omg enough with what you are passionate about at work!
Who, me?omg enough with what you are passionate about at work!
Who, me?
Yeah, it's been a long week for me too. I need that extra hour this weekend.lol - no - just a general feeling of overworked exhaustion today
I love how Marvel movies always have one final scene after the credits so you gotta stay as it's usually telling or poignant or something important to know
Or, often, an unfinished plot line. People who don't stay may wonder, "Whatever happened with . . ." and won't know.I love how Marvel movies always have one final scene after the credits so you gotta stay as it's usually telling or poignant or something important to know
We participated in the socialist redistribution of candy wealth and had in excess of 500. I didn't count this year but based on the candy given out, it had to be. Notable experiences were as follows:Temps were in the upper 60s but it was very windy last night. We ended with 22 trick-or-treaters, that was down from our record of 35 kids last year, when temps were in the low 30s. Looking at my stats going back to 2009, there has actually been a negative correlation between the temperature and the number of trick-or-treaters we get.
Squeezing past you to get into your house borders on burglary. We participated in the socialist redistribution of candy wealth and had in excess of 500. I didn't count this year but based on the candy given out, it had to be. Notable experiences were as follows:
- We had one parent that was oblivious to the whereabouts of their kid to the point we had to go ask people if they were missing a kid.
- A neighbor was handing out ramen noodles.
- One kid decided that the assortment of candy that I had in my hand wasn't satisfactory and decided to squeeze pass me and help himself to my reserve candy supply and cherry pick what he wanted. I sent him away with nothing.
- There was a number of un-costumed, childless adults trick-or-treating.
- One teenage girl was dressed as an egg plant.
- One of the best parent-child costumes was a girl dressed as Belle and her father was dressed as the Beast.
Yep. Rocky Rococo in Wisconsin and Garcias in Eastern Illinois are good cheap chain Detroit styles too.I think their square, Detroit-style pizza, is actually pretty good.
Rocky Rococo still around? Had that in Iowa in the late 80s and early 90s. Rectangle pizza by the "slice."Yep. Rocky Rococo in Wisconsin and Garcias in Eastern Illinois are good cheap chain Detroit styles too.
Why don't people stay all the way until the end of movies anymore? It seems like once the credits start to roll, people bail. We've always stayed (and by always, I mean since I was barely out of diapers in the 1970's) until the very end and the lights come up, for two reasons:
1. I like to see who worked on the movie, since I have one- or two-step connections to a lot of people in the industry, plus there is often fun stuff post-credits, and:
2. I paid to see the whole movie, so I will stay and watch the whole movie. If you are in my party and don't want to watch everything, you are welcome to wait for me in the lobby--I won't be offended.
It just seems like since movies re-opened after the pandemic, my wife and I are the only two butts still in our seats when the lights come back one--everyone is out the door and long gone, not just from the auditiorium, but from the building itself.

Our local transit agency TVM's give them out as change. You can probably also order them from a bank branch. You know what a good Idea would be for Halloween: Hand out 50 cents pieces. It probably isn't much more than a couple of "fun size" pieces of candy. I had about 40 kids come by so it would have cost $20 but at least the kids would have had something of value than just a couple of sugary snacks.
If you have a lot more than 40 kids then maybe you could just hand those coins out to the first 40 and then start handing out candy afterwards. But you would hate to say to that 41st trick or treater: "Tough luck kid, here's a Haribo"
The only problem is...where do you even get 50 cent pieces today?

My daughter and a friend found a lizard skeleton in a potted plant yesterday. They decided to have a mini-funeral for it. At the very end, they felt the need to sing the Star Spangled Banner.
My goal?
My goal? Well, it's to foster time-tested market-based fundamentals that trickles down and incubates with key team members in order to innovatively colloquy with the development community to catalyze new foreign private equity investment, of course.
Let's circle back on this after the holidays
Only a few, mostly around Milwaukee.Rocky Rococo still around? Had that in Iowa in the late 80s and early 90s. Rectangle pizza by the "slice."
Going forward, please know this is a low hanging fruit kind of issue for me, so let's take it offline so we can intersectionally utilize our unique synergy.

While he isn't a lizard nor does he have lizard like qualities, my father wants the Star Spangled Banner played Jimi Hendrix style at his funeral. My daughter and a friend found a lizard skeleton in a potted plant yesterday. I'm more of a New Orleans jazz funeral type myself. I don't even care if you play jazz, I prefer rock. I just want something where everyone is having fun marching down the street blocking traffic. While he isn't a lizard nor does he have lizard like qualities, my father wants the Star Spangled Banner played Jimi Hendrix style at his funeral.

General Family Dentist or Endodontist (root canal specialist) ?Was privileged to experience my first toothache this weekend. Dentist was able to get me in today to start the root canal procedure. I go back in a few weeks to finish. Damn that hurt until the dentist worked his magic. Disappointed I did not get to look like this.

Plus lots of movies have Easter eggs (blooper reels, humorous alternate scenes, etc.) after the credits roll. Ferris Bueller's Day Off was the first movie I remember that had content during and after the credits.Plus lots of movies have Easter eggs (blooper reels, humorous alternate scenes, etc.) after the credits roll. Don't want to miss that.
Funny you gave that example, that was the very movie and Easter egg that crossed my mind too.Ferris Bueller's Day Off was the first movie I remember that had content during and after the credits.
