My mother use to work in the maternity ward and came home one day with this gem: twins named LaTicka and LaTocka.

In high school, there was a Crystal Cummings and a Robin Robins.

Mobile, Alabama had a mayor with the last name of Outlaw.

I'm sure someone's written an interesting paper on unisex names becoming only (or predominately) female names. I know men of an older generation named Kim (male and not Asian), Courtney, Lacey and Leslie.

My uncles name is Dana Kim + Last Name.

There was a local girl highschool basketball player when I was younger, named Fonda Dix.

My parents' neighbors have the last name Stacy, and the guy's mom's first name is Stacy. Yep, she is Stacy Stacy.

There's a local weathergirl by the name of Amy Freeze and a local realtor by the name of Michael Broker or something like that.

I'm thinking they're stage names, but...you never know!

Two girls I went to high school with:

Eva Braun (Hitler's wife)
Anna Rechia (no, she wasn't stick thin)

Had a phone conversation a few years ago with a girl named Candy Stripper.

Pretty ridiculous drag names out there, too:

Pussy Galore
Frida Laye
Amaya Mann
Incha Lada and her sister Chimi Changa
Baronass

I ran across a listing years ago for someone named Consuelo Rubenowicz. Thought it was an intersting melding of cultures.

In the DC area when I was in high school the paper ran an article around christmas about a family with the last name of Trees. Kids named Jack Pine, Merry Christmas, etc., etc.

On our city council we have a Butts and a Kuntz.

I used to know a guy with the last name of Teets. Seems to me to be one you'ld change as soon as possible.

Well, here's a strange name story for you.

To make this story less google-able, I'm going to space out the letters with periods in between them.

Recently, she got remarried. She became R.o.s.e. R.o.s.e.

I kid you not. Some nickname her Rose-squared, Rose to the power of 2, R.o.s.i.e. R.o.s.e., and r-squared.

Poor Rose. I wonder if she even likes roses.

I have a cousin (cousin's son) with a normal name but initials that may come to haunt him as he grows up. His names Simon T_ D_. I don't think his parents realized it until after he was named. Hopefully no one will ever by him anything monogrammed.

There was an obiturary in the local paper yesterday for Enormus F. Little, she was a teacher's aide (maiden name was Fair)

There's a local doctor here named Monica Monica.

I also knew of a person with an unusual name.

A.l.e.x.a A.l.e.x.a.n.d.r.a

Pardon me for the periods between the letters as I'm trying to keep this from being too googleable.

When I was a kid in Orlando there was a surgeon named Dr Blood, I always thought that was gross. I would see his sign every time I rode my bike to a friend's house.

There was a Canadian or US swimmer a few years ago called Misty Hymen. I always thought that had to be a tough name to live with. She was a very good swimmer if I recall - even beat one of the Aussie swimmers occasionally.

Anyone remember the 6'5" US volleyball player Flo Hyman? Another unfortunate name, but one incredible athlete. She died tragically in the mid-'80's.

My mother went to school with a woman named Roslyn Bottom (who went by Rosy). She married Richard Oven and became Rosy Bottom Oven.

My father used to work with a guy named Ovid Parmalou and I grew up with a guy named Upshur Whittock. In retrospect, I think these are pretty cool names - I certainly have not forgotten them and the last time I saw Upshur was over twenty years ago.

We used to drive through a small Michigan town where I was always amused by a sign for a Dr. Colon, proctologist. I've also seen a Dr. Toothaker, Dentist.

names

When I was in college I knew a girl names Douglass. Apparently it is an old Welsh or Irish family name. I also knew a guy whose first name was Floribert. He went by Al.

How about choosing from Cyburbia User Names? I'll freely grant the use of ofos to the little bugger regardless of it's gender. Maybe a baby Gedunker or a Tresmo? I pity poor little Budgie or RichmondJake though.

C'mon folks, put your usernames up for consideration.

Just found this thread thanks to the resurrection from ZG . I just wanted to add my two cents.

I went to high school with a kid named Dave Thomas. When I lived in Charlotte there was a weatherman named Larry Sprinkle, makes me wonder if that was his actual birth name? :)
