Perfect song for the comic.

Don't murder me. I'm begging you please don't murder me. PLeeeeease don't murder me.
"...The wolf came in
I got my cards.
We sat down for a game.
I cut the deck to the queen of spades
But the cards were all the same!..."

Is going to the vet like an alien abduction for animals? You get taken against your will to some strange place. They probe you, you pass out, and when you wake up you feel like they're stuck stuff in you or parts of you are missing.

My nephew broke his clavicle sandboard in Peru last week. I challenge all of you to break a bone in a cooler sounding way.
You can sandboard here -

Ive seen them before, but we took a drive out of town about 230 am. Worth the drive

Here is another word not used too often - perfidy.

There's also a Presque Isle in the northern part of Michigan's LP on the shore of Lake Huron if you really want to put some miles on that bike!
Interesting. From French, presque means "almost." Are these all small-ish islands? I mean, it's an island... kind of. Not the best island. You might say it's almost an island, y'know, compared to all the other real islands.

Actually, presquîle is the French term for peninsula. It literally means "almost an island" and I think that makes a lot more sense than peninsula.

So all these Presque Isles are a poor anglicization of the French word for peninsula that comes out as an island named Presque.

There are (at least) three Presque Isles in Michigan, two in Ohio, and one each in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Maine and Virginia.

This Geographical Minute was brought to you by Google and Wikipedia.

I am always oddly surprised by how bad my allergies are this time of year. EVERY YEAR I think, "man they are worse this year".

We had another rainout weekend. Still misty out there this morning, though it apparently doesn't count as precipitation as far as radar goes. We did have enough dry time Saturday morning to get our breakfast ride in.

Early Saturday evening I was looking through our streaming options for a movie to watch with my youngest when I saw an ad that said we could stream Eurovision live. My daughter wanted to know what that was so we turned it on and caught the announcing of the vote tallies in the finals. We had seen 0 minutes of the actual song performances up to this point but we were really getting into it with each 20 second clip they played.

Halfway through the tally, my oldest joined us and when the competition was over and the winner was announced, we went back and watched the performances of the top 10 and we all agreed that Croatia got robbed.

Today, I learned that a band I saw a few times in high school is not only still around, but is headlining a free 3 day arts festival in Rockford.

The Smoking Popes, Chicago area pop punk. @mendelman You and I are around the same age. Heard of them?

This is one of their songs that was featured on the Clueless soundtrack.

I have been in front of a camera more this past year, than the past 21 years combined. But today's interview was the first time that it was not a "Good for the City" type of story.

UPDATE:
The story was spun in a way that made the electeds not look so good. So one of them got in my face and ripped into me last night after a meeting.

I bought a bottle of Coke at the gas station this morning....because it had a picture of Moon Knight on it.

I am twelve years old. I accept this about myself.

I stalled out in my diet at about 22-23 pounds lost. I just didn't lose another ounce no matter how much I starved myself. So this weekend I gave up and ate like a pig. I didn't gain an ounce. Back to the diet on Monday and I'm a pound lighter this morning. I guess the weekend feast told my body not to be so stingy with burning calories? Or maybe it's just a normal fluctuation. Let's see where we are in another week.

Losing the MiLB baseball team or something completely different?

In a waking dream this morning, I dreamt I was replaced by the former director in a sort of planning coup d'etat. I was heading out to a presentation I had worked really hard for and was crestfallen when I was informed we would not be doing my project. Then @Planit handed me a crisp $100 and I woke up, like WTF?

Is your scale 100% accurate?

Something completely different. Based on the interest in the site that you are asking about, I don't think that it will sit vacant for more than a few hours and will likely be replaced with something that has a lot more activity.

That's definitely the route to go.
After 28 years in the profession avoiding it...CDBG falls under my current job's responsibilities. We utilize a consultant to prepare all the applications, reporting, etc, all paid for with a % of the CDBG award. We're not an entitlement community, so we compete with the rest of the state for funds...having the consultant's expertise has been critical to our success with CDBG.

Is that with
cheese- slice or soft spread?
diced onions?

And is that with a beer also ?
I assume it's early for beer, and although I am no longer a practicing Mormon, I still don't "partake" - I promised my mom years ago. Her dad was a mean drunk, and a promise is a promise.

Cheese (spread) and diced onions, you bet. The messier the better this morning. I don't know what's gotten into me!!
