flowers blooming too... Might have to look to find them, but they are out there.Y'all talking about snow and I already had to cut my grass for the first time this season.![]()
The azaleas here started blooming saturday and will probably all be opening by tomorrow. Then we've got a two weeks of color before they're just another bush.To be fair we do have flowers blooming too... Might have to look to find them, but they are out there.
(Roughly paraphrasing John Belushi.)55 now but rain changing to snow tomorrow. As far as weather goes, I hate March.
Wow. We’ve only got a little rain here 200 miles due east.
It was snow in McHenry County. Mostly melted by now.Wow. We’ve only got a little rain here 200 miles due east.
Weird. It was 80 degrees and sunny in the northern ATL 'burbs this past Saturday.
Stay safe good sirEverything is getting shut down due to "as bad as it gets thunderstorm/wind/tornado threat. Pretty unprecedented.
Last day of the month and the east coast has a chance of tornadoes. Back in the UP, it is snowing still. We got 6-7" snow last Friday. City Hall actually closed an hour early because roads were getting worse near the end of the work day. As of this morning 99% of the snow we got has already melted. Perhaps the old adage will hold true...March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb.
It did the same up here in the western lower Great Lakes region.Overnight temp April4/5 in the mid Ohio River Valley did not fall below 70'F. That would be common in, say, August during the Dog Days, but the first week of April? This does not bode well.

Fiona and Ian Are Retired as Hurricane Names
Names are retired when a storm causes history-making destruction or death and reusing them would be insensitive, the World Meteorological Organization said.www.nytimes.com
It was 73 at 5 am, 47 now,Holy carp, it's 70 out! This is the first warm warm day we've had this year. Supposed to get up to almost 80 next week.
I'm getting your weather this evening. It was 73 at 5 am, 47 now,
as posted on TwitterAlta snow totals for 2022-2023 season so far...873" or 72.75 feet. Will be 60-70s next week. Surely flooding will soon follow.
Back to a normal 35 this morning.
NJ had 6 confirmed tornadoes on Saturday. RT's uncle in Sullivan, IN had one pass a mile north of their house last week. The Man told us to leave at 3:15, about 45 minutes ahead of quitting time due to strong storms in the vicinity. I didn’t question The Man’s wisdom and skedaddled. Ninety minutes later NWS issued a tornado warning for my ‘burg and my son and I decamped for the basement. My daughter was at her job as a barista, so that was a little worrying. While we recorded winds close to 80-mph, we didn’t have a tornado locally. Thankfully, and it is all clear now.
It is a bit freaky seeing your town specifically in a Tornado Warning. Why yes, I think I will have another glass of wine, thankyouverymuch.
I saw where they are calling it a 1000 year flood event. Up to like 24 inches of water in a day.Oldest brother is in Ft. Lauderdale. He said everywhere was flooded. It took him about 2 hours to drive 40/50 blocks. His screened porch flooded but he was able to keep it out of the house for now.
