What are the odds that we have "alternative electors" again this year?
Good point about turnout. I could see turnout being down across the entire board. Republicans skipping because of Trump. And Democrats lower because their isn't as much anti-Trump because he isn't the incumbent.I think it comes down to turnout. It could be the worst in some time. There are a fair number of Republicans I know who have said they are not voting or skipping presidential block. Turnout has been horrible so far but I think it could go either way.
Probably about the same odds that we have for "alternative facts".What are the odds that we have "alternative electors" again this year?
He's also not a Boomer.Well we've already passed that since Biden is an octogenarian.![]()
The story of their age gap was going discussed last time he was up for election. They met when he was 42 and an executive director for TN FFA. She was 17 and the student president for TN FFA. She received an endowed scholarship in his parents name. They at least waited four years till she was 21 to get married. There was an article a while back about how he made college possible for her and changed her whole future.** ahem **

I use to be really good at knowing all of the president's cabinet members. That definitely went out the window with Trump. I'm so disengaged from politics at this point I couldn't name a single person in Biden's cabinet. In his 4 yours in office, tRump managed to set a record while in the White House: the highest number of staff and cabinet turnovers in history, 85%.
These days, I think politicians should have to pass a citizenship exam before they're allowed to run for office. Some politicians in our state want high school students to pass a citizenship exam to graduate high school.
I looked at what the test includes and if a person took US History or Civics in HS, everything on the test is covered in those courses.
What are your thoughts? Personally, I question if it is needed if they took the classes. However I do think it is important to at least have a basic fundamental understanding of how the country works.
BTW, here is the test and answers:

We had to pass a Constitution test in high school. Do they not do that any more? Some politicians in our state want high school students to pass a citizenship exam to graduate high school.

It appears that they do not. I asked my oldest about it and he said that American Government and US History are both elective courses and not required to graduate from his school. We had to pass a Constitution test in high school. Do they not do that any more?

You know, I tried to watch this video, but he sounds so absolutely disgusting, that I had to end it after just a few seconds.I bet he'd gladly lick her behind clean now to take back the things he said about HRC.
Frequently I find your political posts to be too hyperbolic for my tastes, but I'm afraid I have to agree with this sentiment. You know, I tried to watch this video, but he sounds so absolutely disgusting, that I had to end it after just a few seconds.
Pure filth is what spews out of that diseased brain and mouth.
Perhaps… but there is a clear ‘safe’ choice and ‘unsafe’ choice. Not happy with either of the two-party system candidates on the ballot. Will be an interesting election.
We had to have US history and you could either take Government or some other type of similar class. My daughter took a class that included government, personal finance and a couple of other random things that seemed odd. But she went to a private religious high school. It appears that they do not. I asked my oldest about it and he said that American Government and US History are both elective courses and not required to graduate from his school.
being a good citizen
It will pass muster. Here in the bible belt's big brass buckle zone, think Mr. Wrasslin', nutcase politicians have been hanging the big ten in county courthouses for many years, arguing that it is not religious but historic...What is your reaction?

I go with the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. If you display one, you must display them all. I'm sure there will be a 1st amendment case brought by some left wing group that isn't really impacted. It's just how we do things now. There will also be some smart teacher that posts it in mini print under her desk so no one sees it, just to comply with the law. What is your reaction?

Wingdings. Or Ancient Hebrew if you're going for accuracy. I guess if they want to meet Title II of ADA they should also make sure they are in braille and coded for dyslexia. Multiple language versions for kids who are ESL.Comic Sans is easy to read.
Sorry!Moderator note:
Gedunker ~ In the very limited chance you've lived your life under a rock, I must post an obligatory NSFW on the attached media. Thank you and carry on!
Which list of ten, how do we decide which tradition's list gets preference? Should we prefer the Masoretic Hebrew text or the Greek septuagint, since the latter (though a translation) is older (and more official?)?Wingdings. Or Ancient Hebrew if you're going for accuracy. Directly related Supreme Court opinion -each classroom should also have a poster-sized picture of Trump. That would likely cause the Ten Commandments posters to burst into flames. Problem solved.
