That looks delicious and isn't far from my parents house. We may have to give that a try one of these weekends.

My oldest daughter and I like Bucharest Grill for Mediterranean stuff but my wife really likes this place: https://www.2941streetfood.com/menus/ (Menus | 29º 41º Mediterranean Street Food in MI)

They've got a few locations in the area, including one just a couple miles from us, and it's a bit more generic than Bucharest Grill, but it's good. I was skeptical the first time she wanted me to pick up food from there but as soon as I walked up to the door I could smell all the garlicy goodness and I knew it would be good. The portions were pretty substantial too, which was nice.

This made me think of a house a few blocks away from us that had a giant inflatable Buc-ee Beaver (I'm assuming that is what his name is) with a Christmas hat out in front of their house all through December. The closest Buc-ee's is probably 800+ miles away! :rofl:

I should go past again one of these days before we get too far in to January to see if it's still there and get a picture to remember it by.

I have not seen any of these yet; probably none on the east side. Looks amazing though.

One of the downfalls(?) of so many people in our office who WFH each day is that there are rarely ever any donuts in the office anymore on days I am there.

Every contract has an escape clause for all parties. In any intergovernmental agreement the jurisdiction makes these agreements for their advantage. There is value in laying out the terms of the agreement. They just formalize cooperation and what it entails. We have one for GIS and I am working on one for EMS in our area. Jurisdictions will stay in these things as long as they are in their interests.

I mean sure they spell out terms, but they're really just glorified hand shakes.
 
I would contribute to an ad campaign that advocates for people to get off social media.

There is no redeeming quality. Thinking people everywhere should be trying to kill this demon.
 
I just found out my cousin up in Buffalo passed away this week. If I'm not mistaken, that's the first of my direct cousins to pass.
 
I was at the gas station this morning and realized I didn’t have my ATM card.

Went back to the ATM where I last had it a few minutes before, and there it was. Got it back.

I thought the machines suck those back in if they aren’t removed. Clearly not.

When I said “ATM card,” I meant debit card, that is, a card used to draw funds from one’s checking account to settle an account. But I call it an “ATM card” because that’s what my parents always called it and the term stuck.

I had my card sucked back in one time. Had to go inside and one of the tellers came out to open the ATM machine to retrieve the card.

Now at the ATM machine for my bank it makes you take the card back before the cash comes out.

I would hate that system . . . now you're more likely to forget the cash. That can't be replaced (the card can, even if inconveniently).

Fun fact:

As a planner, I don't like the idea of free parking (Donald Shoup would be proud). But then, when I was in the bar district on Saturday night with family, I was complaining about all the free parking lots being full and having to pay at a meter. (The proceeds of which go right back to my employer, so I should be happy . . .)
