Okay, so where do you draw the line?My big problem with the program is that it allowed loan forgiveness to households making up to $250K/year I mean WTF. I certainly don't want to subsidize millionaires.

It should be a sliding scale that always includes me.Okay, so where do you draw the line?
I hear $250 being tossed out as if it is millionaires. With inflation, I think it is very far from the millionaire lifestyle. It is without question upper middle class, but it is not millionaire status.Okay, so where do you draw the line?

I took Super Amputee Cat's comment to be sarcasm... like, how does a household making $250k lead to someone say that they don't want to subsidize millionaires? That's obviously sarcasm. I mean, I guess I have to admit that I am assuming Super Amputee Cat is good at maths.
It's pretty much a lock that DeSantis is the next POTUS unless the Dems find a true common sense moderate who isn't beholden to the far left.
Don't go taking our one good senator! For some reason, Mark Kelly comes to mind.
Seven college kids killed in one night between UVA and UI. It feels like the news of both events will be through the news cycle by tomorrow
And how is this political. Oh that's right... blame the tool instead of the reason.
BTW, there have been 4 suicides on the campus of NC State in 2022... but no one wants to talk about mental health.
Not sure where you're going with your statement as the post did not reference anything about the "tool" just that seven college students were killed. Maybe funding to figure out why in the f$%& so many people are so angry they want to kill others. That's political. Perhaps a better way to manage access to firearms. That's political. Clearly that's your issue but the post did not reference that in any way whatsoever. Lots of things are political. Not just your particular hot button issue.
Your right... I apologize for jumping to conclusions and will wait until @bureaucrat#3 provides clarification. You don't have to wait. I'll answer it right now. Maybe the poster was talking about the same thing you are, the "why" of it all which is political because it's going to take political will and funding to do it right. And I'll never be considered brilliant so you will probably have to wait a while for that.
A leader has to make some very tough decisions...that's why I've decided to go with the chimichangas.
You got me. I guess I could have been making a statement about how dangerous liberal colleges are, but my main point is how quickly we're all going to move on from this. I should have that I added that I think this is a policy failure and I'm tired of political inaction.Your right... I apologize for jumping to conclusions and will wait until @bureaucrat#3 provides clarification.
Hear Ye Hear Ye... I have an announcement to make.So yea, Trump is in. His speech was very low key for him. I mean it was lots of crazy talk without any facts, and lots of misinformation, which is normal. But it wasn't high energy, we are going to change the world, like he seems to like to do.
Now we wait for DeSantis.
Correct on the first part.I predict a Repub. House, Dem. Senate coupled with the Biden presidency.
Nothing of any real substance will get done by Congress and it will be a defacto lame duck 2 years for Biden as the 2024 electioneering will begin on January 3, 2023.
Correct on the first part.
Surely still correct on the second part (but I sincerely welcome being wrong).
DEM/REP ballot predictions for November 2024?
Can't see Biden getting the nod but I also thought Clinton would trounce Trump. Can't see Trump, either. If he runs as an independent, it will be a DEM in the WH as his running will take away REP votes.
? Not asking if a DEM would join Trump. Not a single DEM would join the Trump ticket. You'll see someone like Palin or MTG instead.
Perhaps I was just being naively optimistic that he's toothless now, but many thought the same throughout the 2016 election cycle, so...ever vigilant. You were wrong on the second part, as the electioneering has now started with Florida Man's announcement.
? Not asking if a DEM would join Trump.
Ross Perot has entered the chat.My apologies as I read it wrong. I thought you were saying Trump would run as an independent with a Dem on the ticket. I could certainly see some sort of split between the more typical REP and the Trump REPs. Maybe we will have a stronger third party vote, just like Mski's has been wanting.I know that Trump is not the third party option Mskis would want

...in the sand.Okay, so where do you draw the line?
Even the Democratic Party couldn't be that stupid, could they?I will vote Green before I vote Trump.
Side note, a coworker thinks that Nancy is going to announce that she will challenge Biden for the nomination. She too is a HELL NO for me.

Actually I'm sure they can but in this case I just can't imagine it.
Age related cognitive decline.Lots of chatter since February 2021, and its still going on, about about who the dems might cough up for a presidential nominee in 2024... I have to admit, I struggle to understand this line of thought... wouldn't Biden run in 2024?
Pelosi is even older and more unpopular than Biden. ZERO chance of this happening.I will vote Green before I vote Trump.

FTFY.Not to discriminate, but can we have a presidential election process not filled with only those that are/will beoctogenariansBOOMERS when they're in office?
Age related cognitive decline.
Has that been publicly disclosed by the Biden-Harris team?
It's pretty obvious that Biden is not always "with it". Now how much that really impacts his ability to govern is debatable but it's out there and plenty of folks on both sides of the aisle see it. And I think this is the most important point if you're a Democrat and want to keep one as POTUS: if you're depending on the youth vote (and it sure seems like they are if the mid-terms are any indication) you're probably going to get a more enthused electorate if the candidate is not as old or older than most of their grandparents.
Seriously?Has that been publicly disclosed by the Biden-Harris team?
Fetterman.I appreciate your analysis, thank you for taking the time to explain it me cogently and effectively.
Based on your analysis, then how is the cognoscenti proposing that Biden back out gracefully? Would he even back out? If not, then is there a GOP 92 primary showdown a al Buchanan v Bush for Biden v _______ (Beto? AOC? Gretch? Harris? Newsom? Pete? Sanders?)?
There's a difference though right? I mean I think Fetterman is totally aware of what's going on and his mind is sharp as far as being cognitive but it's the getting the message out part that is a bit tough for him right now.Fetterman.
...because castles made of sand slip into the sea, eventually.---Jimi Hendrix...in the sand.
Nader/Wendell Berry '24. Who cares about age?Age related cognitive decline.
I was half joking. There's a difference though right? I mean I think Fetterman is totally aware of what's going on and his mind is sharp as far as being cognitive but it's the getting the message out part that is a bit tough for him right now.
I think Fetterman is fully there cognitively.Fetterman.
