RTDNTOTO 🐻 Random Thoughts Deserving No Thread Of Their Own 20 (2025)

I took my oldest to her dentist appointment today and the dentist is in a little medical/professional plaza where every building has its own door to the outside. The dentist office is set up so there is no buffer, like your pizza joint. As I sat there I could feel a gust of cold outside air sweeping right into the waiting area each time somebody opened the door from the outside. :cold:
...more affordable office space.

I was doing my Sunday routines today, which includes going for a walk at one of a few parks in my rotation.

Today, I went to the Sparks Marina Park, and getting there involves driving past a Chik-Fil-A. I noticed a lot of cars in the lot, and wondered: did they finally realize how much business they lose by being closed one weekend day? I don't eat there, but being open on Sundays now would be a major event I'd hear about . . .

It wasn't until I got home that I figured it out: today is SATURDAY. I've been off work for so long (this is the fourth day in a row), i got out of sync. The good news is that means I have a bonus day off tomorrow that isn't really a bonus day.

At least I didn't think it was Monday and drive 30 miles to work.

It’s totally that time of year that you have no idea what day it is, if you’re supposed to be somewhere, or what you’re supposed to be doing šŸ˜†

I'm at work this morning.
2.5 hours into the work day, and not a phone in the office has rung yet. 0 emails received. Why am I here?

A friend of ours is flying from Miami to Detroit to Alpena today. He even had to borrow a heavy coat.

He's meeting his girlfriend's parents. I wish him luck.

I know that final destination very well. o_O :brofist:

He should have fun with the winter 'bomb cyclone' aftermath...if he even makes it there.

PM me a last name. I might know the family and/or am 3rd-5th cousin related. ;)

I saw someone post that tonight's Falcon's game represents the 3rd home regular season game (apparently there have been 4 or 5 preseason games) at Mercedes Benz Stadium since it opened in 2017 that did not occur on a Sunday. Which means they will have averaged one game a season the Chikfila is open.

Wifey roped me into watching "All Her Fault" on Peacock over the break.

Wow, what a show. Not exactly light and fluffy, but a good use of TV time.

Our next binge is "The Paper," which we are now three episodes into it. I like it more than she does due to my journalism background.

I only know about Alpena because they made fun of it all the time on the 90's sitcom "Home Improvement."

I survived Whammaeddon this year, giving me a 2-4 overall record.

I did hear the song a few times on the 25th, but the game was already over for the year.

Our building and the one across the corner got hit with graffiti over the holidays. Found the paint can in the gutter across the street. Just completed the police report.

Wife keeps pushing me to call discount tire on the kids tire I dropped off. They said Monday afternoon. 1:30 is barely afternoon. give them time.

Since the government has discontinued pennies, your 2 cents are either free or worth a nickle.

My almost three year old grandson was asked who brought him his presents. The person prompting him said, ā€œthe guy in the red suit.ā€ Without missing a beat, my grandson replied, ā€œSpider-Man.ā€ And now he tells everyone about how Spider-Man delivered presents to him. Personally I believe that Spider-Man is probably in better shape to deliver presents that Santa.

Sorry, I got bored during my five days off. I need to find a more constructive outlet. :)

Rumors flying of another Executive Order coming releasing us on January 2 . . . I don't see it happening, but I won't complain.

My fingers are cold this AM. If it isn't my fingers it is my toes. Why do I live in Ohio again? I've heard it nice this time of year in Spain...

My daughter landed in Barcelona last night. I think they were prepared for mid-50s. We're in the upper 20s, which is much better than what y'all are dealing with.

We really enjoyed Barcelona. I even got horrible food poisoning but still consider it a great trip!

Meanwhile Itty Bitty has been forever scarred by the thought of eating sprouts on a salad.

I am back at it

I loved Barcelona too - al lof Spain, really that I saw - Madrid, Stiges, Toledo as well as Barcelona - want to get down south next time
Spain was not high on my travel destination list but after our first trip to Malaga, we have been back 3 times. You should definitely check out Costa Brava and Costa del Sol.

The blue of the Mediterranean is like salve on a withered soul.

Both my sister & niece each spent a semester studying in Barcelona.
Does this qualify for the small world?

Was super excited for the World Cup to be in the US and was looking forward to coming back for a bit to catch some games. Now we've decided to skip it all together and watch from the local biergartens instead.

We love Spain too. We’ve stayed in Barcelona the most, but have also visited Cartagena, CadĆz, and Mallorca. We’ll be there in 2027 again, this time in Barcelona, Malaga, and Cartagena.

I have also fallen in love with Portugal.
