Even if he was prosecuted, he has the vast majority of the GOP in thrall and there's no way you're gonna find 12 jury members without at least 1 Trump cult member.Well, there goes my hopes and dreams for America.
I really have trouble grasping how the GOP is missing an opportunity to truly stomp him out. He screwed them in the midterms, demonstrating that his coattails are short/non-existent. They clearly don't want him as a candidate. Get on-board with a judicial process and make it easy on yourself. I used to think the parties were all about self-preservation first, but the GOP's handling of Trump has smashed that belief. And so it is almost done... or at least this stage:

When my husband told me about it I thought he was joking or read it on some satirical site. Nope. I found it funny when people who paid the $99.99 realized the card was a digital NFT. There's a sucker born every minute. It's also been reported that some of the images were "lifted" from small clothing websites. For instance, the sheriff card has the same duster with the same folds/creases/tabs just in a different color as one that is on some clothing website.
The company selling this stuff address is a UPS Store mailbox in Utah. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!
I thought the same, but now they can't give in to that because it would give the Dem's a win and we can't have that.I used to think the parties were all about self-preservation first, but the GOP's handling of Trump has smashed that belief.

No. Especially now that the GOP will take over the House in two weeks. They will stonewall the January 6th investigations and probably end up investigating the January 6th Committee itself. The big question is do you think that Trump will get prosecuted for his involvement in January 6th Riots?
The GOP controlled House will only be able to investigate the investigation as the current Committee will finish its work and disband before the control change. They will stonewall the January 6th investigations and probably end up investigating the January 6th Committee itself.
But they will dispute it. Not with logic or anything rational, but it will be totally disputable.Once the Committee is finished, its evidence and product will be part of the public record and indisputable.

Question is if it comes down to a Harris / DeSantis election, who wins?
I don't think Harris gets the top billing. If Biden doesn't run, I could see someone else stepping up and having her as a VP again maybe.Harris just doesn't move the needle. She won't win a single new voter. If the Dems want to win they need to find a better candidate. And no, the sitting president is not a better candidate.
Like a Yellow Lab? I'd probably vote for the dog regardless, because it will for sure be a 'very good dog!'...if dems...run a yellow dog...
I’m not thrilled with Biden the man, but as president he’s gotten a boatload done and at that, with a couple of Republicans in Democrats’ clothing. And, his handling of Vladday Putin’s Special Military Operation in Ukraine has been masterful. Democrats could certainly do worse, IMO.<snip> And no, the sitting president is not a better candidate.
I don't disagree with anything you said. But the reality of it is he's going to be 82 years old when/if he's reelected and for lack of a better word, he comes across often as being slightly "dotty". I want to know that my President has full possession of his faculties.I’m not thrilled with Biden the man, but as president he’s gotten a boatload done and at that, with a couple of Republicans in Democrats’ clothing. We live in a zone so red that the blue vote reliably gets about 25% of votes. That said, a daughter married a local man whose ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War, and were granted lands way before our state was gridded into "land lots" of 640 acres each, which defined a "section". A "quarter section" was 160 acres. Quarter that to get "forty and a mule".Like a Yellow Lab? I'd probably vote for the dog regardless, because it will for sure be a 'very good dog!'

Soldiers from the War of 1812 were given similar land grants in my native region of northeastern lower Michigan. These grants were seldom ever seen by the grantee as that part of MI (then the Michigan Territory) was literal wilderness and only accessible by boat through the Great Lakes (Erie than Huron). We live in a zone so red that the blue vote reliably gets about 25% of votes. Anyway that family still votes as members of the group called "yellow dog" that votes Democratic even if their candidate looks like Ole Yaller.

The January 6th House Committee was just a smokescreen to keep the public off the back of the DOJ who are conducting their own investigation and already have most, if not all, the information and evidence presented by the committee. It's aim, besides letting the DOJ do its job, is to present the case to the American public but otherwise has nothing to do with prosecution.No. Especially now that the GOP will take over the House in two weeks. I saw an article on Politico or one of those that said Biden will ask Harris to resign, appoint a better candidate (the article suggested Gavin Newsom), then Biden himself would resign to allow the appointee to run as incumbent. At first I wasHarris just doesn't move the needle. She won't win a single new voter. If the Dems want to win they need to find a better candidate. I agree; she was a terrible candidate. I really don't like her on a personal level. I think she would have been a better-than-competent president though. But the D's have also put up Hillary, who was a terrible candidate... so who knows.
I would love to see a 40-50 year old President next. Someone who "gets" social media, but in a positive way, not a weird look at me Trump way.
They did.I hope the Senate passes the budget this week.
