If that is how you feel about routine tasks, perhaps it is time to shake things up. Can I suggest pickleball?

So yesterday, a neighbor rescued a parakeet that was about to be attacked by scrub jays. She knew we had birds so she called us. We had an extra cage and got the parakeet inside safely. We don't know much about parakeets (we are cockatiel people), but nonetheless offered to take the bird in until we found its owner.

I asked around, posted some links, and a few hours later, the owner showed up. Bird reunited. It had escaped in the wind yesterday.

Weekend update.

I saw a sign Saturday, "Now open, AZ Fish Co." I don't think I would like to eat at the Arizona Fish Company despite Arizona being so well known for our vast oceans.

My daughter's thoughts:
You know how everyone has that one artist you just speed to? I found out mine is Fleetwood Mac.

I just want to point out I have no influence on her music choices. I'm not a huge Fleetwood Mac fan. I speed to AC/DC

Fleetwood Mac, is her band to speed to, really? Judas Priest is my go to artist to speed to. My youngest discovered Tyler Childers and Luke Bryant on her on. She's not likely to speed when she listens to them but theirs a high likely hood that she'll drive 20-30 minutes out of her way to get home and there is a good possibility that she'll find a stray animal that she'll have a desire to pick up.

"I want to know if anyone has ever though of making a National Museum Museum. I'd like to see a museum dedicated to the history--of museums. Galleries could include Famous Museums in History, Famous Museum Visitors, Famous Museum Heists, and Famous Museum Gift Shops. Throw in a couple of smaller areas dedicated to Museum Architecture, Museum Design, and Museums in the Movies and you would have yourself a very entertaining building about museums."

I hate Adobe sign. What's that, you made a mistake? I think you should start over at the beginning. Oh, forgot some little detail. Start over at the beginning and I'm not going to make it easy to do anything like add people to sign stuff or new fields.
 
The Pennsylvania Station Tunnels under the Hudson are fascinating. Everything from the engineering to the reality that they tunnels move up and down based on tidal movement.

Why can't we have projects like that anymore? (other than labor cost, safety, environmental limitations...)

Came in a glass bottle too from Stokely, with a very wide opening. Lemon lime was the original, then came orange.
 
It would be the coolest job ever to be a tunnel planner. You could be the Derinkuyu Director of Development Services. Unfortunately that probably requires engineering chops unknown to us surface-dwellers.

Shooting/ Residential Burglary/ Hostile Environment- Caller says three male suspects wearing masks and rubber gloves broke into the caller's house. Suspects kicked in the rear door and all three had guns per caller. Caller says another resident of the home shot one of the suspects in the head. Suspect is deceased . Other two suspects took off running out the back door.

Drive-by shooting next door to city hall yesterday. At fist I thought the shots might be pile driving at a construction site nearby, but nothing was going on like that when I came into the office and it just seemed ridiculously quick to get that under way. Then came the BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! in quick succession and even a pansy liberal like me knew what it was.

Only a minor injury (GSW to the foot of an apparent innocent party). Shooter(s) got away and are presently on the lam.
 
Aren't restaurant lobbies just the coolest places? I mean all manner of useful things can be located around there: cigarette vending machines, matchbooks with the name of the restaurant, gumball vending machines, free mints, pay phones (hopefully the phonebook isn't too torn up!)
