Having lived in OC I spent many an evening at M.R. Ducks including one that was quite possibly the drunkest I've ever been in my life. But that is a story for another day . . . .

BTW, the correct version is "wangs". Not wings.
 
We would normally be putting up lights and starting on our 76 ft tall tree, but this year the city is having a three day Veterans Day event over the weekend. So the festivities will start next Wednesday.
 
The decision to deny **** a variance when it comes to their potential shop, is not only biased, it shows an absolute lack of community engagement.

Its privileged, gate keepy, and down right disgusting.

**** has nothing but the best intentions and you have played your hand and shown you have absolutely no idea at how integral they are within their community.

I sincerely hope this outrageous decision comes back to royally bite you in the ass.

To deny community members instead of WORKING WITH THEM, is a symptom of the deplorable excuses made by those in charge for "reasons" however hollow those reasons may be.

When you fail to help your community and simply deny access you leave a gross stain instead of bridging a gap.

I hope you have the day you deserve, and I hope karma has some lessons for you.

I had literally just walked out after sharing a hug with **** at the end of an hour plus long meeting to discuss options and alternatives when I opened this email. There's a Planning Badge for that, right?:r:
 
Picked up part of my deer yesterday, the jerky, and it is good. No gamey taste that usually comes with deer. My steaks and sausage were not there, which has me a little worried. Hopefully that will be in today. Son also was able to get a deer. He hiked up 1600 vertical feet in a mile of mountain switchbacks to find his. I wanted to be there with him but told me that it was too steep for me. His FiL and buddy hiked up to help bring down the 100 pounds of quarters, roast, and backstrap. Edit...just called me; meat at the butcher.

We've got three trees we usually do: one in the living room, one in the family room, and a smaller tree (~5' tall) that we put on the front porch. The house rule is 'every holiday has its own place and time' so Christmas decorations are not displayed until after Thanksgiving (and Thanksgiving not until after Halloween etc)
 
The definition of Not Fun is getting home from a night meeting to discover that something is wrong with the dishwasher that is less than a year old.

Quick attempts last night and again this morning were unsuccessful. Today is swamped, so tomorrow I get to pull it out and and apart to find out what is going on.

That sucks. I had to repair my washing machine earlier this week. It is 30 years old and parts are harder to find for it. Fortunately, for me it was a easy diagnosis and the part needed was common to a number of brand's washing machine. Ironically a week prior, I repaired my parent's 18 year old washing machine. It was a loose hose connection. I am sure I jinxed myself when I mentioned that my washing machine was 30 years old.

I hope your issue is simple and covered by a warranty.

If it is simple, it won't need the warranty.

I found the instructions and the flashing lights can be one of 4 things. I did the first when I was home for lunch as it was the simplest, and it didn't work. Every other one will require that I pull it out of the cabinet. So I am going to systemically go through the next two. If it is the 4th I am calling in the warranty. I found the receipt and we bought it in May.
 
Interview over. I always screw up the project with a angry or demanding customer. Isn't that every project and once I'm done with it I tend to forget and let it go.
 
DIck Cheney's funeral is Thursday, November 20. No word yet on whether that is a holiday for government workers. Given the relationship between Cheney and our current President, I doubt it.

What have they done in the past? Also need to think when the last VP died.
Guess it was Mondale in 2021. Don't recall if it was holiday or not, well National Day of Mourning.
