Trump apparently WANTS to testify (never mind he never will). If he did, I could totally see Trump pulling a Colonel Nathan Jessup on the stand.

Thankful that I'm not in the jury pool, but have been asking myself, if I was - could I be fair? It would be unpleasant as hell, but I think in the end, I could, indeed.

I think the bigger issue is could you be objective knowing that if you side against him, he will air his grievances and you'll have a mob following afterwards. There's a pretty good digest of the trial track record related to Trump.

Good video, thanks for sharing.
Yeah, my personal safety didn't enter into the original equation. Hard to believe 75,000,000 Americans voted for that POS four years ago.

Since I'm in a small town, I'm on a fairly regular invite list for multiple prayer breakfast and Christian leadership events. They are not mandatory, but its noticed if you miss too many or regularly.

A couple of them bring in speakers or leadership gurus to speak on business related issues. There was one recently that was better than most through most of the talk. Billionaire and a banking titan spoke on how he built and rescued multiple businesses by applying Biblical principles.
1. Be a servant leader. Build your employees and act selflessly. It's not all about you.
2. Always lead with humility and grace
3. Act justly and fair even when its hard
4. Lead with mercy and a forgiving spirit
5. Be community driven and pay your civic rent.

Like I said good principles for just about any leader no matter what your faith may be. At the very end though the talk started to go off the deep end. He was speaking extemporaneously. At the very end he started to go into politics. You tell he waivered a bit on whether to discuss. He soft peddled his comments and then he went full on "we can no longer be silent, it may be our only hope to save the country." He went on about red America and blue cities and which one was superior. Then went on a little too long of a diatribe on business leaders saving the world.

I still can't imagine the 300 people sitting in the room listening to the speaker, nodding along the whole time and then thinking, "Those values describe Trump." I can't figure out the disconnect.

Those values are also vacant from the far-left in their opinion, so they're picking the lesser of two evils in their mind. Unfortunate that this is what we're left with; the lesser of two evils.

I appreciate your comments but the fighters in this ring don't quite sit far corners apart. What Democrats are running are certainly not "far left".

It’s weird world man, John Sinclair died, 4/20 came and went, and the local weed shop has a fully locked-n-loaded rent-a-cop at the front door to greet you.

She may have forgotten that Americans love dogs more than they love politicians.
Many years ago the national lampoon published a cover photo of a puppy with a pistol held to his ear. The title said if you don't buy this issue we will shoot this puppy!

It cost them plenty of negative response.

We must settle this question now, whether in a free government the minority have the right to break up the government whenever they choose. If we fail, it will go far to prove the incapability of the people to govern themselves.
Abraham Lincoln
Is this so fitting considering our current time ?

This is one of the least surprising things I've read:

Former President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, was selected by the Florida GOP as an at-large delegate for Florida at the Republican National Convention, according to a list of delegates obtained by CNN.

Barron joins several other family members – Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump – who were also selected. Steve Witkoff, Trump’s longtime friend and luxury real estate developer, along with Trump ally Sergio Gor are also listed as delegates.

CNN has reached out to the Trump campaign for comment.

Classic- does ithis still apply?

“It was miraculous. It was almost no trick at all, he saw, to turn vice into virtue and slander into truth, impotence into abstinence, arrogance into humility, plunder into philanthropy, thievery into honor, blasphemy into wisdom, brutality into patriotism, and sadism into justice. Anybody could do it; it required no brains at all. It merely required no character.”

Just like that, Daddy has thrust his poor undeserving boy onto the stage as a public figure. Bye, bye privacy. I suppose now the boy as delegate will be granted Secret Service protection.

In the non-trail headlines today:

- Kristi Noem is now banned in 20% of her state by various native american tribes

- tRump praises Hannibal Lecter

I swear you can't make this sh!t up

When they make his biopic, they need to contact the casting director who made John Travolta the definitive Robert Shapiro in that FX show about American crime about OJ Simpson. A second set of thumbs up for casting Schwimmer as a Kardashian. Television gold! My suggestion would be to cast Steve Buscemi as Donald J Trump. Hear me out, Buscemi can play a really good uptight angry person, a la Fargo!

In Erik Larson's book "The Demon of Unrest" on pag241

about the Electoral College count, General Winfield Scott -
He vowed that anyone who obstructed the count would be
"lashed to the muzzle of a twelve-ponder and fired out of the window of the Capital."
Scott would then "manure the hills of Arlington withthe fragments of his body."

From a NY Times article today, quoting a spokesperson for the Trump campaign: “more and more Americans are chipping in every day to support President Trump as they watch him get politically persecuted by Joe Biden and the corrupt Democrats in this sham show trial.”

I could not say that with a straight face, let alone without just completely cracking up laughing.

What message does this send to the rest of the world. I mean really think about it for a moment. On one hand, we have an former president egomaniac who is on trial because he likely paid off a "pron" star to no talk about hanky panky and then lied about it. On the other hand you have someone who for all real purposes appears to be losing his mind and rational ability to function.

This is who we have to pick from to be the leader of the free world? Our pollical system has become such an embarrassment.

Both of your hands refer to Trump

I have not seen credible, sustained evidence or examples that Biden is "losing his mind and rational ability to function".

Trump has rarely been able to string a cogent paragraph together for at least a few years now and seems to be spiraling downward. He is totally delusional if he honestly thinks that he won the 2020 election regardless of all the evidence to the contrary and he continues to perpetuate that lie/delusion. Back in 2015 and 2016, I was no fan of Trump but I naïvely thought he could surround himself with thoughtful, capable advisors and cabinet members and boy was I wrong about that. In a subsequent administration he'd be scraping the bottom of the barrel for folks who would be willing to work with him in those key leadership and executive positions and you know that once he "fires" them, he'll come out swinging about how stupid they were from the get go. If he has to keep firing these idiots at the top, why does he keep hiring idiots?

Of these two candidates, there is only one who I am worried about their mental acuity.

Oh... I guess I could vote for the guy who had a parasite eat part of his brain... :r:

There's a reason no other company has sought him to function as a CEO, permanent or interim, or as a "fixer" of any type for a specific business issue. He is not good at the fundamental of business--surround yourself with talented people that know things.

I totally agree with everything else you said. But this. Really? I am deeply concerned about the President's ability to function physically and mentally. It's not good.

He certainly doesn't project as the "Leader of the Free World".

I would love to sit in on cabinet meetings to see how conversations with him play out behind closed doors.

I think there are too many talking heads that have a vested goal in Biden being old and incompetent so it gets over or reported or exaggerated. Granted over heads just ignore the age thing entirely. Using my own eyes, he's old, he's a bit slower in his speech than he used to be. Comes with being old. Is he incompetent, nope. My concern is that if he goes another four years he gonna die. I mean he's old. Then we have the VP as pres. I don't know if she would do a good job or not, but I'll take her over the alternative. She hasn't tried to overthrow my government or take my vote away from me.

Personally, I think all these old people just need to start retiring. You're in your 70's and 80s. Go enjoy your golden years.
