You serious, Clark?
No, but he's a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-assed, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed, sack of monkey shit he is! Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where's the Tylenol?"

Did my Thanksgiving food shopping woohoo - then popped into a Marshall's to get some Thanksgiving napkins and there was no Thanksgiving anything there and it's all Christmas - wtf - I have 25 people coming for dinner and I need some matching napkins - I don't get into a holiday for real with shopping until the week of so this 6 weeks out thing in retail is really annoying

We had Thanksgiving dinner at the in-laws house and after the dishes were cleared from the table and we relaxed for a few minutes my wife and MIL got out desserts and some paper plates to serve them on. We always use paper plates for desserts at their house for any sort of holiday or festive gathering because apparently my wife got her habit of buying holiday napkins and plates from her mom and her mom still has tons of them in the basement from years past. I should have taken a picture of the plates we used this year because I would imagine they were from the early '90s (my wife was trying to remember when she had seen these and she was thinking it was sometime in late elementary school or middle school, so that would track).

FWIW, my birthday was a few weeks ago and my wife busted out some birthday napkins that she had taken from her parents house when she was visiting a few weeks ago. The napkins were very clearly from the early '80s. Her mom said that she thinks she used them during my wife's 3rd or 4th birthday party.

We also were looking in some cabinets to help my in-laws find a specific relish dish they wanted to use and I think I saw three or four full sets of Christmas and Thanksgiving themed stoneware and china (each set being service for at least 12), in addition to the set that was on the table, plus all sorts of matching serving platters and serving bowls. Next time my wife comes home with some sort of holiday-themed plate or dish I will have to remind her that we're probably going to eventually have more than we can possibly handle.

How far are you travelling for thanksgiving dinner ?

I am going within my fair county (5 miles)

We traveled about 70 miles away... two counties over. Off to the edge of the map.

Hey people - get your stuff in for Secret Santa - it's really easy, you just buy local snacks and throw in any swag from your fair town and send it off

4th phone call today from the same person looking for the other town with a similar name in the state. I gave her the other city's phone number twice now.

I know ultimately it doesn't matter. I always thought I was roughly half Scandinavian and a mix of other Europeans. After talking to one of my aunts, it appears I am 3/4 Scandinavian and a 1/4 fill in the blank European. It explains the build and fair skin. Valhalla awaits.

I confess seeing this particular song adapted for use in a freakin' Disney movie blew my mind:

In case you feel like mourning, here's Iggy:

Gotta love the delicate use of German prose. From a German animal rescue page:

Millie has grown up by now, unfortunately we are currently struggling with diarrhea. She just needs an extra sausage, as you would say here in Bavaria.

oh man, my New Year's resolution is taking back my office calendar - enough of these back-to-back meeting $%^&

Earliest sunset of the year is TONIGHT!!! Yay!! (1635 hrs where I am). It's all uphill from here until June!!!

(However, the sun still rises later each day for another few weeks, making the days themselves still shorter until the 22nd.)

Fun fact: latest sunRISE of the year comes in early November--this year is was on the 2nd.

Red Robin is not having their "Jim Day" promotion this year either (usually the first Tuesday in December). They haven't had it since before 2020, so I think it may be something that COVID killed off permanently. :-( Like newspapers at Starbucks.

What, pray tell, is "Jim Day"?

The music from the original Sim City Nintendo game!

The first version I played was the Commode 64 version. I was in heaven! Then one year Santa brought me the DOS version . . . and I was hooked. DIdn't do anything but play that for my entire two week break.

I still dabble with SimCity 4000 occasionally, but at this moment I am really into "Transport Fever 2." Now that I the AICP exam behind me I can enjoy simple pleasures again like reading books and playing computer games.

I lost my AirTag off one of my bags while traveling last week. (I have the bag, just not the tag.) Didn't notice until I was home. It moved about half a mile from where I last had it (Oakland Coliseum AmTrak station), and it's been sitting in the same place since Thursday. I have a feeling it's in a dumpster and will move again whenever the trash is picked up.

There's this person on Instagram I follow and she has been tracking her stolen iPhone - I think it's in Taiwan at the moment

In my case it was just a $20 tag that went missing, likely falling out of its holder which was attached to my bag. The bag had medical equipment in it—luckily I do have the bag and all the equipment.

I want my tag to have some sort of adventure: not just sit there behind an office building for days.

Couple years back we sponsored some sea turtle for my daughter and she could go on a website and track its position in the Atlantic. It was pretty cool.

I want a zoning variance for Christmas,
only a zoning variance will do . . .

Don't want a road
or a dinky ADU
I want a zoning variance to play with much todo.

I can see me now on Christmas morning
opening up the map
what a joy and what surprise
when I open up my eyes
and see my brand new variance with wet stamp . . .

My best friend got SimCity for their computer back in like 1990 when I was in junior high and we would play that for hours, every weekend. I was instantly hooked. I need to look up to see if there's a way to run either that original version or the SimCity2000 on our home computer. I think our youngest daughter would absolutely love them.

I found more of those birthday party napkins from the 1980s in one of our cabinets at home yesterday:

I told my kids I want to get a tattoo of those clowns but to change the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" text in the balloon to something totally inappropriate. Any suggestions from Cyburbia?

Every girl's dream wedding come true: getting married at McDonalds!

Think how cool it would be getting married under the Golden Arches. The reception is held.... right there. Who needs a DJ or other entertainment when Ronald, Grimace, the Hamburglar, and Mayor McCheese are standing by? Kids getting bored? That's what Playland is for! Not enough parking for guests? Overflow parking is conveniently located next door at Burger King; a mere 80 feet away!

I had the day off yesterday and walked into downtown to get myself some lunch, go to the library, and do some Christmas shopping. It was wearing a superheavy handmade sweater from Filson. I bought the sweater in 2011 and there's a little label inside that says it was #33 of 225 that were made.

After eating and wandering around town for a bit, I stopped at Starbucks to have a coffee and read for a little while before walking back home. I'm sitting in one of the chairs engrossed in my book and at a little while I look up and see a guy standing at the counter waiting for his drink... wearing the exact same sweater as me! What are the odds of that?!?

My oldest daughter hates this sweater and cringes every time I wear it out of the house. She laughed when I showed her this photo and said I wasn't making the case for the sweater that I thought I was.

I’m jealous that your Starbucks lets you sit and linger. Ours pulled out all the seating during COVID and now only do take-outs, killing the third place vibe.

I loved how in that version if you bulldozed a church you would get a tornado as divine retribution.

Check on Steam to see if you can play it...that's how I play the real Roller Coaster Tycoon. If only the original will scratch that itch, ya know?

Also, I have been meaning to ask if anybody or anybody's kids are playing Manor Lord. I would could see a group game of that...competing with each other's fledgling fiefdoms, raiding, back-stabbing, secret alliances....I just think some folks on here, we could have a good time. :)

What would be a good insult for a window cleaner?

Your squeegee sucks.
I've seen bigger buckets on a farm.

It's really hard to insult a clown, but the thing I hate hearing is "stop clowning around" I mean come on people, get something a little more original.
