I assume it's early for beer, and although I am no longer a practicing Mormon, I still don't "partake" - I promised my mom years ago. Her dad was a mean drunk, and a promise is a promise.

Cheese (spread) and diced onions, you bet. The messier the better this morning. I don't know what's gotten into me!!
I am a firm believer that time of day shouldn't dictate your culinary choices.

I've never had a bowl of chili for breakfast.

Definition of irony:

Me, last week: stating that free parking in downtown areas is, in general, a bad idea (Like Donald Shoup.)

Me, yesterday, in Sacramento: Visiting a museum, then being annoyed that they don't validate in their own lot and having to pony up $6. (On top of the admission fees.) Next time, park at the free lot in the hotel next door.

:p

Okay....
I have YET to descend to the depths of impropriety required to even consider having a bowl of chili for breakfast.

You have exchanged messages with me for literally years, and I am awful. Your impropriety knows no depths it will not haunt, no bounds it will not straddle salaciously. Get some sleep, because 7:00 a.m. is coming soon, and it's chili time, you magnificent bastard!! I'll see you in the void!

I often eat leftovers for breakfast. Chili is one of my favorites leftovers to eat for breakfast. Prim and proper aren't words that anyone would use to describe me. I push the boundaries of impropriety on a daily basis.

AIB above discussion basic, simple question -

What is a normal acceptable breakfast? does this deserve a poll ? thread split?

Real life quote, exchange between two old friends: McBride, and Wheels. This short but pointed exchange happened at the counter of the diner where McBride and I worked during college, Wheels was visiting, as he did most days.

McBride: stares at Wheels You what?"
Wheels: "Are you trying to tell me that you've never had a cold pork chop sandwich and a Pepsi for breakfast?"
McBride: "Yes, Wheels. That is exactly what I am saying."

Put it on the list. I had to try it after hearing this exchange. If you're in the mood, it ain't bad. I felt like it made me make bolder decisions at work the day I tried it. :)

My wife's rule for me is that I must wait one hour after awakening before I can eat breakfast. Problem is, because of my metabolic issues, I often need food before the hour is up. So, I eat eggs and toast, for example, but don't call that "breakfast"; I just call it a snack.

I firmly believe that the best dinner is a good breakfast and the best breakfast is a good dinner.
I like where you are going with this.

I like where you are going with this, too.

I don't like where you are going with this.

Love breakfast over any other meal in the house or out. WFH days means I can make sausage and eggs - leftover chorizo from last night on this mornings menu - at my self-appointed breakfast time.

Anyone remember these? This particular photo is from San Francisco, but I remember seeing them in suburban Sacramento when I grew up, too. Basically a pre-WWW version of online travel sites. I played with one for an hour at a drug store one time.

I think the data was local to each individual unit and had to be updated manually, rather than being hooked into a central mainframe. I am not 100% certain of that though.

Brand new Art Deco. Cool.
Fort Worth had a growth spurt in the original Art Deco period and still have several examples in the downtown district. It's one of the styles often selected for new contraction.

A lot of the diners around here offer a pork chop and eggs combo.

That was my go-to late late late night/early morning meal after drinking all night when I was in the Marines. There was a greasy spoon diner not far outside the gates of the last base I worked on and we'd usually roll in there around 3:30 or 4:00 a.m. and I'd order the pork chops and eggs and my buddy would usually get steak and eggs. Great post-drinking food!

We're Number 12! Passed San Jose this year, and gaining on Austin and Jacksonville. Fort Worth will be a top 10 population city in the next year or so.

After that we set our sites on that city at the other end of the turnpike.
  • New York, New York (8.3 million).
  • Los Angeles, California (4 million).
  • Chicago, Illinois (2.7 million).
  • Houston, Texas (2.3 million).
  • Phoenix, Arizona (1.7 million).
  • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1.6 million).
  • San Antonio (1.5 million).
  • San Diego, California (1.4 million).
  • Dallas (1.3 million).
  • Jacksonville, Florida (986,000).
  • Austin (980,000).
  • Fort Worth, Texas (978,000).
  • San Jose (970,000).

Bet you haven't thought about The Seekers since at least last week Wednesday.

Every time that I go to the waffle house since the late 90's, I get the pork chop sandwich. The only exception was December 9, 2018 when they had a limited menu due to a snow storm, I had a cheese burger and it was a very disappointing experience.

I've decided that I don't care how it flips over so long as I can take enough to use. On the other hand, my brother would fight to the death that it should be beard.
My pet peeve is people that will get a new roll of TP when finishing one (yay!), but then leave it on top of the counter instead of putting it on the holder. How hard is to take the extra five seconds to do that????

I hate fake debt collectors. We have no debt (other than our mortgage), and if you can't tell me who you are or what company you are calling from, and claim you "can't" mail me information about the debt, I am not talking to you. When you say you have talked to the "HR Department" to begin garnishment at a place I haven't worked in years unless I pay you right now, yes, you go right ahead and do that. I am sure the former employer will be happy to garnish nonexistent wages.

What's odd is they did have my SSN and DOB (which I never confirmed as correct or not correct). I suspect it was grabbed in the Equifax breach years ago and is floating around the dark web somewhere.

I stopped at the fancy grocery store after going to the gym this morning and got out of my Jeep and was greeted by one of the clerks who told me they had no power and were closed (I thought the parking lot look suspiciously empty). Now I'm gonna have to eat lunch without my overpriced tiny bottle of sparkling cucumber water!

Guilty. :disappointed"

Note to self: Never read restaurant inspection reports in the newspaper while eating breakfast.

#firstworldproblems :)

I really need to get back into the "gym before work" habit . . . I was able to do it when I worked 5/8's. but on 4/10's it's just too hard to do it before work (and I have other obligations after work.) SInce half our department is on floor two and half on floor six, and our breakroom is on seven, I really should just take the stairs several times a day. That's better than nothing,
